Return to Work Associate
PRIMARY PURPOSE : To perform return-to-work assessment under general supervision; to coordinate return-to-work related activities including gathering medical information for accommodation evaluation; to resolve workers' compensation cases; to provide customer support; and to support return-to-work/accommodation staff.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs initial evaluations assessment via telephone calls to physician and employer.
Evaluates need for alternative return-to-work plan and coordinates return-to-work related activities.
Supports return-to-work and/or job accommodation processes for return-to-work management.
Supports return-to-work/job accommodation staff through the completion of components of the return-to-work management process.
Provides return-to-work support for injured workers, physicians, employers and claims teams.
Gathers return-to-work data from providers, nurses and return-to-work specialists for record keeping.
Resolves workers' compensation cases by applying current policies and procedures per state workers' compensation laws and client program design.
Enters data into the claims management system accurately.
Adheres to quality assurance standards.

Performs other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
High school diploma or GED required.
Experience
One (1) year claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Return-to-work experience preferred.

SIU Research Investigator
PRIMARY PURPOSE : To perform claims investigations utilizing online public and subscription database searches; to conduct various research investigations using specialized techniques and technologies; to analyze results for red flag indicators; to compile results, document findings in detailed, professional reports and make recommendations as appropriate.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs research investigation assignments as requested by examiners, clients or assigned legal counsel.
Conducts thorough search and inspection of available public and subscription database records.
Conducts comprehensive background investigations, medical and other facility canvasses, social media searches, social media monitoring, geo-fencing, skip traces, and other specialized research investigations.
Documents findings in a detailed, professional investigative report.
Identifies, documents and communicates red flag indicators and makes additional handling recommendations as appropriate.
Maintains proper documentation of all relevant facts and evidence pertaining to the case in the appropriate claim handling system(s) and ensures investigations are completed according to service expectations and SIU best practices.
Maintains technical competency and adherence with all applicable legal codes and statutes to ensure all investigations are conducted in a legal and ethical manner.
Complies with deposition and courtroom testimony appearances as requested.
Conducts training for new team members as requested.

QUALIFICATIONS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Analyzes and processes complex or technically difficult claims in lines of business noted.
Assesses liability and resolves claims within evaluation.
Negotiates settlement of claims
Calculates, assigns, and monitors claims reserves
Calculates and pays benefits due; approves and makes timely claim payments and adjustments; and settles clams within designated authority level.
Manages the litigation process; ensures timely and cost-effective claims resolution.
Coordinates vendor referrals for additional investigation and/or litigation management.
Uses appropriate cost containment techniques including strategic vendor partnerships to reduce overall cost of claims for our clients.
Manages claim recoveries, including but not limited to: subrogation, Reinsurance recoveries and Social Security and Medicare offsets.
Communicates claim activity and processing with the claimant and the client; maintains professional client relationships.
Travels as required.
QUALIFICATION
Education & Licensing
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred. Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred. Current Texas adjuster license required.
Experience
Five (5) years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Litigation experience required.
Skills & Knowledge
Subject matter expert of appropriate insurance principles and laws
Excellent oral and written communication, including presentation skills
PC literate, including Microsoft Office products

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
To provide excellent service displaying empathy to callers regarding claims for multiple lines of business, including but not limited to, expediting the claims process, and providing detailed claim notes on all calls, resolving issues with one call/one person response, and directing calls to appropriate escalation path as needed.

Claims Examiner - Workers Compensation (REMOTE)
PRIMARY PURPOSE : To analyze complex or technically difficult workers' compensation claims to determine benefits due; to work with high exposure claims involving litigation and rehabilitation; to ensure ongoing adjudication of claims within service expectations, industry best practices and specific client service requirements; and to identify subrogation of claims and negotiate settlements.

Sr. Disability Representative
PRIMARY PURPOSE : Provides disability case management and complex claim determinations based on medical documentation and the applicable disability plan interpretation including determining benefits due and making timely payments/approvals and adjustments, medically managing disability claims including comorbidities, concurrent plans, and complex ADA accommodations; coordinates investigative efforts, thoroughly reviews contested claims, negotiates return to work with or without job accommodations, and evaluates and arranges appropriate referral of claims to outside vendors.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Makes independent claim determinations, based on the information received, to approve complex disability claims or makes a recommendation to team lead to deny claims based on the disability plan.
Reviews and analyzes complex medical information (i.e. attending physician statements, office notes, operative reports, etc.) to determine if the claimant is disabled as defined by the disability plan.
Oversees additional facets of complex claims including but not limited to comorbidities, concurrent plans, complex ADA accommodations, and claims outside of typical guidelines.
Utilizes the appropriate clinical resources in case assessment (i.e. duration guidelines, in-house clinicians), as needed.
Determines benefits due pursuant to a disability plan, makes timely claims payments/approvals and adjustments for workers compensation, Social Security Disability Income (SSDI), and other disability offsets.
Informs claimants of documentation required to process claims, required time frames, payment information and claims status by phone, written correspondence and/or claims system.
Communicates with the claimants' providers to set expectations regarding return to work.
Medically manages complex disability claims ensuring compliance with duration control guidelines and plan provisions.
Communicates clearly and timely with claimant and client on all aspects of claims process by phone, written correspondence and/or claims system.
Coordinates investigative efforts ensuring appropriateness; provides thorough review of contested claims.
Evaluates and arranges appropriate referral of claims to outside vendors or physician advisor reviews, surveillance, independent medical evaluation, functional capability evaluation, and/or related disability activities.
Negotiates return to work with or without job accommodations via the claimant's physician and employer.
Refers cases to team lead and clinical case management for additional review when appropriate.
Maintains professional client relationships and provides excellent customer service.
Meets the organization's quality program(s) minimum requirements.

QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Licensing
High School diploma or GED required. Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college preferred. State certification or licensing in statutory leaves is preferred or may be required based on state regulations.
Experience
Three (3) years of benefits or disability case/claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

Knowledge of ERISA regulations, required offsets and deductions, disability duration and medical management practices and Social Security application procedures

PRIMARY PURPOSE : To perform claims investigations utilizing online public and subscription database searches; to conduct various research investigations using specialized techniques and technologies; to analyze results for red flag indicators; to compile results, document findings in detailed, professional reports and make recommendations as appropriate.

Auto Claims Representative
PRIMARY PURPOSE : To analyze and process low to mid-level auto and transportation claims.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes auto property damage and lower level injury claims; assesses damage, makes payments, and ensures claim files are properly documented and correctly coded based on the policy.
