The Opportunity

Aligns Company, Enterprise, and Brand strategic objectives to maximize the discovery, delivery, and performance of digital/technology solutions products. Understands the full breadth of design from human behavior and building empathy through design research, to detailed production and supporting agile development teams. Manages multiple concurrent teams through all stages of development: from empathy and ideation to final coding/deployment and is responsible for overall quality and design vision. Critical steward of planning, defining, designing and executing new creative solutions primarily within the digital channels and platforms. Directly contributes to establishing and achieving broader Chief Design Office strategic plans that further the organization's vision and responsibilities

What you'll do:

  • Role models USAA's mission, core values, culture and desired behaviors - including a culture of risk and regulatory awareness and accountability balanced with innovation and member-service orientation

  • Provides support, leadership and guidance to other design domains as needed

  • Identifies new and improved ways to streamline the design process inside design teams, leveraging emerging technologies

  • Acts as a thought leader, inspiring great design across all USAA organizations

  • Fosters transparency, candor, critique, continuous learning and accountability at a high standard across Chief Design Organization

  • Exhibits a high level of executive presence and presentation with the ability to contribute to business initiatives across USAA

  • Oversees research, design and development of concepts that aligns employee and members' needs with business or enterprise objectives, while advancing USAA transformation into a design-led organization

  • Leads the design review and approval process and ensures consistent alignment with USAA and industry design standards and guidelines

  • Fosters a culture of transparency and healthy challenge via design critique, continuous learning and accountability for high standards of quality

  • Partners with and influences Enterprise, IT, and Business Leaders to mature integration of design into all experiences

  • Works in very close collaboration with all Design executives to create breadth as well as depth of knowledge across domains

  • Collaborates with other design domain teams and/or DesignOps, Design Language Systems and Design Practice teams (these 3 areas are collectively known as Design Enablement) to drive transformation by establishing and delivering design concepts and final solutions that enable elegant solutions to business problems through employee and member empathy

  • Holds self and others accountable for meeting commitments by setting and clearly communicating expectations and roles and responsibilities relative to design operations and services

  • Owns the relationship management responsibilities for internal business executives and external design agencies for their area of focus

  • Builds and leads high-performing design teams by attracting and hiring the best talent and providing a nurturing yet challenging environment

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures

What you have:

Minimum Education:

  • Bachelor's Degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree

Minimum Experience:

  • 10 years of progressive related design experience developing digital product and experience strategies, managing major initiatives and delivering compelling design solutions within a complex matrix environment

  • 6 years of direct design team leadership or leading matrixed or cross-functional creative teams and experience in building, managing and/or developing high performing design teams

  • Demonstrated experience in digital product and/or service design, experience design, design research and human center design approaches

  • Experience collaborating with key resources and stakeholders, influencing decisions and managing work to achieve strategic goals

  • Fluency in current and emerging design and interaction standards across multiple channels

  • Excellent communication, presentation and organizational skills

  • Executive level business acumen in the areas of business operations, industry practices and emerging trends

What sets you apart:

  • Experience in a Design Operations role that strategically focused on optimizing and managing the operational side of a design team, to include managing multiple design teams (10+ teams)

  • Experience in establishing efficient processes, tools, and systems to enhance the overall productivity and creativity of the design team. Including balancing the needs of design projects with the resources available, ensuring that the team can deliver high-quality work effectively and on time

What we offer:

Compensation:

USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market position. The salary range for this position is: $216,750 - $390,150

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance or at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.

Long Term Incentive Plan: Cash payment for Executive level roles only, representing a cash payment which is both time and performance based.

We are looking for a Lead Agile Product Owner for the Bank. This is an individual contributor position. Works directly with the Bank agile team to prioritize work to derive business outcomes while delivering on the team's commitments and ensuring the voice of the customer is strongly represented. Accountable for making decisions and prioritizing the team backlog to drive business outcomes in service to the Business strategy. Acts as 'voice of the end-user'. What you'll do:

  • Partners with Bank agile team to develop, translate and drive the vision and strategy to key stakeholders and team members on Bank products to include member satisfaction. Leads the team in ensuring understand business requirements for effective Bank product solutions.

  • Partners with the Team-of-Team Lead to clarify and drive alignment on the business strategy, goals, and objectives. Translates this understanding into a clear vision for the Bank agile team to inform the creation and prioritization of the Bank agile team's backlog of work.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders from the Bank and IT to determine business needs required for implementing strategic objectives and deliver quality and innovative solutions.

  • Partners with Team-of-Team Lead to define and clearly communicate acceptance criteria for output based on business requirements and customer needs. Drives execution of successful objective implementation for Bank products and customer experience.

  • Solves unique problems with broad impact on the business; requires an innovative, data-driven approach to decision making including allocating funds and developing and tracking OKRs that drive product success.

  • Accountable for setting and delivering against Bank agile team-level OKRs.

  • Acts as -voice of the end-user-.

  • Proactively seeks customer feedback to learn and better understand their needs and requirements to ensure end user value is delivered to the marketplace.

  • Owns Bank agile team backlog (grooming, prioritization, and refinement).

What you have:

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree; OR 4+ years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 8+ years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis or directly related to supported business operations/product line.

  • Knowledge of multiple technical software delivery methodologies (ie: Agile, Waterfall, SAFe) with a proven track record in using these skills to develop and manage products through the entire product life cycle.

  • Expert experience in analyzing business requirements, process flows and use cases to identify opportunities to streamline business processes in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.

  • Expert understanding and demonstrated use of Process Engineering methodologies and Change Management practices to translate business requirements into functional specifications.

  • Experience in engineering methodologies and Change Management practices to translate business requirements into functional specifications.

  • Extensive experience with applicable banking regulatory and compliance policies, including knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations.

  • Experience communicating complex ideas, anticipating potential objections and persuading others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.

The Opportunity

What you'll do:

  • With the use of digital tools, evaluates and appraises high complexity (total loss, total burn, theft recovered, heavy (non-drivable) auto claims in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, corporate guidelines and state laws and regulations.

  • Investigates claim damages including communicating with the insured and third-parties/vendors. May require face-to-face interactions with members and third parties.

  • Reviews facts of loss and vehicle damage to determine if subrogation opportunities exist and makes the appropriate, timely system referral.

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, contracts, and internal processes/systems/procedures to ensure compliance.

  • Reviews claims/suppliers for fraud indicators and refers to Special Investigative Unit for handling, if applicable.

  • Responsible for reviewing additional damages received from repair facilities to either complete a supplement or triage to field provider method of inspection.

  • May serve as a subject matter expert representative for disputed claims or trials. Serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues of a routine nature.

The Opportunity

As a dedicated Business Strategy & Planning Director , you will provide support and guidance to executive management to identify, develop and communicate specific business strategies across CoSA functional areas, utilizing expert knowledge of USAA, industry, business development, and financial planning. What you'll do:

  • With the use of digital tools, evaluates and appraises high complexity (total loss, total burn, theft recovered, heavy (non-drivable) auto claims in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, corporate guidelines and state laws and regulations.

  • Investigates claim damages including communicating with the insured and third-parties/vendors. May require face-to-face interactions with members and third parties.

  • Reviews facts of loss and vehicle damage to determine if subrogation opportunities exist and makes the appropriate, timely system referral.
