As a Front Office Representative, you are the first point of contact as patients and visitors approach the front desk. You'll work collectively with a dedicated group of healthcare professionals to ensure patients have a positive experience. POSITION SUMMARY
This position serves as the first point of contact between patients and the facility. Coordinates and guides patient visit from check-in to check-out. Performs various functions including, scheduling, insurance verification, collecting co-pays, and gathering patient demographic information. Answers and routes phone calls and completes daily paperwork and necessary reports.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Receives all incoming calls from both internal and external lines. Documents messages and routes to appropriate clinical staff. Transfers calls as necessary. Ensures documentation in medical record is complete including lab and test results. Assists in facilitating requests for patient medical records.
Receives patient in applicable systems, confirms patient demographics and insurance information and performs insurance verification when required. May be required to calculate and collect copays, deductibles, and self-pay. Totals charges on patient's super-bill at check-out. Coordinates transportation to care centers and residential homes as requested by patients or physicians.
Schedules, re-schedules patient's office appointments, follow-up appointments, diagnostic tests, surgeries and may provide patient with preparation instructions for exams, tests, or surgeries when required. Confirms patient appointments for the following day. May prepare patient referrals to specialty care.
Prints physician schedules, superbills, labels and other applicable forms in preparation for next business day. Pulls and files patient charts and prepares new patient charts as needed. Prints and files transcription notes. Provides administrative support for Physicians as needed.
Reconciles charge tickets to each day's schedule, identifies incomplete tickets, missing charge codes or missing diagnosis and notifies clinical staff. Forwards completed tickets and/or billing package to the business office or billing company.
Escorts patients back to the patient exam rooms, takes vitals and patient history, may assist with patient treatment, if required by the assigned facility.
Expected to perform daily work duties with minimal supervision based on training and policies provided. Additional guidance available as needed for new or unusual tasks. Required to resolve minor patient grievances. Required to have working knowledge of referral and authorization processes. Must navigate a variety of separate computer programs at any given time and handle multiple demands on time. Internal customers include all patients, staff and clinic providers. External customers include non-clinic providers and facilities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED or equivalent working knowledge.
Requires a demonstrated ability to multi-task between heavy phone volume, multiple computer systems and frequent interruptions. Must have the ability to handle ongoing face-to-face contact with patients and staff while functioning in a busy medical office environment.
Must be able to type a minimum of 30 wpm and perform data entry.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Six months experience working in a medical office and/or hospital setting preferred. Working knowledge of medical terminology is preferred. Previous experience working with electronic medical records and insurance is preferred. Bi-lingual in Spanish is preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.

POSITION SUMMARY
This position is the first point of contact at healthcare facilities and assists patients with the administrative aspect of gaining access to medical treatment. This position is in a hospital-based setting which includes Emergency Dept, Inpatient, Obstetrics, Outpatient, etc. Responsible for in person patient intake and registration, providing superior customer service, accurately identifying, and obtaining authorizations patients' insurance, verifying eligibility and benefits, generating patient estimates for services rendered, financial counseling, and collecting patient liability. Demonstrates the ability to resolve customer issues and provides excellent customer service.
CORE FUNCTIONS
Verifies patient's demographics and accurately inputs this information into EHR, including documenting the account thoroughly to maximize reimbursement and minimize denials/penalties from the payor(s).
Proficiency with multiple services including, but not limited to inpatient, observation, emergency, obstetrics, surgery, imaging. This position may cover services 24/7.
Demonstrates a thorough understanding of insurance guidelines for all services. Proficiently verifies, reads, and understands insurance benefits.
Demonstrates proficient understanding that this position creates the first impression for our patient's experience with Banner Health. Demonstrates a positive patient experience through interactions and effective communication.
Proficient understanding of payer authorization guidelines. Accurately submits timely notification according to insurance guidelines using various systems to reduce/eliminate denials. Consistently meets all registration related key performance indicators as determined by management.
Obtains federal/state compliance information, consents and documentation required by the patient's insurance plan(s). This includes a thorough understanding of accurately completing hospital-based compliance forms required by CMS. Uses multiple computer applications proficiently.
Consistently discusses financial liability with the patient(s) and/or families that includes: collection in full of patient liability, assisting patient in applying for Banner Line of Credit, setting up payment plans and/or assisting patient with Banner Financial Assistance policy/application.
Provides a variety of patient services and financial services tasks. May be assigned functions such as transporting patients, training new hire employees, recapping daily deposits, posting daily deposits, or conducting other work assignments of the Patient Access Services team.
Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a high-volume, fast paced, clinical environment which requires to ability to be adaptable, critical thinking, and independent decision making and to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient's care. Primary external customers include patients and their families, physician office staff and third-party payors.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma/GED is required.
Must have customer service skills or knowledge of patient financial services, financial, collecting services or insurance industry experience processes normally acquired over one or more years of work experience.
Requires the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision and to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Requires strong interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills to effectively interact with a wide range of audiences. Strong knowledge in the use of common office software, word processing, spreadsheet, database software, and typing ability are required.
Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital or the Whole Health Clinic must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. Employees working at Banner MD Anderson on the Banner University Medical Center Phoenix campus must possess a State of Arizona Department of Public Safety Level One Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment. This is a requirement of the Whole Family Counseling Program held at this specific facility.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Associate's degree in Business Management is preferred.
CHAA certification is preferred.
Previous patient access and/or cash collections experience is preferred. Work experience with the Company's systems and processes is preferred.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Certificate or diploma from an approved/accredited Radiologic Technology programs. Requires national certification from the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB), or American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) based on modalities in which they will be conducting work and licensure by the state regulatory agency as applicable. As of August 1, 2019, all Multi-Modality Technologist's hired on or after August 1,2019 will be required to have an advance certification by an accrediting body in a specialty if applicable. This position requires clinical knowledge typically achieved with 2 years of Radiologic Technologist experience. Must be actively working in each certified modality, in accordance with the needs of the facility. The Multi-Modality Technologist II will be required to rotate and cover department scheduling as needed and required in areas where obtained certifications apply. The Senior Revenue Integrity Charge Error Technician is responsible for creating files for our BOT to add charge orders. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Must have graduated from an APTA accredited school of Physical Therapy, or equivalent.
Must possess a current Physical Therapy license within the State of practice. BLS certification required.

