As a Surgery Scheduler , you will work various surgical ques by inputting patient demographic information into Med series, creating FIN numbers and inputting surgery case requests into Cerner Software. You will verify surgery case requests are correct, case times with office schedulers, create preliminary reports for outside clinics noting when their surgeon case times are and verify surgical equipment is correct for the scheduled case. You will also create Block times as needed for clinical schedulers and providers.

We currently have a full-time, Surgery Scheduler opportunity, working Monday - Friday, 9am - 530pm.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for scheduling surgical, cardiovascular or obstetrical procedures using a computerized scheduling system. The position is also responsible for entering patient charges, orders, and other pertinent information into the system and compiling and reporting statistical information to management. The incumbent may act as an office liaison for department staff, physicians, and patient families.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Coordinates case times for elective, urgent or emergent surgeries, cardiovascular or obstetrical procedures in a computerized scheduling system. Verifies and reviews physician privilege status prior to scheduling. Interfaces with medical staff office to maintain log of current privilege status and maintains confidentially of all information. May acquire and maintain physician preference information and staff roster.

  2. Acquires authorization numbers, History and Physicals, results of laboratory tests and verifies that they are current. Orders previous medical records for the day of the procedure, when necessary.

  3. Types and prints physician orders for multiple physicians and departments. Schedules and maintains physician block time, and block time releases.

  4. Enters physician's orders for lab, blood bank, medical imaging, and cardiology. Enters results of diagnostic tests, patient registration information and patient charges. Compiles data and prepares statistical reports for management.

  5. Conducts charge management audits for assigned area. Reconciles charge packet information with the audit. Identifies missed or incorrect charges and corrects when appropriate.

  6. Acts as a receptionist to assigned unit; answers phones, relays message. Greets and directs patients, visitors, physicians, and families and answers questions about policies and procedures. Acts as a liaison among nursing units, physician and staff to relay patient data. Screens requests for patient information and refers to appropriate staff. Records and types minutes of staff meetings, when required. Prepares and distributes staff call roster each month.

  7. Enters facility work orders and supply orders when required by assigned department. Requests repairs/maintenance for business machines in the department. Arranges for pickup and delivery of instruments and equipment and completes all necessary paperwork.

  8. This position has responsibility for scheduling surgeries and procedures and maintaining a smooth workflow in the area. Must be able to work with minimal supervision, under stressful situations, set priorities and maintain highly confidential information.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Requires skills and abilities typically attained with 2 years of medical clerical experience; preferably in a hospital central scheduling or physician office scheduling setting. Knowledge of medical terminology is required.

Also requires knowledge of payor contract terms and processes. Must possess excellent organizational skills, as well as effective human relations and communication skills. Requires effective teamworking skills and the ability to meet deadlines and productivity standards.

The position requires knowledge of word processing and spreadsheet software and the ability to use computerized scheduling systems. Must possess the ability to maintain accurate statistical records, gather data, and produce reports.

Employees working at Banner Scottsdale Sports Medicine, second floor must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position performs all functions related to the receiving, shipping, and distribution of materials and supplies for the hospital central supply department.

CORE FUNCTIONS

Banner Health IT Service Operations is seeking a Technology Analyst II to assist the IT Critical Response Team. POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY

This position coordinates a smooth patient flow process by answering phones, scheduling patient appointments, providing registration of patient and insurance information, obtaining required signatures following established processes, procedures and standards. This position also verifies insurance coverage, validates referrals and authorizations, collects patient liability and provides financial guidance to patients to maximize medical services reimbursement efforts. This also includes accurately posting patients at the point of service and releasing information in accordance with organizational and compliance policies and guidelines.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Performs registration/check-in processes, including but not limited to performing data entry activities, providing patients with appropriate information and intake forms, obtaining necessary signatures and generating population health summary.

  2. Verifies insurance eligibility benefits for services rendered with the payors and documents appropriately. Assists in obtaining or validating pre-certification, referrals, and authorizations

  4. Enters payments/charges for services rendered and performs daily payment/charge reconciliation in a timely and accurate manner. Balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of the day and prepares daily bank deposit with necessary paperwork sent to centralized billing for record purposes.

  5. Schedules office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Maximizes reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions. Confirms patient appointments for the following day as necessary and ensures patients are properly prepared for visits.

  6. Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.

