Serco is looking for a Senior Healthcare Communications Writer with experience as a writer/editor to for the Department of Defense (DOD) or other government agencies, to support executive-level communications efforts with the Defense Health Agency (DHA) Strategic Communications (STRATCOM) Directorate.
Serco supports the DHA STRATCOM Directorate which integrates the research, planning, execution and evaluation of all Military Health System (MHS) public affairs and communications programs. The DHA STRATCOM supports this efffort across multiple communications channels and disciplines to a wide variety of key audiences and stakeholders at the national and global levels, including all military hospitals, clinical facilities, the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Health Affairs, the Department of Defense, and Congress.
As a seniorHealthcare Communications Writer, you will be part of a larger 40-person team and will partner with subject matter experts and leadership within a larger communications organization to identify communications requirements and create and edit content that supports MHS strategic initiatives. The content that you create or contribute to will be used across MHS strategic communications outputs for planning, media, web, and outreach/external events.This is an existing opportunity, and you will be joining an experience team that is firing on all cylinders.
In the Senior Healthcare Communications Writer role you will:
Draft remarks, talking points, articles, briefings and testimony for the Military Health System's flag officers and senior executives
Use developed content to draft responses to Congressional letters directed to MHS
Advise senior leadership of communications strategies that support the Agency's mission, goals, vision and objectives
Prepare read-ahead materials that inform leadership of potential courses of action and situational awareness for upcoming events
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
The ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust clearance
Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, English, Journalism, or related field
Experience as a DoD practitioner
DINFOS trained.
Minimum of 7 years of related work experience in content development, communications, writing and editing content for various mediums
Proven effective communications skills as well as excellent writing and editing skills
The ability to cooperate with other writers and editors to complete projects and provide feedback on products and campaigns
Demonstrated experience drafting remarks and products for senior leaders
Experience with DHA, VHA or DOD communications
Comfort working at client site offices and participating in internal strategy sessions
The ability to handle multiple projects concurrently under shifting or tight deadlines
Proficient in all Microsoft Office applications
Desired attributes:
Experience supporting senior military and civilian leadership
Understanding of structure and missions of DOD and/or military health organizations (USAF, USN, USMC, USA, USCG, DHA)
Comfort taking direction from and providing guidance to senior executives
Experience preparing senior executives for media engagement
Flexibility to periodically work outside normal business hours or on some weekends and holidays

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
HS diploma and evidence of technical training related to Information Technology, Cyber Security, Computer Science, or another related technical field
Current IAT Level II baseline certification

Windows Server or VMWare certification

In this role, you will:
Will perform scheduled and corrective maintenance, integration, testing, field installation, and troubleshooting of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic equipment and systems.
Provide sound and seasoned technical judgement that follows company policies and procedures in meeting customer obligations.
Conduct routine and corrective maintenance of complex automated control systems, main engines, diesel generators, electrical distribution systems, and auxiliary systems.
Assist with vessel modifications, including development of Engineering Change Proposals, procurement of parts, fabrication, installation, and testing.
Assist with planning shipyard overhauls.
Assist with electrical, mechanical and network payload integration.
Travel and at-sea watch standing will be required.
Qualifications
To be successful in the role, you will need:
High School Diploma and a minimum of 10 years of relevant vessel experience. USCG Deck or Engineering License relevant to their position on the vessels is required.
Must be eligibe to obtain a DoD Secret level Secrurity Clearance to be considered.
Able to interpret mechanical and hydraulic schematics and drawings.
Proficient in the use of common and power-driven tools.
Good communication skills and the ability to work as a team player in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work with minimum supervision under a variety of conditions.

Operate UXV from onboard and remote platforms.
Conduct routine and corrective maintenance of complex automated control systems, primary and auxiliary engines and systems, diesel generators, electrical distribution systems, and ship firefighting equipment.
Lead support with vessel modifications, payload integration, fabrication engineering changes, electrical, mechanical and network integration and testing.
Conduct at-sea testing of UXVs and associated payload, including test plan development, test execution, and post-test analysis.
Provide sound and seasoned technical judgement that follows company policies and procedures in meeting customer obligations.
Maintain teams and systems in the highest state of readiness to meet US Government requirements.
Work within a team to resolve technical issues.

MS Access database is used to support the commitments effort. Currently most electronic commitment documents that are being tracked are also held on a shared network drive. Three data entry personnel and one technical lead manages the backup scheme; designs data fields and creates ad-hoc and defined reports exported to MS Excel and PDF.
In this role, you will:
Be on a team to support the customer for Commitments Database.
Work with Team Sub staff to route incoming commitments and update/maintain data used for tracking status of open items.
Maintain database functionality and manage access required by 450T personnel.
Be the single point of contact on all contract management support related issues, including required reports and presentations responsible for quality control and timeliness.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A current or active DoD Secret clearance.
A Bachelor's degree in a business or technical field.
Two to four years' experience in either engineering/science management, operations research analysis, financial/cost analysis, or a relevant field.

