The Opportunity
We are seeking a dedicated Enterprise Security Business Risk and Controls Advisor I positioned lockstep with the business to ensure overall effectiveness of risk and compliance management programs, risk analytics, and operations in the business.
The candidate selected for this position is going to support the leaders within the Enterprise Security Group. They will play a crucial role in identifying, assessing, and mitigating potential business risks and helping respective business partners to drive implementation of strong controls and processes. As a Business Risks and Controls Advisor, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with cross-functional teams, analyze complex data, and provide valuable insights to help safeguard our organization from potential threats. We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week . This position will be based out of his position can be based out of the San Antonio; TX, Plano; TX , Phoenix; AZ, Tampa; FL, Colorado Springs; CO or Charlotte; NC office. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
Positioned in the first line of defense to ensure the overall effectiveness of risk and compliance management programs, risk analytics and operations in the business. This role will partner and collaborate with Compliance and Risk Management, as well as Business Operations, IT, Audit Services, and Regulators to support risk and compliance-based initiatives. Responsible for supporting business leader adherence to the established risk framework and ongoing supervision of business controls including risk and control self-assessments, identification and evaluation of control effectiveness, identifying control failures, facilitating risk and compliance remediation, internal and external audits and regulatory exams, and monitoring of the first line of defense to minimize risk exposures and strengthen the overall control environment. Manages risk assessment data and uses critical thinking to identify key data-driven insights tied to first line of defense.
What you'll do:
Advises the business on how to strengthen and manage their control environment pertaining to oversight of procedures/process, accurate regulatory reporting and filing, document governance, risk control self-assessments, procedure governance, control design, new product controls, CoSA Third Party Governance, or quality governance.
Performs ongoing supervision and oversight of business controls which may include the coordination of testing, root cause analysis, control design, and examining key risk metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of established business controls.
Performs risk data analysis, report preparation and trend analysis, utilizing business intelligence tools.
Partners with business owners to assist them in the identification of control failures and assesses the impact.
Assists with translating control deficiencies into action plans and facilitates effective and timely risk remediation through action plan oversight; provides recommendations to enhance governance practices in alignment with risk and compliance frameworks.
Maintains processes, procedures, and tools for managing exception alerts as they occur, including monitoring of resulting exception cases.
Provides control oversight to ensure compliance with laws and regulations.
Serves as a resource to team members.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
4 years of experience supporting risk-related, compliance-related, or business control design activities; OR 4 years of experience in a relevant quantitative discipline; OR Advanced degree or designation in a risk management or quantitative discipline, and 2 years of experience supporting risk-related, and/or compliance-related, or business control design activities; OR PhD in a risk management or quantitative discipline.
What sets you apart:
Working experience in Information Security, Physical Security, Privacy or closely related area.
Experience in identifying and writing risk and control descriptions.
Experience with creating initial control test scripts and facilitating control testing.
Ability to guide and advise on creation of new issues, to include identifying appropriate issue owner, documenting 4 C's, facilitating risk rating determination, and assist with root cause analysis.
Excellent communication skills, including the ability to effectively convey information and create compelling data visualizations to inform the business.
Ability to analyze process changes and understand upstream/downstream impacts.
Diligent approach with tried analytical and critical thinking skills.

You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $81,770- $156,290 .
Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

The Opportunity
As a dedicated Fraud Decision Science Analyst-Mid-Level, you will provide decision support for business areas across the enterprise. Staff in this area will be responsible for applying mathematical and statistical techniques and/or innovative /quantitative analytical approaches to draw conclusions and make 'insight to action' recommendations to answer business objectives and motivate change. The essence of work performed by the Fraud Decision Science Analyst Mid-Level involves gathering, manipulating, and synthesizing data (e.g., attributes, transactions, behaviors, etc.), models and other relevant information to draw conclusions and make recommendations resulting in implementable strategies.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position. This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel. However, any individual that resides within a 60-mile radius of the listed USAA office locations and able and willing to work 4 days from the office is preferred.

Translates recommendation into communication materials to effectively present to colleagues for peer review and mid-to-upper-level management.

Identifies and gathers the relevant and quality data sources required to fully answer and address the problem for the recommended strategy through testing or exploratory data analysis (EDA).

Thoroughly documents assumptions, methodology, validation and testing to facilitate peer reviews and compliance requirements.

