Water Resources Project Engineer performing as a stormwater design task lead on both small and large complex projects.
Primary Focus Will Include:
Assign and delegate tasks to successfully complete the stormwater design component for projects in support of other HNTB disciplines, as well as projects within the Water Group.
Ensure delivery of projects meets HNTB's 4 for 4 performance: delivery of quality work, on time, on budget, and to the clients satisfaction.
Provide technical training and guidance to junior engineers.
Perform quality reviews of engineering calculations, models, and reports.
Preferred Qualifications and Skills:
Master's degree in Engineering
8 years relevant experience
Professional Engineer (PE) certification
DOT experience
Stormwater modeling experience
What You'll Need
Essential Responsibilities:
Responsible for the planning and distribution of discipline-specific work, and adherence the to the schedule and budget on projects.
Assists in marketing responsibilities, including proposal generation.
Assists with the development of scope of work and level of effort for projects and/or assignments within discipline.
Oversees completeness and accuracy of project team's work within the technical discipline. Guides and mentors team to overall project objectives.
Coordinates technical aspects of project with client counterpart and teaming partners at staff level for work within the discipline.

Coordinates schedules among internal stakeholders and third-party vendors through project completion. Assists offices with facilities management, maintenance requests, and in the acquisition of office signage.
Reviews and negotiates lease terms and language. Participates in the lease review process in collaboration with outside counsel. Maintains lease information and other documentation, as applicable, in the lease administration database.
Prepares project reports, budgets reports by each office location, and other various financial reports on a monthly and/or annual basis.
Submits invoices for payment processing and partners with the internal accounting team to process and reconcile monthly rental payments. Reviews operating expense reconciliations, tax, and insurance charges to ensure compliance with lease agreements.

Prior to any contract review conducts project risk assessment (PRA) with team to assess project scope detail and value/risk profile to be used as basis for contract review. Using PRA conducts thorough, context sensitive review of professional service contracts and project documentation to assess risks and compliance with company's contracting policies, procedures and insurance program. Prepares and communicate risk assessments and responses to specific inquiries.
Educates project managers and project analysts in the basics of risk assessment and the role of Contracting & Claims (C&C) in contract review and risk evaluation as well as the overall role of Enterprise Operations (EO) regarding Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Cash. Prepares and communicate risk assessments and responses to specific inquiries.
Educates project managers and project analysts in the basics of risk assessment and the role of Contracting & Claims (C&C) in contract review and risk evaluation as well as the overall role of Enterprise Operations (EO) regarding Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) and Cash.
