This position proactively supports the US Navy Commander, Naval Air Force, US Atlantic Fleet's (COMNAVAIRLANT) Carrier Engineering Maintenance Assist Team (CEMAT) Project, for shipboard Auxiliary Engineering Equipment including Air Conditioning and Refrigeration, Pumps, Water Heaters, Solid Waste Processing Equipment and HP / LP Air Compressors. Duties will include training and mentoring junior personnel (coworkers and customers - ships force personnel) in techniques and processes used to assess, troubleshoot, maintain, repair, and operate systems and equipment while simultaneously performing hands on maintenance and repairs. #LI-MJ1

What you will do

  • Train Ship Force Personnel with the troubleshooting, repair and overhaul of Auxiliary Equipment onboard CVN- Class Aircraft Carriers using technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures.

  • May ride ships at sea for extended periods.

  • Travel may be required within and outside of the continental United States.

  • Applies comprehensive understanding of production and processes toward completion of assignments.

  • Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.

  • Performs a variety of complicated and non-routine tasks.

  • Develops and uses technical documents including controlled work packages, formal work processes and procedures, test documents, reports and task or trip reports.

  • Schedules, reports and briefs customers and senior management.

  • Performs duties outside of specialty in order to complete installation or work assignment.

  • May require wearing a respirator.

What you must have

  • Must have High School education or equivalent, and 4 years of related experience.

  • Must have ability to train, teach and/or mentor coworkers and customer personnel in maintenance procedures and troubleshooting techniques.

  • Must have the ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings and/or technical manuals.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain base access, CAC card, and a Confidential Security clearance.

The Role

The Role

The Role

This position is intended for candidates seeking an information systems based career opportunity within E25 Test Engineering. The candidate will be responsible for all aspects of the temporary ship LAN known as the Design Validation Test Program (DVTP) Information System (IS). The network is MS Windows based and utilized by Ships Force and test engineering during the construction of Virginia Class Submarines. Duties involve the setup, configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of servers, domains, client computers, and their associated network infrastructure. A candidate for this position should possess a wide range of computer skills to include familiarity with Windows Server, Windows OS, implementation of NIST cybersecurity controls, anti-virus software, fiber network infrastructure, switches, media convertors, data backup, imaging tools, and auditing tools. The position will interface with the ships force users. A key responsibility for this position is working with construction and project personnel to coordinate temporary infrastructure installation and reconfiguration for key events. Additional responsibilities include coordinating with government agencies and ships force to install government furnished software on the network. This position will require work onboard submarines under construction. Should be able to work shipboard, including using vertical and incline ladders. May be required to lift/carry tool bags or equipment.

Maintains smooth operation of multi-user computer systems, including coordination with network administrators. Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products. Makes recommendations to purchase hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery. Develops and monitors policies and standards for allocation related to the use of computing resources. The Role

Oversees and manages the operational aspects of ongoing projects and serves as liaison between project management and planning, project team, and line management. ONS provides support of Counterintelligence, Intelligence, and Administrative Support

Candidates for this position will lead a team performing reverse engineering tasks on existing products and encoding discoveries directly into our codebase. Additional tasks involve the research, design, and development of innovative algorithms to automate challenging or time-consuming tasks within the reverse engineering domain. Candidates will be exposed to and become proficient with a variety of technologies involving hardware description languages, embedded instruction architectures, high-level software development languages, formal verification tools, and more.

The ideal candidate will have experience with object-oriented design and an understanding of basic logic gates. We are particularly looking for candidates that have experience with FPGA design (Quartus, Vivado, ISE), embedded system design, EDA tools (synthesis, P&R, simulation), and/or microcontrollers. Experience with software reverse engineering is also valued in this position.

Essential Job Responsibilities

Candidates for this position will be responsible for leading reverse engineering efforts into systems of interest and mentoring junior engineers in the reverse engineering and development processes. Candidates will be expected to communicate clearly and effectively and demonstrate the ability to architect maintainable solutions to complex problems. Effective collaboration with teammates on the development of new ideas and accepting constructive feedback through the code review process is required. The AFSO - Assistant Facility Security Officer (Industrial Security Analyst 3), position is a multi-faceted role and requires in-depth knowledge of our Industrial and Program Security, along with knowledge of generating DD254s to include subcontractor DD254s, Access Commander, DISS and conducting semi-annual self-inspections.

Responsibilities: I want to and can do that!

- The successful candidate will work closely with various Government Agencies and Program Offices submitting access level nominations, processing personnel paperwork, administering indoctrinations, document control, visit requests, and security education and training.

- The successful candidate will function as a member of the corporate security team to administer the overall Mission Technologies security program and will provide guidance and support to Mission Technologies field sites. The candidate will also perform other duties as directed.

- Responsible for the administration and coordination of DOD and other industrial security programs and activities to ensure compliance with government and company security policies and procedures.

- Develops and administers security programs and procedures for classified or proprietary materials, documents, and equipment in coordination with government agencies and management personnel. Administers Closed and Restricted Areas when applicable.

- Reviews and implements federal security regulations that apply to company operations.

