Our Service Specialists perform assigned tasks on automation systems. Tasks include service agreement maintenance, projects, and on-call (time and material) service. As a Service Specialist, *you will:* **

  • Execute digitalization and standard service operations strategies

  • Work with multiple internal service team members including Service Sales, Client Service Managers, Service Coordinators, and RAM Digital Service Center personnel

  • Follow safety requirements as outlined by Siemens and customers and successfully complete assigned training as outlined in the training path

  • Follow mandatory policies, procedures, and standards, may coordinate with contractors on job sites, maintain tools and test equipment

  • Support after hours during on-call rotation, respond to service calls (emergency and on-site) as assigned. Perform repairs as directed on all automation system types

  • Responsible for completing service ticket documentation per the policy, follow and maintain preventive maintenance schedules

  • Maintain complete and accurate documentation of services performed and generate reports within Siemens tools

  • Provide instructions to customer personnel regarding proper system operations and assist with training

  • Identify and report system discrepancies, suggest system upgrade opportunities, and may assist in pricing of repairs and upgrades to existing agreement and perform system checkout and startup on projects

  • Participate in job site final walk and/or final completion for systems-to-service turnover on assigned jobs perform other duties as assigned

  • Develop strong working relationships with internal and external customers, identify needs, and resolve issues

  • Work Overtime as needed (Compressed schedule performance can be a factor and will require extended hours to meet commitments)

  • Work Rotational On-Call and/or Minimal Overnight Travel

  • Use Siemens technology and devices, work remotely, identify and quote deficiency repairs and manage deadlines

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Electro-mechanical experience (either in a previous role or through education) and user PC/software skill

  • 3+ years of experience troubleshooting and repairing building automation (BAS) systems

  • Demonstrated on-the-job experience with:

  • Open protocols such as BACnet, Modbus, and TCP/IP Ethernet and networking

  • Engineering concepts, programming, job start-up and checkout, and troubleshooting

  • Ability and willingness to work in a variety of circumstances, including climbing ladders, scaffolds, and high lift equipment, working in ducts, crawl spaces, roofs, basements, above ceilings, and in various conditions

  • Must be able to use hand tools, laptop, email, smartphone, and tablet as well as able to carry and move equipment and tools weighing up to 75 pounds unassisted

  • Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

  • Must be 18 years of age and possess a valid driver's license with limited violations

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or state-recognized GED

  • Specialized skill training/certification

  • Experience installing and servicing electronic control or HVAC equipment; 1+ years

Siemens Electrification and Automation is seeking an experienced Substation Automation and Protection Panel Design Engineer to support Siemens customers in designing, developing, and manufacturing world-class power protection and automation panels of substation Protection, automation systems and applications that incorporate Siemens or other automation products.

We are looking for an Experienced Substation Automation and Protection Panel Design Engineer. This position will be based at Wendell, NC.

Role Description

  • Design Electrical, Mechanical and System Drawings of Protection and Control Panels in accordance with customer specifications and guidelines, using design software and drawing tools.

  • Develop logic diagrams and protection schemes based on technical drawings and further customer specifications.

  • Prepare (FAT & SAT) Factory & Site Acceptance Test procedures for protection systems projects.

  • Collaborate with a team of professionals to develop electrical Systems that meet industry standards and customer requirements.

  • Be a technical leader in projects or lead other team members in project activities.

  • Be one of our primary customer interfaces, including trouble shooting and commissioning support.

  • Provide technical support throughout the project lifecycle, including design, implementation, and commissioning phases.

  • Occasionally provide technical support to sales team with development of project scope of work, sales estimates, and proposals.

You'll win us over by having the following qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or relevant field.

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical design in the Power Systems protection and Control Engineering Field.

  • Experience working with Engineering Base (EB) Software and the Global Engineering Library (GEL) database for design.

  • Knowledge of Siemens, GE, SEL, ABB, and others relay/automation products and associated software.

  • Applied knowledge of transmission and distribution numerical relay and protection; capable of designing and specifying them; capable of approving and supervising the designs of other engineers.

  • Communication Network Technologies, including Design and hardware configuration.

  • Communication protocols such as IEC61850 (MMS/GOOSE/SMV), DNP, Modbus, IEC103, IEC101, IEC104, Profinet, Profibus.

  • Control and Protection commissioning experience.

  • Knowledge of ANSI standards, IEC standards.