What you have:
Bachelor's degree in quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or other quantitative discipline; OR 4 years of related experience in statistics, mathematics, or quantitative analytics (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
4 years of experience in data/analytics or functional business experience within the respective industry of responsibility (i.e., P&C, Bank, Finance)
OR
Advanced degree in quantitative analytics field such as Economics, Finance, Statistics, Mathematics, Actuarial Sciences, Operations Research, Data and/or Business Analysis, Data Science, or other quantitative discipline with 2 years' experience in data/analytics or functional business experience within the respective industry of responsibility (i.e., P&C, Bank, Finance).
Demonstrates competency in mathematical and statistical techniques and approaches used to drive fact-based decision-making.
Intermediate and some advanced knowledge of data analysis tools, data visualization, developing analysis queries and procedures in SQL, SAS, BI tools or other analysis software, and relevant industry data & methods and ability to connect external insights to business problems.

US military experience through military service or a military spouse/domestic partner.
Fraud experience.
Experience with a scripting language (VBA, Perl, JavaScript, Python).
Bachelor's or Master's in a quantitative discipline.
4+ years' experience in the financial industry, fraud experience preferred.
4+ years' experience with Excel in performing data analysis, visualization, and reporting.
4+ years' experience programming with SQL. Must be able to write complex queries to manipulate large data sets.
4+ years' experience performing data validation and building executive reports for management.
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills and a basic understanding of statistics.
Strong communication skills, attention to detail and passion for excellence.

The Opportunity
As a Property General Adjuster, you will work within defined guidelines and framework to investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle the highest complexity property insurance claims presented by or against our members. You will confirm/analyze coverage, recognize liability exposure and negotiate equitable settlement in compliance with all state regulatory requirements. You will recognize and empathize with members' life events, as appropriate.

Manages assigned claims caseload comprised of claims with highest complexity damages that require considerable knowledge and understanding of claims coverage.
Partners with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate highest complexity claims resolution. May also involve external regulatory coordination to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance.
Extensive evaluation for highly complex claims, involving lengthy research and determination of settlement. Proactively identifies and engages in additional confirmation of potential discrepancies resulting from research involving complicated situations.
Serves as a resource for less experience staff on complicated claim situations.
Determines coverage through analyzing extensive information involving highly complex policy terms, including claim resolution.

The Opportunity
As a dedicated physical damage specialist, you are responsible for building relationships and providing oversight of our third-party vendors through virtual or in person interactions with members, claimants, and third-party personnel. 4 years auto physical damage estimating experience.
Currently possess or acquire and maintain individual I-CAR Platinum Pro-Level 3 certification within 12 months of hire.

Effectively communicates through multiple channels to include utilization of digital tools to drive speed, accuracy, and service.

Research industry trends and evolving regulatory environment (state and national), improving understanding of meaningful technical/financial issues.
Use Agency Management Systems/Customer Relations Management (CRM) & multiple carrier Platforms to operate comfortably at an advanced level to appropriately select product and carrier offerings.
Apply Carrier guidelines and processes to partner and negotiate with underwriters on endorsements, renewal questions, and remarkets for underwriting determination (approval or declination).
Calculate Insurance to Value (ITV) on a wide range of property types and structures including geographic differences and capture custom or unique features within the properties and provide appropriate details to settle accurate replacement values.
Provide select account service for member's and nonmember's including policy changes, certificates, endorsements, renewals, non-renewals and remarkets, cancellations, reinstatements, and record updates within agency systems.
Facilitate initial acquisition of Affluent members, nonmembers, and business owners by gaining an understanding of the members and nonmembers' risk profile by providing a concierge, white glove, single point of contact service level for members and nonmembers with complex accounts and unique needs.
May work with underwriters on sophisticated accounts across management lines and Excess and Surplus for renewals, endorsements, and remarketing.
Ensure risks associated with business activities are optimally identified, measured, supervised, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
High School Diploma OR General Equivalency Diploma.
2 years of insurance sales and service experience to include 1 year of experience working in a High Value insurance agency, Commercial Insurance agency or broker setting.

The Opportunity
As an Associate Retirement Income Specialist you will ensure the financial security of our membership by assessing member's current retirement income needs, providing advice, and making the appropriate recommendations based on member needs.
This position is a hybrid work type and can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX; Plano, TX; Phoenix, AZ; Charlotte, NC; Colorado Springs, CO or Tampa, FL. What you'll do:
Receives request for advice from current and prospective members through various channels, including inbound and outbound phone calls.