- Obtains rulings, approvals, interpretations, and acceptable deviations for compliance with regulations from government agencies.

- Prepares manuals outlining regulations, and establishes procedures for handling, storing, and keeping records, and for granting personnel and visitor access to restricted records and materials.

- Prepares and conducts security education classes and security audits.

- Investigates security violations and prepares reports specifying preventive action to be taken.

- Performs status checks on current investigations, determining upcoming reinvestigation dates, and relaying that information back to each employee.

- Conducts security self-inspections, physical security surveys, and threat/vulnerability assessments.

- Ensures accuracy of the security clearance data base and document control using the Access Commander database.

- Interfaces with government customers on security related issues.

- Ensures that classified information entrusted to the company is properly safeguarded as outlined in federal controlling instructions.

- Responsible for preparation, management and interfacing with the Defense Counter Intelligence and Security Agency (DCSA) during audits.

- DCSA FSO certification for possessing facilities required.

- In-depth working knowledge of the National Industrial Security Program (NISP).

- Thorough knowledge of using/applying US Government online programs such as Electronic Questionnaires for Investigations Processing (e-QIP), Defense Information System for Security (DISS) and the National Industrial Security System (NISS).

- Excellent oral and written communications skills.

What you must have:

- 6 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 4 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years relevant experience.

- Experience supporting the Department of Defense with knowledge of the 32 CFR 117 - NISPOM Rule.

- Candidate must work well in a team environment and possess excellent speaking, writing, organizational, and customer service skills.

Job Description

HII-Mission Technologies Division is seeking a Project Manager with experience supporting the Office of the Secretary of Defense and other agencies in the U.S. Department of Defense. We are looking for someone with a passion for solving complex problems, developing solutions in fast-paced environments, and supporting diverse teams in addressing hard problems. This position will be eligible for remote work and will have on-site requirements at government offices in the National Capital Region.

The Munitions Technologies Office, within the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Science and Technology under the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering, is responsible for developing and setting DoD munitions science and technology strategy, providing oversight and guidance to Service and DoD agency munitions investments, and operating two munitions S&T development programs. A small team of government civilians and contractor support staff execute an annual budget of over $80 million, plan and host multiple technical review events, and serve as munitions technology subject matter experts within the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). You will be a key part of a diverse team, leading HII's support to the office, coordinating work with government entities and stakeholders, and helping represent OSD's efforts to develop and field game-changing technology.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing project management support to the government for a team of contract support personnel, including budgeting support, task oversight, and daily operations management

  • Responsible to the Director of Munitions Technologies for office operations, internal/external engagements, and task management

  • Ensure customer satisfaction through recurring in-progress review, staff review, and financial review meetings

  • Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders, and ensuring technical feasibility

  • Lead development and implementation of new workflows to support government requirements

  • Assist with contract financial plans, forecasts, and cost assessments

What You Will Do

  • Responsible for interfacing with customers, managing subcontractors and ability to provide work direction to others.

When a U.S. Navy ship needs repairs, they call us! HII - Mission Technologies is currently seeking a Senior Safety Technician to join our Environmental Health and Safety Department. This position will be located in our Newport News and Hampton Roads location. This position requires performing safety surveillances onboard aircraft carriers and providing input for corrective actions for all findings observed. The selected candidate will also provide safety training for Refueling and Complex Overhaul (RCOH) employees in a variety of areas that include: Fire Watch, Fall Protection, Hot Work, Confined Spaces, Scaffolding Competent Person, Permit Authorizing Individual, Paint Sampling and Hazard Communication.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Implements and monitors industrial safety programs to ensure personnel and facility safety.

  • Participates in monitoring and controlling the organization's safety standards in accordance with OSHA and State codes and regulations.

  • Evaluates new equipment and materials for safety.

  • Monitors employee exposure to chemicals and other toxic substances.

  • Performs surveys and inspections to ensure compliance with the organization's policies, procedures, regulations and standards related to employee safety.

  • Tests and services safety equipment and systems.

  • Reports non-compliance or hazardous conditions found and suggests remedial action to be taken.

  • May maintain storage areas, consumable supply inventories, and personnel protection equipment.

  • Responds to emergency situations involving hazardous materials, radiation, or fire and smoke incidents in the facility.

  • Lead the Bi-Monthly RCOH Safety Committee meetings.

What you need to have:

  • Associates Degree or other 2 year technical degree in related discipline and 6 years related experience or High School Diploma or equivalent and 8 years related experience.

  • Must be able to establish and maintain a positive working relationship with RCOH employees, the customer.

  • US Navy/shipyard experience with a background in engineering, deck, maintenance, or safety.

  • Must have prior shipyard experience working in confined spaces and hot work as well as familiarity with ship's maintenance/3M.

  • Must have experience with creating/submitting various reports in a timely manner.

  • Must be able to work on their own, with little direct supervision.

Bonus points for:

  • OSHA 10 Hour Maritime Authorized Trainer.

  • Shipyard Competent Person Qualified.

  • Fall Protection/Rigging Trainer highly desired.

  • Respiratory Protection Fit Tester/Program Manager.

  • Experience managing hazardous waste and disposal.