  • Around 45% of travel is expected depending on project assignments and requirements.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of Protection and Automation Systems of Electrical Systems.

  • Project Lead experience.

  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Visio tools.

  • Advanced Knowledge of Microsoft Office.

  • Experience working with AutoCAD/AutoCAD Electrical.

  • Knowledge of Global Engineering Library (GEL) and creation of local Database, creation of worksheets, EB Table, and Cabinet Routing with Engineering Base Software.

  • Applied knowledge of Medium and High Voltage Protection

  1. Medium voltage protection schemes (including design of transfer schemes and reverse interlocking schemes)

  2. Generator Protection

  3. Line Differential and Distance Protection

  • Knowledgeable on communication protocols such as IEC 61850, DNP, Profibus, OPC, Modbus, IEC101, IEC104.

  • Professional Engineer license (PE US).

  • C Programming Language experience.

  • Experience working with MicroStation Software.

The Senior Security Service Specialist performs remote setup, analysis, and troubleshooting on Security Systems and Devices, Subscription Cloud Services, and Access Control/Video Systems while providing initial solutions to issues on service and installations. You will be connecting customer sites to the Remote Service Center and interface with Service Specialists, Zone Technical Experts (ZTE)s, and customers.

As a Senior Security Service Specialist, you will:

  • Provide Technical expertise for all security subscription services to include cloud access control, cloud video, weapons detection, and any IOT Health and Performance software systems

  • Provide Remote Support on Siemens digital services such as System Performance Monitoring (SPM), Advance Proactive Services (APS), available cloud services, as well as IOT Health Monitoring services available using cRSP (remote) based connectivity methods

  • Provide Digital Onboarding & Digital Services to internal and external customers during normal business hours

  • Provide Troubleshooting support to Siemens employees and Customers

  • Handle Responsive, Preventive, and Proactive maintenance calls

  • Setup initial maintenance requests and corrective action tasks for Data Driven Services and provide product software maintenance support

The Solutions & Service Operations Manager This position leads a team responsible for project management, system installation, and commissioning activities. Why is this important? Early Professional:

Midlevel:

  • Perform and lead existing building commissioning and perform and supervise preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify Facility Improvement Measures (FIMs) and opportunities.

  • Participate in pre-sale activities, working closely with Sales to identify and technically qualify customer opportunities for energy efficiency and work with Siemens operations teams and outside vendors as it pertains to developing FIMs.

  • Analyze blueprints and perform site surveys to identify mechanical, electrical, and control systems to determine facility operational characteristics and apply building energy simulation programs to develop energy, cooling, and heating load-building models using modeling software.

  • Perform industry-standard energy calculations (such as weather-based BIN calculations) and develop design concepts and schematics concerning recommended FIMs, including the scope of work descriptions, sequences of operations, code deficiency evaluations, savings potential, cost estimates, and data to verify FIMs.

  • Prepare financial models including Return on Investment (ROI), life cycle costs, and internal rate of return and work collaboratively with our Digital Service Team on Smart Building solutions, as part of Siemens Digitalization Strategy.

Responsibilities while working alongside current Energy Engineers, you will:

  • Support facility site visits and communicate basic design concepts with outside vendors, consultants, or Siemens Project Managers as it pertains to the scope of the FIMs (facility improvement measures)

  • Support preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify FIMs and/or opportunities

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations

  • Preparing finished units for shipping (e.g. packing, sealing, labeling, etc.)

Basic Requirements

Responsibilities while working alongside current Energy Engineers, you will:

  • Support facility site visits and communicate basic design concepts with outside vendors, consultants, or Siemens Project Managers as it pertains to the scope of the FIMs (facility improvement measures)

  • Support preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify FIMs and/or opportunities

  • Take or supervise equipment measurements, data logging, and equipment trending necessary to develop energy savings opportunity

  • Directly work with Energy Services staff with building energy simulation programs or excel spreadsheet calculations to determine project energy savings as well as analyze operational costs to identify operational savings

  • Support the development of preliminary and final energy services proposals

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations

  • Rotate through other departments within the branch office to learn about how our branch organization operates

  • Attend virtual executive discussions and events with other interns to develop a sense of what a career at Siemens is all about

  • Provide monthly labor forecast, ensure proper job management and cost control by reviewing project financial statements, and maintain and improve planned and executed margins for projects