Motivates member to take action on recommendation(s) and overcomes objections using basic sales techniques and developing persuasion skills. Implements recommendation(s).
Familiar with the latest retirement strategy research and monitors legislative initiatives that may impact economy, society, and personal financial situation.
Educates membership on implications of economic, industry trends, tax law changes, estate issues, retirement risks, and other threats to an effective retirement income plan, as well as USAA's financial products and services.
Integrates risk management tools, products, and strategies to create an effective retirement income plan.
May be expected to conduct outbound calls to follow up on products and services previously discussed.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
Valid Life/Health license and required maintenance and/or ability to acquire within 90 days of hire.
The ability to obtain FINRA Licenses 7 & 66 and/or 7 & 65/63 within 12 months from hiring date or within 12 months of new role start date.
Must be able to successfully pass background check and licensing review. Additionally, applicant must have the ability to be licensed by USAA in all 50 states plus District of Columbia.

Develops and communicates appropriate retirement income strategies based on individual member needs. Provides retirement advice and strategies and understand the steps in creating an effective retirement income plan.
Recommends relevant financial product and services and refers for solutions that they are not trained and/or licensed to recommend or fulfill.
Motivates member to take action on recommendation(s) and overcomes objections using intermediate sales techniques and persuasion skills. Implements recommendation(s).
Familiar with the latest retirement strategy research and monitors legislative initiatives that may impact economy, society, and personal financial situation.
Educates membership on implications of economic, industry trends, tax law changes, estate issues, retirement risks, and other threats to an effective retirement income plan, as well as USAA's financial products and services.
Integrate risk management tools, products, and strategies to create an effective retirement income plan.
May be expected to conduct outbound calls to follow up on products and services previously discussed and to actively engage in outbound call campaigns as needed.
Collaborates with team members to resolve issues and to identify appropriate issues for escalation.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma required.
Active Group 1 Life & Health license
Active, in good standing, and maintained FINRA 7 license
Active, in good standing, and maintained FINRA Series 66 (or 63 & 65) license
Must be able to successfully pass background check and meet all USAA and regulatory requirements. Additionally, applicant must have the ability to be licensed and registered in all required states and jurisdictions.
1 year of financial industry and/or sales experience.
Experience delivering frequent written and oral communication.
Experience processing and analyzing information.
Experience fulfilling requests and meeting deadlines.
Experience resolving conflict and negotiating.
Experience multi-tasking in an operating systems environment

As a dedicated Workforce Management Analyst II, you will be responsible for creating and maintaining Bank phone representatives schedules. You will also own the skilling strategy for your lines of business.
Responsible for contact or claims center workforce management performance (ex. daily staff requirements, schedule efficiency, and time off). Provides front-line contact center managers and employees guidance and direction for scheduling and time off processes. Monitors contact or claims center trends to plan to maximize efficiency and ensure the contact or claims center meets key performance metrics.
We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Plano, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. Relocation assistance is not available for this position.
What you'll do:
Responsible for developing contact or claims center schedules to ensure maximum efficiency of resources to meet member demand.
Responsible for proactively identifying contact or claims center scheduling gaps utilizing business and strategic supplier data. Provides insights and recommendations on process improvements based on data insights.
Maintains business schedule processes and data to ensure effective alignment of schedules to business demand.
Maintains effective relationships with suppliers and cross-functional departments to ensure service level objectives are met.
Builds and maintains internal and external business partner relationships to proactively identify, report, and resolve scheduling issues and deliver on performance.
Maintains oversight and update authority to skill template management to ensure MSR skill sets align with MSR role / peer group supporting contact center strategy.
Participates in workforce strategy projects; engages appropriate areas within Call Center Solutions or Claims Workforce Management to review and validate strategies.
Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
What you have:
Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree
2 years of experience in workforce management planning within a contact or claims center environment.
Proficient knowledge and application of workforce management tools & data analysis tools, telecommunications tools, and contact center routing systems.
Working experience with workforce management tools and/or software such as NICE IEX.
Relationship skills, verbal and written communication and ability to identify root cause / solutions.
Proficient in Microsoft Office software tools to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
