The Opportunity
As a dedicated Business Risk and Controls Advisor Lead, you will be accountable for driving business issues through the issue remediation cycle.
You will promote risk-awareness and the overall effectiveness of risk and compliance management programs, risk analytics and operations in the business. This role will partner and collaborate with Compliance and Risk Management, as well as Business Operations, IT, Audit Services, and Regulators to support risk and compliance-based initiatives. You will also be responsible for supporting business leader adherence to the established risk framework and ongoing supervision of business controls; including, risk and control self-assessments, identification, and evaluation of control effectiveness, identifying control failures, facilitating risk and compliance remediation, internal and external audits and regulatory exams, and monitoring of the first line of defense to minimize risk exposures and strengthen the overall control environment.
This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

What you'll do:
Direct and lead all aspects of multiple initiatives in support of risk and/or regulatory compliance related initiatives including but not limited to: oversight of procedures/process, accurate regulatory reporting and filing, document governance, risk control self-assessments, procedure governance, control design, new product controls, Company or Staff Agency Third Party Governance, or quality governance.
Apply a comprehensive understanding of risk and regulatory compliance to include business strategies and solutions.
Responsible for first line of defense data analysis, report preparation and trend analysis, using business intelligence tools.
Design solutions for unanswered business questions and anticipates future business needs.
Direct, organize and coordinate action plans designed to enhance governance practices in alignment with frameworks.
Influence and develop innovative solutions to mitigate risk and prevent risk exposures which result in significant business impacts.
Handle the most complex projects involving cross-functional areas.
Define and outline innovative approaches to problem resolution and lead project team from concept through implementation.
Counsel senior management on the status of their control environment related to risk identification and control weaknesses.
Identify critical areas to monitor and bring up issues and findings to appropriate partners.
Serve as a primary resource to cross functional team members and advises on risk mitigation opportunities.
Stay informed of changes to the regulatory environment to ensure proper compliance with processes and requirements are followed.
Ensure risks associated with business activities are identified, measured, and controlled in accordance with policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree: OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
Minimum 8 years' experience supporting risk-related, compliance related, or business control design activities in issue remediation OR 8 years' experience in a relevant quantitative field; OR Advanced degree or designation in a risk management or quantitative field, and 6 years' experience supporting risk-related, and/or compliance-related, or business control design activities in issue remediation; OR PhD in a risk management or quantitative field, and 4 years' experience supporting risk-related, and/or compliance-related, or business control design activities in issue remediation
Knowledge of federal laws, rules, regulations, and applicable guidance to area supported for example: OCC Heightened Standards, BSA/AML, REG E, UDAAP/UDAP, TILA/REG Z, SCRA, FCRA, MLA.

Ability to drive multiple remediation issues simultaneously at various stages of the remediation process.
Ability to drive action, write details of an issue so and independent third party can understand clearly, raise when timelines are in jeopardy and push key resources to keep the issue on track for committed dates.
Knowledge of the products, systems, data, and processes for the specific lines of business.
Experience with bank member/customer remediations.
Experience with any of the following: credit card, debit card, consumer lending.
Strong background successfully interacting with and influencing partners.
Experience writing action plans.
US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.

The salary range for this position is: $120,500.00 - $230,400.00 .

The Opportunity
As a dedicated AML Business Advisor I, you will be part of the Operations Enablement team within the First Line Bank AML Organization. In this role, you will design, execute, and sustain formal performance management practices (Management Systems) across a matrix organization. Facilitate training and support the integration of performance management concepts, skills, and templates. Monitor adherence / progress, communicate, and provide targeted support as needed to drive sustainment.
What you'll do:
Researches, plans, develops, implements, gather requirements, create procedures and processes in support of AML/KYC initiatives to ensure compliance, product competitiveness, profitable growth, and adherence to USAA's commitment to being World Class.
Consults with colleagues and partners in operational and risk functions, as needed, when facilitating the development of business rules, requirements, and artifacts.
Develops test strategies and criteria, and assists with test execution, and defect resolution.
Coordinates with appropriate stakeholders and program/project sponsors to help ensure successful product and initiative implementation.
Maintains and demonstrates understanding of primary regulation commonly applicable to regulated financial institutions in the U.S. (e.g. anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption, fair lending, and sales practices rules, etc.).
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

The Opportunity
As a dedicated AML Business Advisor Senior, you will be part of the Operations Enablement team within the First Line Bank AML Organization. In this role, you will design, execute, and sustain formal performance management practices (Management Systems) across a matrix organization. Facilitate training and support the integration of performance management concepts, skills, and templates. Monitor adherence / progress, communicate, and provide targeted support as needed to drive sustainment.
What you'll do:
Provides gap analysis and recommendations to enhance business programs projects, agile projects and/or processes in support of AML/KYC initiatives.
Identifies opportunities and/or implements business solutions to meet business needs.
Researches, plans, develops, implements, captures requirements, build procedures and processes to minimize risks, ensure compliance, and adherence to USAA's dedication to being World Class.
Collaborates with enterprise partners in operational and risk functions, as needed, when the development of business rules, requirements, and artifacts.
Serves as a coach and on-the-job trainer for other team members.
Maintains and demonstrates awareness of primary regulation commonly applicable to regulated financial institutions in the U.S. (e.g. anti-money laundering, anti-bribery and corruption, fair lending, and sales practices rules, etc.).
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
6 years of experience with credit cards and/or deposits and/or directly related experience.
Advanced knowledge of relevant industry technology applications. such as Credit Cards/ Deposit processing systems, process mapping tools, RCSA tools, etc.
Experience creating and implementing processes and procedures to enhance and sustain compliance adherence.
Experience in building solutions in an agile environment including developing and executing robust testing strategies.
Knowledgeable of the laws applicable to money laundering, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the USA PATRIOT act, US Treasury AML guidelines, OFAC requirements, and Suspicious Activity Reporting requirements.
Intermediate knowledge of disciplined execution, change management, and/ or risk management practices.
Experience leading change in a matrixed organization.
Experience in leading cross functional projects.
Experience in supporting business processes to meet BSA/ AML or similar regulatory requirements.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools.

As a dedicated Compliance and Operational Risk Testing Analyst Lead, you will be a member of the second line of defense, oversees the execution of independent testing under the Enterprise Testing program methodology to ensure departmental processes and activities comply with applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. The incumbent will manage assigned tests and resources, compile and retain well documented work papers to create accurate and concise written reports including issues, root causes and recommended corrective action. Reviews and completes, as needed, work papers to support conclusions of test findings.
Provides input on allocation of resources to complete testing activities.
Performs complex qualitative analysis of data.

What you have:
Bachelor's degree OR 4 additional years of related experience beyond the minimum required may be substituted in lieu of a degree (12 years total without a degree).
8 or more years of relevant work experience (internal/external audit, operational risk/compliance testing, quality assurance).
Expert knowledge of relevant industry regulations and regulatory compliance.
Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying federal and state laws and regulations and guidance or operational risk principles/concepts.
Solid knowledge of testing techniques including control testing and data analysis principles, as well as the ability to interpret subsequent results.
Consistent track record to communicate effectively at all levels of management.
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

Proven experience with managing test lifecycle (e.g., risk based scope planning, fieldwork execution, population sampling, reporting and issue management).