  • Review customer feedback and ensure high customer satisfaction and maintain relationships with execution teams so changes and discrepancies can be managed to minimize cost and delays throughout the execution phase of projects

  • Manage or advise on hiring, training and development, allocation, and performance assessment of personnel within area of responsibility

Basic Qualifications:

  • Provide project development assistance to sell stand-alone energy service projects or development of LEED sustainable solutions

  • During this 10-week internship program, you will rotate through various departments at the local branch office, focusing on smart buildings and sustainable infrastructure

  • 60% of your time will be spent on energy engineering-related activities (learning how HVAC systems impact energy usage, energy engineering calculations, strategies for reducing building energy consumption for our customers, on-the-job training, and shadowing, etc.)

  • 40% of your time with be spent with the sales department learning how we go-to-market and sell our solutions and services

  • You may get experience rotating through our core business segments, which includes HVAC, Fire/Life Safety, Security, and Energy/Sustainability Systems

Responsibilities while working alongside current Energy Engineers, you will:

  • Review project specifications, drawings, and project-specific documents to establish an energy efficient solution for our customers

  • Support facility site visits and communicate basic design concepts with outside vendors, consultants, or Siemens Project Managers as it pertains to the scope of the FIMs (facility improvement measures)

  • Support preliminary and detailed facility audits to identify FIMs and/or opportunities

  • Take or supervise equipment measurements, data logging, and equipment trending necessary to develop energy savings opportunity

  • Directly work with Energy Services staff with building energy simulation programs or excel spreadsheet calculations to determine project energy savings as well as analyze operational costs to identify operational savings

  • Support the development of preliminary and final energy services proposals

  • Participate in client meetings and presentations

  • Rotate through other departments within the branch office to learn about how our branch organization operates

  • Attend virtual executive discussions and events with other interns to develop a sense of what a career at Siemens is all about

  • Majors: Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Energy/Sustainability and Built Environment, Computer Science, Business Administration

The Digital Deployment Specialist is responsible for quality control and the overall accuracy and completeness of all required digital project graphics deliverables (Digital Deployment Package), and deployment of assigned projects that are managed through the Global or National Operations Center. As a DDS, you will verify all graphics are correct, assemble the complete customer solution off-site, and ensure Digital Deployment Package is complete. You will also ensure all customer and Siemens' standards are adhered to before the package is turned over to the field execution team and ensure document / package completeness, as well as perform remote support for graphics implementation.

Ideally, this remote position will be located anywhere within the Northeast United States, however, other considerations will be made within the Eastern Time Zone.

As a Digital Deployment Specialist, you will:

  • Coordinate with PM and operations centers to ensure that all required documentation (i.e. graphics submittals, existing site standards and backup) have been provided

  • Assist graphics integration specialist and graphics designer to develop graphics submittal for customer approval

  • Work with PM and graphics designer to generate a comprehensive list of all required graphics for all assigned projects

  • Work with PM and graphics designer to establish graphics delivery dates so that graphics are delivered as required by project schedule

  • After delivery of graphics, verify graphics package is 100% complete and ready for field installation, items to be checked include at a minimum the following: points, navigation links, mechanical accuracy, symbols, customer standards and system functionality

  • Perform Quality Assurance on the deployment package and turns over solution to field technical resources

  • Ensure that end-user standards and requirements are adhered to and that all project deliverables are accounted for and reflect customer, Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ), and national standards

  • Update cloud-based project site with testing / reviewed results and technical documents including backups of all relevant documents

  • Receive and track work performed in the operations centers via workflow management software as required

  • Provide remote support for local field technicians if issues are found within graphical digital deployment package (DDP) (when remote connectivity is available)

  • Act as a technical resource to all engineering and field resources

  • When needed, assist in setting up graphical front end for factory witness testing

You will make an impact with these qualifications:

Basic Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or state-recognized GED

  • Experience in Building Automation

  • Experience with graphics design

  • Good verbal and written communication skills in English

  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office, AutoCAD, CAD Training, or other engineering design software applications

  • Must be self-directed

  • Legally authorized to work in the United States on a continual and permanent basis without company sponsorship

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electronics, Computer Science or other related technical field

  • 2+ years' experience in Building Automation

  • The pay range for this position is $54,100 - $101, 300 / year. The actual wage offered may be lower or higher depending on budget and candidate experience, knowledge, skills, qualifications and premium geographic location.