In this role, you will:
Provide analytical and technical support relating to DoD CIO Cyber Manpower strategy and policy and cyber workforce initiatives.
Research, analyze, and identify DoD and federal IT skill gaps and root causes as well as recommend strategies to reduce gaps in cyber workforce positions.
Provide draft analysis and recommendation report to meet the functional community management lifecycle reporting requirements established by the Department of Defense.
Conduct research and analysis to identify cyber workforce trends; analyze data to assess the overall health of the DoD cyber workforce; develop strategic workforce documents; write cyber workforce reports for submission to the Secretary of Defense, the US Congress, or other federal entities; and provide documentation to support advocacy for legislation, regulations, policies, and tools necessary to sustain the cyber workforce.
Responsible for a broad spectrum of civilian workforce planning and analysis requirements, as well as overseeing overarching force management policies (e.g., recruitment, retention, compensation, professional development) career development, education, and training) for over 50,000 DoD civilians in 18 occupational series. Supportive efforts include research and analysis to identify workforce trends; development of strategic workforce documents; and advocating for legislation, policies, and tools which support workforce sustainment.
Analyze cyber personnel trends to support strategic human capital reporting requirements.
Understand the differences between manpower and personnel systems, and the type of human capital information that resides within them.
Ability to conduct data analytics using DoD canned reports and/or structuring data queries to obtain desired content. Other sources may include the Bureau of Labor Statistics, OPM's Fedscope.
Provide support, on an ad-hoc basis, for a variety of Congressional response requirements associated with cyber workforce management. These include analysis of draft legislation; creation and defense of legislative proposals; correspondence preparation; material support for meetings with Congressional member/staff visits; and responding to requests for information.
Monitor congressional positions and actions on matters affecting all aspects of cyber workforce management and recommends Defense positions.
Advise the DoD CIO regarding the need for new or modification to existing legislation, and congressional reporting requirements; develops timely responses to congressional responses including legislation, questions in specific areas of interest, questions and inserts for the record, hearing statements, and backup material preparation.
Prepare responses to media requests, write newsletter articles, and provide website content to share insight on DoD cyber workforce trends and the status of ongoing workforce initiatives.
Analyze workforce data and prepare cyber workforce reports to meet requirements imposed by the Secretary of Defense, the U.S. Congress, the GAO, OMB and OPM.
Provide written content for a variety of informational purposes to showcase cyber workforce initiatives.
Draft authoritative responses for GAO questions, succinctly conveying DoD's position and accomplishments and providing -artifacts- to back up comments/justifications.
Provide data to support OMB and OPM data requests.
Write briefings and large-scale reports (15-30 pages) to convey status of DoD cyber workforce.

Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:

Position Description
Serco is Hiring Coastal Engineering Site Inspectors to support of the Federal Emergency Management AgencyPublic Assistance recovery initiatives in Zone 2 across the Midwest. The position will consist of professional and non-professional personnel to provide support to state, tribal, territorial local governments, and some private non-profits.Serco strives to providesupport quickly and efficiently to FEMA's mission by helping those effected by man-made and natural disasters
This position is contingent upon your ability to obtain/maintain/transfer a DHS Clearance.
This position is contingent upon customer requirements and/or their approval.
In this role, you will:
Review and analyze professional architectural/engineering reports and designs or as-built plans
Thoroughly document analysis in writing
Develop scopes of work, to included related code and standard requirements
Validate applicant-provided scopes of work to include related code and standard requirements
Develop and review cost estimates
Advise FEMA staff on the technical validity of claims presented under FEMA's arbitration process.
Should arbitration hearings occur, you will testify as an expert witness on FEMA's behalf
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will have:
A minimum of 5 years of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) Public Assistance (PA) experience.
A BS in Engineering or higher
1-2 years of experience in site inspections of Large Commercial Construction infrastructures
1-2 years of experience in site Inspections in any of the following eligible types of work:
Restoration of Roads, Bridges, Water control Facilities, Buildings, Equipment, Utilities, Debris Removal, Schools, Churches, Parks, and recreation centers.
The ability to obtain and maintain FEMA Public Trust.
A United States Citizenship
The ability to maintain FEMA specific trainings
Strong Microsoft Office Skills,excellent written and oral communication skills.
The ability to deploy to any location in zone 2 with a 24-48-hour notice after Task Order Award.