  7. Assists in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies and procedures, and state and federal laws.

  8. Provides a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow including but not limited to escorting patients, taking vitals and patient history, assisting in patient treatment, distributing mail and fax information, ordering supplies, etc.

  9. Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a fast paced, multi-task environment with high volume and immediacy needs requiring independent decision making and sound judgment to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient's care. This position requires the ability to retain large amounts of changing payor information/knowledge crucial to attaining reimbursement for the services provided. Primary external customers include patients and their families, physician office staff and third party payors.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.

Requires knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience. Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work independently.

Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, and database software are required.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position selects and places surgical instruments, supplies and equipment during surgery. Scrubs and provides instruments, sutures, and other sterile supplies during surgical procedure. Participants in the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned. Is proficient to scrub on a minimum of two surgical specialties.

The Cardiovascular Operating Room Surgical Technologist is responsible for assisting the physician with advanced tasks during surgical procedures which include cardiopulmonary bypass/heart-lung machine use, cardiac assistive devices, and vascular access and interventions. The CVOR ST must be able to work under high pressure in a fast paced environment.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Prepares for surgical procedures. Pulls appropriate instruments and supplies and ensures good working order of instruments. Reviews case carts for correct instruments and supplies. Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment and makes minor adjustments or calls biomedical equipment staff. Checks schedule and plans ahead for upcoming surgical case needs.

  2. Anticipates the surgeon's needs. Passes instruments and retracts tissue. Maintains competency to scrub in a minimum of two surgical specialties.

  3. Demonstrates the principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure. Disposes of sharps and trash and places used supplies into case cart for processing. Participates in counting sharps, instruments and sponges. Prepares instruments for cleaning following each case.

  4. Ensures that all surgeon preference cards and pick lists are accurate.

  5. Assists with OR turnover between cases. Participates in stocking, replenishing supplies and cleaning operating rooms.

  6. Participates in or leads the training and orientation of surgical technology staff and students, as assigned.

  7. May provide business support to the department including administrative tasks.

  8. This position follows safety procedures in regard to medication labeling, appropriate handling of specimens, appropriate handling of sharps, time-out procedure, radiation and laser safety, infection control, assembling and disassembling instruments. Participates in emergency call rotation. Is proficient to scrub on at least two surgical specialties. Internal customers are patients, surgeons, and nursing staff. External customers may include practicing physicians, patient families and vendors or sales reps.

Depending on department/facility requirements, may require the ability to travel by ground or air throughout and between facilities and work a flexible work schedule inclusive of 24/7 weekend, Holiday, and on call availability to meet our patient's needs.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position supervises all operational, technical, and personnel activities associated with inventory, supply procurement, shipping, and receiving. CORE FUNCTIONS

Works as a member of the system/region materials leadership team to develop and standardize efficient and effective practices. May be responsible for ensuring that staff is fully trained and certified in forklift equipment operation as well as fully educated and held accountable for all safety procedures.

  6. Maintains, updates, researches, and tracks shipping/receiving records for departments, Systems Materials Management, and Accounts Payable. Maintains department records relating to personnel matters, in-service education, accounts payable, supplies received, equipment maintenance, and other related areas.

  7. Departmental/facility responsibility. Incumbent assists all departments with ordering, shipping and, receiving functions. Works under limited supervision using independent judgment to achieve goals. Internal customers are other staff, nurses, physicians, patients, visitors, supervisors, managers and executives. External customers are patients, visitors, vendors, other company facilities, and non-company medical facilities.

POSITION SUMMARY

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides highly skilled support via liaison representation to committees, medical staff departments, physicians, and other hospital personnel under moderate supervision.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Coordinates all aspects of assigned medical staff committees including compiling agenda material, accurately documenting minutes, compiling follow-up memos and letters, researching and preparing information for chairs, and providing professional assistance to various chairmen regarding privileging, credentialing, reappointment, and medical staff rules and regulations as outlined in the medical staff bylaws.

  2. In consultation with the director, provides administrative support for hearing committees. Serves as a resource for medical staff members regarding medical staff bylaws, rules and regulations, hospital and medical staff policies, regulatory requirements and parliamentary procedure. Assists in drafting correspondence ensuring compliance with established bylaws, rules and regulations. May coordinate GME and/or CME functions and processes.

  3. Under direction, liaises between medical staff and administration, communicating sensitive and confidential issues including peer review. Interacts directly with a variety of internal and external customers. Uses judgment and discretion to maintain peer review protection to hospital and medical staff.

