Required Experience:

Lead Instructor Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older

  • College graduates with a degree in education, digital arts, computer science, information technology or related fields and/or significant relevant work experience are ideal. Graduating college seniors with student teaching experience are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience teaching kids is not required, but the ideal candidate will have some experience with kids in a formal or informal setting (classroom, volunteering, childcare, tutoring, coaching, etc.)

  • Ability to lead a class of up to 13 kids solo and 25 kids with an assistant in a technology setting

  • Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience, location, and availability

  • Potential opportunities to move into supervisory roles in future years

  • Ability to manage and safely transfer equipment as needed for various classes

Assistant Instructor Requirements:

Arapahoe Community College Summer Camp Instructor Position: Digital Arts, Technology & STEM

Are you passionate about STEM?

ACC, in conjunction with Black Rocket Productions, is seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as Lead & Assistant Instructors to help teach exciting classes like ROBLOX, Python coding, Game Design, Esports, Minecraft, and MORE!

An Assistant Instructor must be at least 18 years of age by May 2022. This is a perfect job for college students or content experts (programmers & gamers). No experience is required as Black Rocket will TRAIN you! Classroom management skills are preferred. Upon completion of the online training program, instructors must demonstrate competency in the core concepts being taught and software used.

A Lead Instructor must be at least 21 years of age by May 2022. This is a perfect job for K12 certified classroom teachers with summers off who want to teach children various types of new technology. Lead Instructors are adults who are responsible for the well-being and education of the students. A lead instructor may have either a degree/experience in education or significant experience in one of the content areas. They must have a strong understanding of the course concepts being taught as well as any techniques and software involved. Classroom management skills are preferred. Upon completion of the Black Rocket training program, instructors must demonstrate competency in the core concepts and software used. In addition to teaching responsibilities, lead instructors are also responsible for the supervision of staff, equipment management, enforcement of site policies, and meeting project deadlines. Training begins in late spring. This is a seasonal position from early June through Late July. Experience with technology preferred, but not required. Training is provided.

Get paid to build your resume and have a ton of fun! Training is paid and mostly online with some on site at ACC. Each new hire will attend an online training program to learn the curriculum and the Black Rocket approach. Training begins in May 2022.

Most positions are full day (8:30 am - 4:00 pm), Monday-Friday from June 6th to July 29th.

  • Minimum of a completed Bachelor's degree

  • Teaching Certification preferred, but not required

Duties of our Lead Instructors include, but are not limited to:

  • Prepare adequately by reviewing and internalizing the prepared curricula for the courses to be taught.

  • Prepare for and deliver multiple rotations of BRP curriculum per day to groups of up to 20 campers.

  • Familiarize oneself with the necessary software in order to educate and utilize in the classroom.

  • Implement the curriculum as written, adapting it as needed to improve the camper experience or accommodate individual campers.

  • Provide leadership, energy and camp spirit, constantly assessing group dynamics and the needs of individual campers.

  • Supervise Assistant Instructors working in your program area and inspire them to become excellent instructors.

  • Establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in and outside the classroom.

Required Experience:

Lead Instructor Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older

  • College graduates with a degree in education, digital arts, computer science, information technology or related fields and/or significant relevant work experience are ideal. Graduating college seniors with student teaching experience are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience teaching kids is not required, but the ideal candidate will have some experience with kids in a formal or informal setting (classroom, volunteering, childcare, tutoring, coaching, etc.)

  • Ability to lead a class of up to 13 kids solo and 25 kids with an assistant in a technology setting

  • Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience, location, and availability

  • Potential opportunities to move into supervisory roles in future years

  • Ability to manage and safely transfer equipment as needed for various classes

Assistant Instructor Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • College age student studying education, computer science, digital arts, information technology, or in similar fields are encouraged to apply.

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as seasonal supervisors for Black Rocket technology camps. We strongly encourage those who have completed or are working towards their supervisor or principal certification to apply!

This is a summer seasonal position and you are expected to work the entire summer, following the prevailing local school district summer break schedule. Black Rocket will TRAIN you! Are you passionate about Tech Education, Video Games, Coding, Python, RobloxTM, App Design, Digital Movies, Robotics, Drones, MinecraftTM or STEM?

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as Lead and Assistant Instructors in our Summer 2022.

  • Summer seasonal position (4-10 weeks)

  • In-room with kids ages 8-14

  • PAID training!

  • No formal experience required

  • Spend the summer with our AMAZING students having fun with technology!

General Requirements:

  • Located within driving distance of one of our partner regions and reliable transportation

  • Experience with children in an educational setting preferred but not required

  • Strong technology skills are preferred, such as 3D modeling, coding, game creation or design, animation, robotics, modifying games, video editing, competitive gaming, significant knowledge of Minecraft or Roblox, etc.

  • Available to start online training May 1st, 2022 (Train at your own pace.)

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States. We are unable to offer accommodations or work sponsorship.

  • Must be available to work a minimum of 4 weeks, Monday through Friday

Required Experience:

Lead Instructor Requirements:

  • 21 years of age or older

  • College graduates with a degree in education, digital arts, computer science, information technology or related fields and/or significant relevant work experience are ideal. Graduating college seniors with student teaching experience are also encouraged to apply.

  • Experience teaching kids is not required, but the ideal candidate will have some experience with kids in a formal or informal setting (classroom, volunteering, childcare, tutoring, coaching, etc.)

  • Ability to lead a class of up to 13 kids solo and 25 kids with an assistant in a technology setting

  • Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour depending on experience, location, and availability

  • Potential opportunities to move into supervisory roles in future years

  • Ability to manage and safely transfer equipment as needed for various classes

Assistant Instructor Requirements:

  • 18 years of age or older

  • College age student studying education, computer science, digital arts, information technology, or in similar fields are encouraged to apply.

  • Those with strong tech or digital arts and troubleshooting skills will be most successful in this position

Are you passionate about Video Games, App Design, Digital Movies, Robotics, or STEM? Do you love building up teachers to help them lead and inspire kids?

We are seeking enthusiastic, motivated and talented individuals to work as seasonal supervisors for Black Rocket technology camps. We strongly encourage those who have completed or are working towards their supervisor or principal certification to apply!

This is a summer seasonal position and you are expected to work the entire summer, following the prevailing local school district summer break schedule. Black Rocket will TRAIN you! Regional Supervisors are enthusiastic, organized, and motivated individuals. They are confident in their ability to supervise instructors, as well as interact with students, parents, and program directors. All applicants must be 21 years of age or older and have experience with managing schedules or events, experience managing adults, and evidence of strong people skills. The ideal candidate will also have a background as a school supervisor, school administrator, teacher leader, manager, or similar. Knowledge of effective instructional practices and strong problem-solving skills are a plus. A strong tech background is also a plus, but not required.
