We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as Lead Instructors in our out of school time programs in Rockville and Columbia, MD. Lead instructors guide students through our world class project based learning curriculum to learn new technology skills in coding, Minecraft, ROBLOX, video editing, game design, robotics and more!

  • Single session and multi-session weekend classes available, with options to continue into full time work in the summer

  • Get in-room technology experience with excited students

  • PAID training!

  • No formal experience required, but teaching experience in some capacity and strong tech skills highly preferred

Requirements

  • Experience with technology or teaching preferred

  • Reliable transportation to locations such as East Brunswick, Piscataway, Edison, Paramus, and Carteret. More locations are added throughout the season.

  • Most sessions are two or six hours on a Saturday or during a school holiday, such as Spring Break (scheduling is flexible)

  • Lead Instructors must be at least 21 years of age and have experience working with children ages 8-14 and/or technology

  • Experience with children in an educational setting preferred but not required

  • Comfortable working with teacher to student ratios of 12/1

  • Strong technology skills preferred, such as a background in 3D modeling, digital arts, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, etc. or significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, including modding or streaming

Central Oregon Community College Instructor Position: Digital Arts, Technology & STEM

Are you passionate about Tech Education and S(cience),T(echnology), E(ngineering), & M(athematics)? The Community Education program of COCC, in conjunction with Black Rocket Productions, is seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented instructors of technology-oriented youth camps. Join us to teach an exciting STEM course on Saturdays and Sundays!

  • 4 Weeks (Saturdays and Sundays) from April through May

  • Ideally the same instructor for both Saturday and Sunday but it's not required to take both days of instruction

  • 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

  • In-room with kids ages 9-15

  • Comprehensive PAID training!

  • No formal experience required

  • Spend the Weekend with our AMAZING students having fun with technology!

General Requirements:

  • Located within commuting distance of Bend, OR, and have a reliable form of transportation

  • Experience with children in an educational setting preferred but not required

  • Strong technology skills are preferred, such as 3D modeling, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, etc.

  • Available to complete online training, PAID (Train at your own pace.)

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to offer accommodations or work sponsorship.

  • Must be available to work all 4 Saturdays and/or Sundays

Instructor Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older preferred, 18 years of age required

  • College graduates with a degree in education, digital arts, computer science, information technology or related fields and/or significant relevant work experience are ideal. College seniors with experience with groups of kids are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience teaching kids is not required, but the ideal candidate will have some experience with kids in a formal or informal setting (classroom, volunteering, childcare, tutoring, coaching, etc.)

  • Ability to facilitate a class of up to 18 kids with a co-teacher in a technology setting

  • Rate: $30/hour for a Lead Instructor; training time paid

Cuyahoga Community College Summer Camp Instructor Position: Digital Arts, Technology & STEM

Are you passionate about STEM?

Tri-C, in conjunction with Black Rocket Productions, is seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as Lead & Assistant Instructors to help teach exciting classes like ROBLOX, Python coding, Game Design, Minecraft, and MORE!

An Assistant Instructor must be at least 18 years of age by May 2023. This is a perfect job for college students or content experts (programmers & gamers). No experience is required as Black Rocket will TRAIN you! Classroom management skills are preferred. Upon completion of the online training program, instructors must demonstrate competency in the core concepts being taught and software used.

A Lead Instructor must be at least 21 years of age by May 2023. This is a perfect job for K12 certified classroom teachers with summers off who want to teach children various types of new technology. Lead Instructors are adults who are responsible for the well-being and education of the students. A lead instructor may have either a degree/experience in education or significant experience in one of the content areas. They must have a strong understanding of the course concepts being taught as well as any techniques and software involved. Classroom management skills are preferred. Upon completion of the Black Rocket training program, instructors must demonstrate competency in the core concepts and software used. In addition to teaching responsibilities, lead instructors are also responsible for the supervision of staff, equipment management, enforcement of site policies, and meeting project deadlines. Training begins in late spring. This is a seasonal position from June through the end of August. Experience with technology preferred, but not required. Training is provided.

Get paid to build your resume and have a ton of fun! Training is paid and mostly online with some on site at Cuyahoga Community College. Each new hire will attend an online training program to learn the curriculum and the Black Rocket approach. Training begins in May 2023.

Edmonds College, in conjunction with Black Rocket Productions, is seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as Lead & Assistant Instructors to help teach exciting classes like ROBLOX, Python coding, Game Design, Minecraft, and MORE!

An Assistant Instructor must be at least 18 years of age by May 2022. This is a perfect job for college students or content experts (programmers & gamers). No experience is required as Black Rocket will TRAIN you! Classroom management skills are preferred. Upon completion of the online training program, instructors must demonstrate competency in the core concepts being taught and software used.

A Lead Instructor must be at least 21 years of age by May 2022. This is a perfect job for K12 certified classroom teachers with summers off who want to teach children various types of new technology. Lead Instructors are adults who are responsible for the well-being and education of the students. A lead instructor may have either a degree/experience in education or significant experience in one of the content areas. They must have a strong understanding of the course concepts being taught as well as any techniques and software involved. Classroom management skills are preferred. Upon completion of the Black Rocket training program, instructors must demonstrate competency in the core concepts and software used. In addition to teaching responsibilities, lead instructors are also responsible for the supervision of staff, equipment management, enforcement of site policies, and meeting project deadlines. Training begins in late spring. This is a seasonal position from mid July through early August. Experience with technology preferred, but not required. Training is provided.

Get paid to build your resume and have a ton of fun! Training is paid and mostly online with some on site at Edmonds College. Each new hire will attend an online training program to learn the curriculum and the Black Rocket approach. Training begins in May 2022.

Lead Instructor Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older

  • College graduates with a degree in education, digital arts, computer science, information technology or related fields and/or significant relevant work experience are ideal. Graduating college seniors with student teaching experience are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience teaching kids is not required, but the ideal candidate will have some experience with kids in a formal or informal setting (classroom, volunteering, childcare, tutoring, coaching, etc.)

  • Ability to lead a class of up to 13 kids solo and 25 kids with an assistant in a technology setting

  • Pay: $15.00 - $22.00 per hour depending on experience, location, and availability

  • Potential opportunities to move into supervisory roles in future years

  • Ability to manage and safely transfer equipment as needed for various classes

Assistant Instructor Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older