  4. Understands and maintains an accurate, secure and updated database of physician and allied health information to query on basic demographic profiles including but not limited to staff privileges and status for other hospital departments and facilities requiring this information. Uses various internal databases to gather and analyze physician and allied health data used in the reappointment, peer review and quality improvement processes of the medical staff and board of directors.

  5. Coordinates processing of all aspects of physician and allied health credentialing and reappointment processes within appropriate timeframes ensuring the quality of the practitioners providing patient care. Assures the completeness and accurateness of the credentialing process. Requests additional information from external medical if necessary. May obtain and log expired credentials on a monthly basis according to rules and policies. Monitors the progress of physicians through the supervision period, assisting department chairs with the appropriate procedures, forms and time limits.

  6. Collects and compiles data for physician and allied health quality profiles to analyze practice patterns using data to determine performance. This includes working with senior staff, department chairmen, quality staff, and other hospital staff to identify sources of data and methods of presenting and analyzing data.

  7. Manages the preparation, distribution and maintenance of the physician emergency department call schedules.

  8. Requires high degree of confidentiality and critical decision making. Requires moderate direction and guidance. Has complex relationships with members of the administrative staff of the hospital, members of the medical and affiliated staff, medical staff officers, medical staff department chairs, section chiefs, physician and other professional applicants, attorneys, medical staff professionals at other facilities, state licensing bodies, other departmental personnel and patients. POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides overall direction of the Finance functions for separate operating unit(s) to support the achievement of facility and related entities' financial and strategic objectives.

  1. Reports financial performance metrics for assigned facilities.

  2. Directs and manages key processes including financial, management and cost reporting and analysis; net revenue modeling; operating and strategic financial planning; annual operating and capital budgeting; decision support and business analysis.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position assesses, plans, implements, evaluates and documents nursing care of patients in accordance with organizational policies and in accordance with standards of professional nursing practice utilizing the framework for professional nursing practice and development. This position is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under their direction.   6. Prints physician schedules, super-bills, labels and other applicable forms in preparation for next business day. Pulls and files patient charts and prepares new patient charts as needed. Prints and files transcription notes. Reconciles charge tickets to each day's schedule, identifies incomplete tickets, missing charge codes or missing diagnosis and notifies clinical staff. Forwards completed tickets and/or billing package to the business office or billing company.

  7. Assists technologists and nurses in pre and post procedure room preparation by obtaining necessary supplies and assisting patients as necessary. Ensures procedure rooms are stocked appropriately. Understand sterile procedure and assists with setting up sterile trays, where applicable. Adheres to radiation safety policies. Escorts patients back to the patient exam rooms, takes vitals and patient history; may assist with patient treatment to include peripheral IV insertion, IV discontinuation and Point of Care Testing (POCT) if required by the assigned facility (completion of Banner's peripheral IV insertion course and validation of skill must be completed prior to any peripheral IV insertion and discontinuation performed. Completion of Banner's POCT education and validation of skill must be completed prior to any Point of Care Testing being performed).

  8. Maintains adequate levels of office, dietary, and medical supplies and completes requisition forms when supplies need to be ordered. Reconciles supply order upon delivery.

  9. This position assists in the operations of the medical imaging department under direct supervision with technologists and nurses in department. Incumbents work in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful environment with a strong focus on customer service. Must navigate a variety of separate computer programs at any given time and handle multiple demands on time. POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for coordinating and/or implementing assigned protocols. This position includes collecting and recording medical data and history, assisting in patient assessments, and maintaining study files.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides administrative supervision of campus workflow, resource utilization and management, and operations for all clinical and non-clinical departments during assigned shift. Responds to facility emergency situations, initiates disaster notification processes, facilitates patient placement and communicates with media.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position provides routine patient care to promote patient comfort and contribute to the overall patient plan of care. This position is responsible for on-going patient data collection and documentation in the medical records and provides a variety of unit support functions which contribute to the overall efficient operation of the nursing unit/department.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Provides assistance in activities of daily living and completes necessary tasks to promote patient health, including assisting patients with basic hygiene needs, maintaining an optimum level of mobility and providing assistance with nutritional intake as needed.

  2. Collects patient specimens and data, including vital signs, input/output and other delegated measurements in accordance with unit/facility policy and standards of care. Documents objective data and routine aspects of patient care. Assists in the transportation of patient specimens.