As a Patient Financial Services Rep with Banner's Sleep Medicine Clinics you will be responsible for running insurance eligibility and benefits to determine amounts due, collecting payments, checking patients in and out, scheduling appointments, as well as other administrative duties as needed.

Schedules office visits and procedures within the medical practice(s) and external practices as necessary. Maximizes reimbursement by scheduling patients in accordance with payor plan provisions. Confirms patient appointments for the following day as necessary and ensures patients are properly prepared for visits.
Demonstrates proactive interpersonal communications skills while dealing with patient concerns through telephone calls, emails and in-person conversations. Optimizes patient flow by using effective customer service/communication skills by communicating to internal and external customers, care team, management, centralized services and HIMS.
Assists in responding to requests for patient medical records according to company policies and procedures, and state and federal laws.
Provides a variety of patient services to assist in patient flow including but not limited to escorting patients, taking vitals and patient history, assisting in patient treatment, distributing mail and fax information, ordering supplies, etc.
Works independently under regular supervision and follows structured work routines. Works in a fast paced, multi-task environment with high volume and immediacy needs requiring independent decision making and sound judgment to prioritize work and ensure appropriateness and timeliness of each patient's care. With supervisor, plans completion of hospital wide projects, ensures consistent service delivery standards in all aspects of the Environmental Services and Linen operations. Gives input to supervisor on quality and timeliness of work performed by environmental services staff.
Performs cleaning functions in patient rooms, specialty areas and common areas.
Works closely with supervisor to train and retrain, recruit, retain and develop the Environmental Services team members, fostering a culture that reflects the core values and operational polices of our department and the company.
May supervise staff in the absence of the Environmental Services leader. Makes work assignments and responds to immediate needs by moving staff to various areas of facility as needed. Moves furniture and sets up rooms for meetings and special functions.
Assists supervisor in performing Quality Assurance Inspections for review and correction of deficiencies.
Distributes linens and supplies as needed; takes inventories in assigned areas.
Works independently with general supervision. Department responsibility only. Customers include staff, patients, visitors, physicians and vendors. Oversees daily activities of a team of Environmental Services Associates. Makes staffing assignments in absence of supervisor; coordinates cleaning projects as assigned, assists with on-the-job training, provides input to performance evaluations.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Requires the skills, knowledge and abilities in healthcare environmental services work typically acquired over two or more years of related work experience. Must have leadership skills and be able to communicate effectively verbally and in writing. Requires the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. Must serve as a role model to others in customer service skills, safe work practices, and infection control including hand hygiene. Employees working at Banner Behavioral Health Hospital or BTMC Behavioral must possess an Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card at the time of hire and maintain the card for the duration of their employment.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Basic computer skills in word processing and electronic mail are preferred.
Additional related education and/or experience preferred.
