A Day in the Life of an Operations Supervisor:

Assign and supervise work crews operating solid waste collection equipment.

Must Have:

Waste Connections is looking for a safety conscious CDL Garbage Truck Driver to join the team at our location in H azard, KY .

In this position you will be operating a rear load garbage truck on a residential route. This is a very physical position working outside in all weather conditions, requiring regular heavy lifting and climbing in and out of the truck. Monday-Friday day shift starting around 5:00 am, with an occasional Saturdays as needed. Averaging about 55 hours a week.

Job Description:

• Performs complete pre-trip inspection including, but not limited to, checking tire pressure, fluid levels, safety equipment, gauges and controls.

• Drives heavy diesel truck to and from customer locations and disposal area(s).

• Moves waste bin to position accessible by truck and closes all enclosure gates, as necessary.

• Operates hydraulic hand controls to lift/load refuse, operate compactor and dispose of collected material at the designated facility.

• Cleans waste from the packer blade and truck body on each landfill or transfer station run.

• Courteous interaction with customers, dispatchers and supervisors.

• Cleans up the area around accidental waste spills.

• Reads route sheets to determine day's schedule and services each customer as identified on the route sheet or as assigned by dispatcher or supervisor.

• Completes required route/productivity sheets, Vehicle Condition Reports (VCRs) and other forms.

• Performs all driver check-in procedures upon returning to the facility at the end of the day.

• Follows all safety policies and procedures.

• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

• Valid Class B CDL with air brakes endorsement

• As verified by a current MVR/driver abstract, must meet all qualifications as defined under DOT regulation 49 CFR 383.51

• Equivalent of high school diploma or G.E.D. certification

• Have knowledge of truck components in order to complete pre-and post-trip inspection

• Possess a clean safety and driving record

• Be able to learn and use interpersonal skills relating to good customer service

• Be able to lift 50 pounds

• This position pays 21 dollars an hour working 48 to 52 hours a week. everything after 40 hours is paid overtime.

  What we do: We provide trash and disposal services to the local community. You, a vital piece of the team, would be responsible for safely operating a Commercial CDL Truck delivering dumpster containers to customers, while providing the best service in the industry. This includes duties such:

• Safely driving a Commercial CDL Truck into a variety of environments (Residential, Construction, Commercial, etc.).

• Determine the best, convenient drop off location for dumpster, to avoid property damage.

• Cautiously operate hydraulic hand controls to lift/load Dumpster on/off truck.

• Secure the Dumpster Load, cover appropriately and account for weight shift before departing
