kW Mission Critical Engineering, a WSP company, is looking for a Senior Mechanical Engineer in our Tempe, AZ office. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer with us, you will design complex cooling and HVAC systems including air distribution systems, chiller plants, and alternative energy solutions while leading projects and a team of mechanical engineers.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Produce high quality technical and professional deliverables for projects and proposals

• Design complex and large air distribution (supply, return, exhaust) and hydronic systems (chilled water, heating water, etc.)

• Design Automatic building automation controls systems and specification for large air distribution and heat rejection systems

• Work within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawing and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building owners

• Attend client meetings and lead discussions

• Communicate complex mechanical engineering concepts and decisions to clients and stakeholders

• Directing complex mechanical engineering requirements and integrate into facility designs

• Collaborate and coordinate with internal project discipline team members and external equipment vendors and manufacturers

• Act as the lead mechanical engineer on projects and direct the project team

• Lead and mentor a team of engineers

• Perform project management activities including writing proposals, establishing budgets, and managing client interactions

• Coordinate activities concerned with technical development, scheduling, and resolving engineering design issues

• Survey and evaluate existing conditions

• Perform construction administration

Who You Are:

The ideal candidate is a technically sound mechanical engineer with the ability to lead and develop complex projects and foster the growth of junior engineers. Candidate has strong communication skills, and an interest in developing and maintaining relationships with internal and external design, client, and construction team members. Candidate is willing to travel to client sites.

Minimum Requirements:

• Proven history of Mechanical or Architectural Engineering with mechanical building systems emphasis

• 10+ years of experience in designing mechanical systems for the high performing, commercial, industrial or mission critical/data center buildings

• Experience mentoring and training others in field

• Strong verbal and written communication skills

• Ability to interact well with others as well as develop and contribute to high quality technical and professional deliverables on projects and proposals

• Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems and codes

Preferred Qualifications:

• Registered Professional Engineer (PE)

• Experience with the analysis of interior and exterior Computational Fluid Dynamics of airflow

• Mission Critical/Data Center experience

• Experience with international projects and knowledge of international codes and standards

Who You Are

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Mine Engineering in an accredited Mining Engineering, or related, Undergraduate or Graduate program.

• Prior internship experience, leadership experience, or relevant coursework

• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.

• Registered, or have the ability to register, as a Professional Engineer in the USA, depending on office location;

• Previous internship and relevant experience in underground & surface mine planning, design and scheduling.

• Experience with Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

• Appropriate experience in utilizing mine planning, design and scheduling software packages such as Vulcan, Deswick, Datamine, MineScape, Whittle, XPAC and Spry;

• Fluent in English with fluency in other languages (e.g. French, Spanish, Portuguese) considered an asset;

• Excellent communication skills including report writing and presentation skills;

• Ability to travel internationally and to remote project locations.

• Independently support the project team during design and construction stages of projects

This Opportunity

WSP USA is seeking a CADD Manager to join our Team in Dallas, TX !

Provides technical design and CADD support, guidance, and oversight to ensure the production of designs and specifications to be used for planning, transportation, infrastructure, and technical services business lines. Responsibilities involve overseeing and generating CADD designs on various multi-site/phase construction projects of moderate to larger scale, scope, and/or complexity. Generates and substantiates accurate and concise design phase deliverables including reports, technical memoranda, design manuals, plans and profiles, models, sections, details, specifications, models, and material lists. Ensures that responsibilities are delivered and adhered to with a level of quality that meets or exceeds acceptable industry standards for design, accuracy, and functionality.

Your Impact

• Collect, compile, and analyze data from the physical work site, surveys, structural concepts, blueprints, schematics, data, verbal or written specifications, technical drawings, rough sketches, diagrams, and other matrices to support drafting and design activities for single, multi-phase, or multi-site project work.

• Use 3D computer-aided design and drafting (CADD) software and work closely with engineers to resolve design details or discrepancies, and to prepare drawings which require a high degree of precision on projects of moderate- to large-scale, complexity, and/or scope.

• Follows standard practices to provide technical design assistance and guidance that accounts for the proper illustration, fit form, and function using geometric dimensioning, tolerance and quantity calculations, while ensuring the construction and maintainability of designs according to design standard specifications and code requirements.

• Acts as consultant regarding work progress and problem resolution; may serve as the only Drafting/Design Support resource on a project or assist in overseeing Drafting/Design Support activities for projects of a moderate/large scope and complexity within a district.

• Monitor and verify accuracy of calculations, design, change orders, interpretation of contract plans and specifications, recognizing moderate to slightly intricate construction or engineering problems and escalating or resolving any differences, errors, or technical problems for appropriate resolution.

• Work as an individual or as part of a cross-functional team to execute project work; occasionally leading tasks and Drafting/Design Support staff on technical assignments.

• Assure plans adhere to city code, state and federal regulations.

• Prepare multiple versions of designs for review by engineer.

• Monitor and oversee drafting and design plans to ensure quality control and contract compliance; documenting work progress and issues arising throughout scope of project.

• Work collaboratively with the engineer-in-charge and other technical professionals on assigned project phases, segments, checks, and tasks.

• Apply analytical techniques and software to solve more larger-scale and complex engineering issues on projects, or to modify or redesign existing designs in accordance with project standards and specifications.

WSP is currently initiating a search for a Senior Project Controller to join our expanding, Earth and Environment (E&E) Project Management group based in Costa Mesa, CA. The Senior Project Controller will be involved in selected stages of a project's life cycle (i.e. Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring and Control, and/or Closure) for consulting services related to earth and environment projects including site characterization and remediation, environmental permitting and compliance, water/wastewater treatment, and mining. Most components of this role will relate to engineering and/or environmental consulting scopes. The role will be focused on technical practice areas in our earth and environment business such as site assessment and remediation, geotechnical engineering, geosciences, surface water, and groundwater in aspects of projects ranging from site characterization, permitting and planning, desktop analyses, feasibility studies, research and detailed design. This project coordinator role will work closely with project managers and technical managers and ensure the correct delivery of projects within budget and schedule.

Your Impact

• Setting up and coordinating the project according to the approach outlined in the WSP's Project Delivery Manual and in line with established quality control procedures.

• Coordinate with project manager, project team and client: monitoring and control of budgets, expenditures, schedules, progress deliverables, forecast, invoicing, change management, resourcing requirements, logistics coordination, document control, proposal preparation and project closeout activities.

• invoicing (checking bill rates, contract compliance, correct reference to project and client PO, correct billing dates, etc.) using company specific business systems (supported by Oracle)

• budget and financial forecasting using company specific business systems (supported by Oracle)

• resolve issues that arise related to schedule, budget, invoicing, etc. keep PM appraised of situation and escalate as appropriate.

• The Project Controller will assist PMs with large projects and/or large portfolio of projects, with the preparation, compilation, and professional delivery of project data.
