The Opportunity

As a Mid-Level Policy and Performance Underwriter for Underwriting Policy Mod Team , you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing personal lines P&C Underwriting processes and programs to ensure all underwriting processes are compliant, executed in a cost-efficient manner and effective in achieving desired outcomes. Partners with internal stakeholders to maintain P&C Underwriting policies and procedures while ensuring compliance with state regulations.

This position can work remotely in the continental U.S. with occasional business travel.

What you'll do:

  • Develops and implements underwriting guidelines, controls, and strategies consistent with company policy and goals.

  • Owns and manages multiple underwriting processes and leverages data to make data-driven recommendations with limited assistance

  • Responsible for projects, issues, or initiatives of moderate scope or medium and or high rated risks for underwriting processes and/or solutions.

  • Provides direction, advice and shares knowledge with other employees who execute on underwriting programs, guidelines, and processes.

  • Gathers and evaluates data to conduct root cause analysis and apply process-oriented approaches to identify and solve gaps within the process.

  • Supports new strategic and innovative business solutions to optimize and automate underwriting processes.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

What you'll have:

  • Bachelor's degree: OR 4 additional years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.

  • 4 years of direct P&C underwriting experience executing underwriting processes and application of insurance regulations and risk management processes.

  • Proficient knowledge of relevant industry practices, insurance policy contracts, trends, and regulatory requirements.

  • Experience in making data driven decisions to create actionable recommendations for performance improvement.

  • Experience in presenting analysis and findings to peers and management to gain support for recommendations and program/process changes.

  • Proficiency using Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and/or Access.

What sets you apart:

  • Extensive knowledge of Auto and/or Dwelling products, as well as underwriting philosophy and guidelines.

  • Strong technical expertise with Auto and/or Property Insurance, with a focus on Underwriting acceptability and premium accuracy programs.

  • Direct line of business process ownership experience to include analyzing business rules, finding opportunities, and developing recommendations.

  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities concurrently and work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Interested in working on Mod Underwriting.

The salary range for this position is: $61,110-$116,800.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Agile Product Owner (APO) for the Credit Card Rewards team delivering exceptional rewards & loyalty experiences for our members. This role will lead the Manage Rewards experience that enrolls members/accounts on rewards, maintains and awards the reward based on scoring. This APO will also directly work with an internal agile team.

Works directly with the Bank agile team to prioritize work to derive business outcomes while delivering on Bank agile team commitments and ensuring the voice of the customer is strongly represented. Accountable for making decisions and prioritizing the Bank agile team backlog to drive business outcomes in service to the Business strategy. Acts as 'voice of the end-user'. Brings a data-driven approach to decisions and impediment removal including strategic priorities and funding allocation. Sets product / value stream direction and ensures it is aligned with key stakeholders across the organization. Establishes a Bank agile team culture routed in transparency and learning, for seeking opportunities for testing & learning, continuous Bank agile team/process improvement and quality.

We offer a flexible work environment that requires an individual to be in the office 4 days per week. This position can be based in one of the following locations: San Antonio, TX, Phoenix, AZ, Colorado Springs, CO, Charlotte, NC, Chesapeake, VA or Tampa, FL. What you'll do:

  • Partners with Bank agile team to develop, translate and drive the vision and strategy to key stakeholders and team members on Bank products to include member satisfaction. Leads the Bank agile team in ensuring understand business requirements for effective Bank product solutions.

  • Partners with the Team-of-Team Lead to clarify and drive alignment on the business strategy, goals, and objectives. Translates this understanding into a clear vision for the team to inform the creation and prioritization of the team's backlog of work.

  • Collaborates with stakeholders from the Bank and IT to determine business needs required for implementing strategic objectives and deliver quality and innovative solutions.

  • Partners with Team-of-Team Lead to define and clearly communicate acceptance criteria for output based on business requirements and customer needs. Drives execution of successful objective implementation for Bank products and customer experience.

  • Solves unique problems with broad impact on the business; requires an innovative, data-driven approach to decision making including allocating funds and developing and tracking OKRs that drive product success.

  • Accountable for setting and delivering against Bank agile team-level OKRs.

  • Acts as -voice of the end-user-.

  • Proactively seeks customer feedback to learn and better understand their needs and requirements to ensure end user value is delivered to the marketplace.

  • Owns Bank agile team backlog (grooming, prioritization, and refinement).

  • Is accountable for maintaining a groomed backlog of user stories; works with the Bank agile team to estimate story size and complexity.

  • Optimizes the flow of value by assisting the multi-Bank agile team environment and progresses towards objectives, goals, and commitments, while removing impediments, resolving conflicts, and handling risks and issues that have a broad impact on the business.

What you have:

  • 8+ years of experience in process improvement, project delivery, business/requirements analysis or directly related to supported business operations/product line.

