Outside of typical accounting duties, Assistant Controllers at Waste Connections are involved in Operations, Sales, Customer Service, and more. Working with the other departments might include riding along with drivers and our sales team, or getting familiar with our billing system by sitting with a Customer Service Representative. As an Assistant Controller at Waste Connections, your success is dependent on your ability to understand the many facets of the business to be able to provide the necessary support of being a true business partner to the District Managers.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
Relocation for advancement or promotional opportunities
Assist in the preparation of monthly financial statements, annual budgets, audits and system implantations.
Support operations personnel with daily, weekly and monthly metric calculations
Must be a self-starter with the initiative to learn and a great work ethic
Intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel and related accounting business systems

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to perform and train team members on repairs and assigned preventative maintenance services including inspections, diagnosis, and repair of electrical, hydraulics, suspension, brake and air systems on vehicles and equipment.
Responsible for approximately 45 pieces of equipment.
Communicate with site leadership on personnel needs and development.
Utilize vehicle computer electronic systems to interpret failure modes to initiate or assign repairs.
Complete required paperwork utilizing fleet maintenance software program associated with repairing vehicles, documenting parts usage, and accounting for repair times.
Reviews, completes, or assigns repairs identified on Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports.
Conducts safety checks on vehicles and equipment. Ensures safety protocols are maintained by all shop staff.
Maintain a clean, safe work environment in compliance with corporate and OSHA standards.
Maintain a clean and orderly parts room
Report fuel and bulk oil levels daily.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND PHYSICAL EFFORT:
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
Work environment may be indoors in a shop, or outdoors to repair trucks on the road. Usually well-lighted and ventilated. Sometimes necessary to work in awkward or tight positions and to handle greasy or dirty tools. These factors require following basic safety precautions.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:
Minimum 1-3 years of experience that is directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified.
Must provide own personal tools.
Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement preferred

What we do: We provide trash and disposal services to the local community. You, a vital piece of the team, would be responsible for safely operating a Commercial CDL Truck delivering dumpster containers to customers, while providing the best service in the industry. This includes duties such:
Safely driving a Commercial CDL Truck into a variety of environments (Residential, Construction, Commercial, etc.).
Determine the best, convenient drop off location for dumpster, to avoid property damage.
Cautiously operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load Dumpster on/off truck.
Secure the Dumpster Load, cover appropriately and account for weight shift before departing
Ability to read route sheets and service each customer identified on the sheet or assigned by the dispatcher.
Perform daily pre and post trip inspections.
Interact courteously with your customers
Other miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned.
What we work with: Trash is heavy! Sometimes we have machines aid our efforts. Other times we do not. And this is a service provided year round - Rain, snow or shine. Hot or cold. Be prepared to work in all environments, around heavy diesel equipment. Not to mention dirty ones. Plan for the following labor:
Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work with consistent walking; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 75 pounds. Exiting/exiting high set truck. Walking. Moderate noise level.
Work environment involves some exposure to physical risks such as moving mechanical parts. Which require following basic safety precautions.
Exposure to outside weather, including frequent wet and/or humid conditions, as well as exposure to fumes and vibration.
At the end of the day, we go home knowing we leave a smiling customer!

Waste Connections is growing and adding a Network Technician to our Corporate Offices in The Woodlands, Texas. The Network Technician's role is to plan and coordinate the design, installation, and connectivity of computer, network systems, camera systems, and phone systems throughout the United States and Canada. This includes developing, configuring, maintaining, supporting and optimizing all new and existing network hardware, software, and communication links. The Network Technician will also troubleshoot network performance issues in a timely and accurate manner and provide end user training where required. The Network Technician will supervise independent contractors hired for special projects. This position travels 20-40% of the time.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
Install network, phone and camera systems
Assess near and long term network capacity needs and design and implement strategic plans to make certain capacity meets growing demand.
In conjunction with other IT employees, create and maintain documentation as it relates to network configuration, mapping, processes, and service records.
Develop and deploy methodologies for testing network performance and provide network performance statistics and reports.
Oversee new and existing equipment, hardware, and software upgrades relating to network or telephone equipment.
Develop and implement a replacement plan for network infrastructure components at local sites.
Monitor the work of equipment vendors during installations and hardware performance issues.

Waste Connections will provide fully paid CDL schooling to motivated individuals who are eager to learn and grow within the transportation industry.
As a Driver Trainee, you will undergo thorough training under the guidance of experienced professionals to become a proficient and safe commercial driver and obtain your Commercial Driver's License (CDL). Upon completion of your schooling, you will join our Waste Connections of Louisiana team, as well as have future promotional growth opportunities at Waste Connections sites around the country.
Key Responsibilities:
Participate in classroom and hands-on training sessions to learn about commercial driving regulations, vehicle operation, safety procedures, and company policies.
Shadow experienced drivers to observe and learn best practices for vehicle operation, navigation, and customer interaction.
Assist with pre-trip inspections, vehicle maintenance tasks, and loading/unloading procedures as required.
Follow instructions from trainers and supervisors to develop essential driving skills, including proper maneuvering, backing, and defensive driving techniques.
Complete assigned training modules, exams, and evaluations to assess progress and readiness for CDL testing.
Maintain accurate records of training activities, hours logged, and performance evaluations.
Adhere to all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies at all times.
Communicate effectively with trainers, supervisors, and team members to address questions, concerns, and feedback.
Minimum Job Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
Ability to pass DOT physical exam and drug/alcohol screenings.
Excellent communication skills and ability to follow instructions.
Strong commitment to safety, professionalism, and customer service.
Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, as needed.
Ability to lift and move heavy objects, as required.
Must be at least 21 years old.

Job Responsibilities:
Performing monthly financial close functions through preparation of financial statements for each designated operating location.
Reconciliation of all general ledger accounts
Monthly narrative analysis of significant financial variances to budget and forecast.
Monthly completion of a three-month financial forecast.
Rate analysis and review
Effective ongoing communication of financial related information to business counterparts.
Managing flow of accounting data to/from remote facilities
Assisting with quarterly Sarbanes Oxley compliance and review.
Planning and participating in the annual financial budget process.
Providing training to non-financial personnel on internal control compliance, accounting procedures and financial statement review.
Some site and meeting travel and potential for relocation opportunities.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, required
Minimum 2 years of accounting experience, required
The ability to relocate within the first 12-18 months is required.
Public Accounting experience preferred
Budgeting experience preferred
Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills

Schedule is Monday - Friday, 4AM start time with 8 to 10 hour work days . Occasional Saturdays as needed.
Starting pay is $24.00 per hour . Pay range for this job category is $24-$27 per hour , depending on experience.

We are looking for a safety conscious Equipment Operator to join the team in Cleveland, TN .
In this position you will be operating equipment such as bulldozers, wheel loaders, excavators, and off road dump trucks. You will be responsible for routine inspection and maintenance on the equipment such as checking oil, water, and tires.
This is a physical job working outside in all weather conditions.
Monday-Friday day shift starting around 6:30am, with occasional Saturdays.