Performs procedures and uses equipment as delegated by a licensed professional, consistent with demonstrated competencies and according to state scope of practice; procedures may include blood draws, foley catheters removal, EKGs, and EKG monitoring. Provides necessary supplies, support and assistance to medical staff and patients for unit specific procedures, under the direct supervision of a licensed professional.

  5. Performs receptionist/clerical duties to support overall operating efficiency and effective flow of communication and information throughout the department. Participates in the resolution of customer problems or collects necessary data and follows through to appropriate person for problem resolution.

  6. Maintains a complete patient record with admission, transfer, and discharge information, progress notes, and consent forms. Ensures that all reports and chart forms are scanned or filed into the patient's record. Ensures that charting forms are labeled and accessible if they are needed. May transcribe and process physician orders effectively using the electronic medical record.

The Endoscopy Department supports inpatient and outpatient diagnostic and advanced endoscopic procedures for BMDA Cancer Center and community patients. The Endoscopy department has expanded to include three procedural rooms, two advanced and one diagnostic, and has access to the OR. With the Bariatric program and BMDA Cancer Center, the types of procedures and acuity is growing. The procedures include basic endoscopy, peg tube insertions, EUS, EBUS, ERCPs and TEEs. Nursing staff manages endoscopic preprocedural, intraprocedural, and post procedural patient care.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position assists with prescribed endoscopic procedures in accordance with department/facility policies, procedures, and protocols. The incumbent is responsible for the care, handling, and processing of endoscopy procedural equipment and turnover of the procedure rooms. This role assists and shows a high level of proficiency with general GI cases, advanced GI cases and pulmonary cases. This position ensures optimal care/treatment to all patient population. The incumbent also participates in the training and orientation of onboarding new Endoscopy Technicians and students, as assigned.

CORE FUNCTIONS

  1. Assists with case preparations, ensures equipment is readily available and working properly, in addition to being knowledgeable in selecting the appropriate instruments and supplies that physicians request for the case. Assists in maintaining the most accurate and up-to-date information on preference cards for cases and physicians in the facility. Reviews cases on a daily basis and communicates with care team about supply needs, equipment repairs, and educational needs from vendors. Troubleshoots malfunctioning equipment, makes minor adjustments, or calls biomedical equipment staff. Checks schedule daily and plans for upcoming procedural case needs.

  2. Assists in performing endoscopic procedures in accordance with departmental policies and procedures. Works closely with infection control and ensure that audits are being performed and shared with fellow endoscopy technicians. Anticipates and prepares for changing needs.

  3. Demonstrates the principles of aseptic technique and universal precautions throughout the procedure. Disposes of sharps and trash. Responsible for the cleaning, disinfecting, sterilizing and storing scopes. Ensures that unused supplies are returned appropriately.

  4. Keeps up to date with all SGNA and AAMI standards for endoscopy and helps ensure compliance by performing audits and completing continuous education.

  5. Demonstrates a wealth of knowledge of all diagnostic and therapeutic equipment. Assist with proper set up of equipment and positioning devices/patients in procedures rooms. Assist with the cleaning/stocking of procedure rooms and carts. Ensures that equipment is stocked/stored for upcoming cases.

  6. Works alongside with physicians and lead nurse to ensure that all preference cards and pick lists are accurate.

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is responsible for the maintenance and preservation of confidential electronic health records. The position performs a variety of HIMS functions, including one or more of the following: record completion, transcription coordination, document imaging, release of information, and/or providing services and information to physicians and staff. Reviews and analyzes health information typically through the use of electronic health record tools for provider completion and record deficiencies in accordance with the Joint Commission, CMS, state licensing agencies, Medical Staff rules and regulations, and HIMS Department standards.   3. Provide customer service and assistance related to HIMS departmental functions to patients, vendors, providers, ancillary staff, and other departments in person, over the telephone, through email, or by other means including coordinating birth registrations with State recording processes.

  4. Performs the document imaging function as required, including scanning, Quality Control and Validation, to ensure scanned images are uploaded into the correct electronic health record visit and meet minimum productivity standards as defined.

  5. Perform current and retrospective review of scanned documents as needed through the certification process in an effort to maintain the integrity and completeness of the Electronic Medical Record and meet minimum productivity standards as defined.

  6. Perform a variety of other support functions including assistance with basic transcription issues and requests, providing training for Dragon/voice recognition applications, assisting patients with completion of portal enrollment, performing merges and combines in the EHR, answering telephones, and other duties as assigned by HIMS leadership.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