  • Knowledge of multiple technical software delivery methodologies (i.e., Agile, Waterfall, SAFe) with a proven track record in using these skills to develop and manage products through the entire product life cycle.

  • Expert experience in analyzing business requirements, process flows and use cases to identify opportunities to streamline business processes in accordance with risk management framework and regulatory requirements.

  • Expert understanding and demonstrated use of Process Engineering methodologies and Change Management practices to translate business requirements into functional specifications.

  • Experience in engineering methodologies and Change Management practices to translate business requirements into functional specifications.

  • Extensive experience with applicable banking regulatory and compliance policies, including knowledge of applicable laws, rules and regulations.

  • Experience communicating complex ideas, anticipating potential objections and persuading others, often at senior levels, to adopt a different point of view.

As a We are currently seeking a couple dedicated Field Sr. Auto Appraisers. This position will be primarily doing field inspections and virtual estimating in the North Atlanta, GA Metro area.

Within defined guidelines and framework responsible to investigate, evaluate and appraise vehicle damage claims for both repairable and total loss vehicles to ensure estimate accuracy in compliance with state laws and regulations. Accountable for delivering exceptional member service through setting appropriate expectations, proactive communications, advice, and emotional intelligence.

The Opportunity

What you'll do:

  • With the use of digital tools, evaluates and appraises high complexity (total loss, total burn, theft recovered, heavy (non-drivable) auto claims in accordance with the terms and conditions of the contract, corporate guidelines and state laws and regulations.

  • Investigates claim damages including communicating with the insured and third-parties/vendors. May require face-to-face interactions with members and third parties.

  • Reviews facts of loss and vehicle damage to determine if subrogation opportunities exist and makes the appropriate, timely system referral.

  • Demonstrates advanced knowledge of P&C insurance industry products, services, contracts, and internal processes/systems/procedures to ensure compliance.

  • Reviews claims/suppliers for fraud indicators and refers to Special Investigative Unit for handling, if applicable.

  • Maintains accurate and current claim file documentation throughout the claims process for complex claims. Includes mapping of repair plan and timeline for repair.

  • Responsible for reviewing additional damages received from repair facilities to either complete a supplement or triage to field provider method of inspection.

  • May serve as a subject matter expert representative for disputed claims or trials. Serves as a resource to team members on escalated issues of a routine nature.

  • Partners with vendors and internal business partners to facilitate the highest complexity claims resolution. May also involve external regulatory coordination to ensure appropriate documentation and compliance.

  • Explains coverage, assists policyholders with information on repairs and describes the settlement process, setting appropriate expectations. Issues settlement amounts for damages claimed.

  • Supports workload surges and/or Catastrophe Operations as needed which may involve volunteering for extended hours. May serve as permanent member of the APD Catastrophe team.

  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an Agile Product Owner (APO) for the Credit Card Rewards team delivering exceptional rewards & loyalty experiences for our members. This role will lead the Manage Rewards experience that enrolls members/accounts on rewards, maintains and awards the reward based on scoring. This APO will also directly work with an internal agile team.

Works directly with the Bank agile team to prioritize work to derive business outcomes while delivering on Bank agile team commitments and ensuring the voice of the customer is strongly represented. Accountable for making decisions and prioritizing the Bank agile team backlog to drive business outcomes in service to the Business strategy. Acts as 'voice of the end-user'. What you'll do:

  • Partners with Bank agile team to develop, translate and drive the vision and strategy to key stakeholders and team members on Bank products to include member satisfaction. Leads the Bank agile team in ensuring understand business requirements for effective Bank product solutions.

The Opportunity

We are seeking a dedicated Data Scientist Senior for our Enterprise Data & Analytics Office. In this role, a candidate will be expected to develop models for various stakeholders across our organization which may include engagements with marketing, banking or insurance business partners. They may work with vendors to understand and document models, prepare performance monitoring plans and execute model monitoring post-production to ensure models continue to meet business needs and are fit for purpose.

As a dedicated Intermediate Fraud Prevention and Detection Specialist, you will, within defined guidelines and framework, apply basic analytical skills on high risk financial and non-financial transactions to detect and prevent fraudulent activities for a wide range of enterprise financial products and services.   • 4 years Digital/Technology Product Management experience, to include Digital/Technology experience in Strategy/Planning, Innovation, User Experience, Process Engineering, Analytics, Research/Testing. 1 year of Customer Contact Channel experience within Insurance or Financial services industry will take place of 1 year of the minimum experience required.

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively develop, present, influence, and communicate business decisions.

  • Knowledge of Agile Methodology.

Compensation: USAA has an effective process for assessing market data and establishing ranges to ensure we remain competitive. You are paid within the salary range based on your experience and market data of the position. The actual salary for this role may vary by location. The salary range for this position is: $89,990 - $172,000 .

Employees may be eligible for pay incentives based on overall corporate and individual performance and at the discretion of the USAA Board of Directors.
