The Police Officer provides internal and external safety/police functions to support the general safety of the hospital community to include participation in investigations and arrests when warranted. Patrol is assigned an area and responds to radio and/or telephone calls for routine and/or emergency assistance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Assigned patrol within facilities and the campus property including parking areas to maintain a police presence while being on alert for criminal activity and/or the need for assistance.

  • Provides the police services for the facility. Assisting stranded motorist with minor automobile problems. Assists visitors as needed.

  • Responds to calls for assistance and emergencies. Takes appropriate control of dangerous situations by using sound judgement and quick thinking. Assist the medical staff in restraining a patient as necessary. Performs BLS as needed. Serves as first responder to fire alarm activations, chemical spills and Code Blue and Rapid Responses in Public Areas.

  • Conducts preliminary investigations in hospital related incidents related to visitors and patients. Works closely with local law enforcement agencies when the need arises, Maintains accurate records of daily activities. Reports all unusual incidents and criminal activity on incident reports. Takes reports of vehicular accidents, criminal offenses and suspicious activity occurring on hospital property.

  • Maintains the facility's lost and found. Secures valuable property to ensure that it is not lost, tampered with, or stolen. May be required to transport money to and from designated bank. Morgue pickups and release to Funeral Homes and Coroner. Assist with the air ambulance landing.

  • Monitor and review security cameras and alarms.

  • Other duties as assigned.

  • Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served on his or her assigned unit.

  • Demonstrates knowledge of the principles of growth and development of the life span and possesses the ability to assess data reflective of the patient's status and interprets the appropriate information needed to identify each patient's requirements relative to his or her age, specific needs and to provide the care needed as described in departmental policies and procedures.

Required Minimum Education:

High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education:

2 Year/ Associates Degree

Licensure/Certification Required:

Current OPOTA Certificate, BLS, NAPPI training within first 6 months of hire

SUMMARY:

Performs basic and advanced Polysomnography and related tasks. Scores and analyzes Polysomnographic data. Demonstrates knowledge and skills necessary to provide care to pediatric, adult, and geriatric patients.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

5% - Calibrates all equipment necessary for PSG recording including oximeter, polygraph, CO2 monitor, etc.

5% - Interacts with patients to obtain vital signs, pertinent medical sleep history, and responds to basic patient needs and requests. Provides basic information to patients on equipment and recording procedures.

20% - Attaches electrodes and other recording devices to patients undergoing sleep studies according to standardized procedures. Removes and cleans all such devices at the completion of sleep study.

30% - Monitors PSG collection computers and make appropriate adjustments to produce quality PSC recordings free of artifact. Records observations of patient activities and technologist interventions. Able to troubleshoot as necessary to resolve problems with equipment/recordings.

10% - Scores sleep records for sleep stages, respiratory events, limb movements, and other parameters. Meets department standards for interscorer reliability.

20% - Titrates PAP devices and O2 during sleep study for optimal resolution of respiratory events and nocturnal desaturations. Conducts CPAP training and desensitization prior to start of CPAP study.

3% - Records written documentation of patient activity in patient's Sleep Center chart or electronic collection file.

2% - Maintains clean and orderly work area and cleans equipment per department policies. Replenishes supplies used in all phases of sleep study as needed.

5% - Stays current in the field of sleep technology by participation in the continuing education activities required for AASM accreditation.

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Respiratory Aide II, under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist, may provide basic respiratory care to non-acute patients. This role may also be responsible for cleaning, assembling, and maintaining respiratory supplies and equipment. Must maintain a clean, organized, and functional work area.

Essential Job Functions

  • Under the supervision of a licensed Respiratory Therapist, draws arterial and/or capillary blood samples from patients, processes the sample, record and report results, and perform quality controls as required.

  • May administer oxygen delivery devices. Sets-up and monitors non-invasive equipment such as oximeters or end-tidal CO2 analyzers.

  • May provides basic respiratory therapy techniques to include: Aerosol Therapy, Postural Drainage and Percussion, Incentive Spirometry, Metered Dose Inhalers, and all other treatment modalities.

  • May perform EKG's; understands electronic monitoring, lead placement, and basic arrhythmias.

  • Cleans, sterilizes, assembles, tests, and maintains par levels of facility respiratory equipment.

  • Orders, maintains, and delivers oxygen to units.

  • Ensures respiratory equipment is available for procedures and examinations

  • Arranges for the repair of broken equipment.

  • Fills orders for respiratory supplies and equipment

  • Receives for respiratory supplies and equipment deliveries

  • Inspects supplies and equipment deliveries for damage

  • Labels storage bins, shelves, and other inventory locations

Summary:

A professional management position assuming 24-hour responsibility for supervising and coordinating the administrative and operational activities in the assigned areas. In collaboration with interdisciplinary team members, assures safe, efficient and cost effective care to the patients within the assigned areas. Assists in the provision of care to patients of all age groups.

Leadership Responsibility:

The Clinical Manager operationalizes the institutions philosophy of nursing care delivery and participates in the development of departmental goals. The Clinical Manager is responsible for all professional and hourly employees within the assigned areas.

Knowledge and Abilities:

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Must have a minimum of a Bachelor's degree, B.S.N. However, alternate degrees will be considered.

  • Experience: Work requires level of knowledge of organization and operation of a patient care area, and knowledge of nursing care techniques and methods, generally acquired through THREE to FIVE Years of experience as a professional nurse, with one year experience in appropriate specialty area (may be concurrent). Prior management/supervisory/leadership experience required.

  • Registration, Certification or Licensure Requirement: Current Ohio RN Licensure; Current Basic Life Support Certificate Required; Certification in area of specialty preferred.

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The Lab Assistant/Phlebotomist performs phlebotomy and specimen collection. They use Lab Information System (LIS) and Hospital Information System (HIS) to conduct functions related to phlebotomy, patient registration, order entry, result look-up and report generation. They process specimens for diagnostic testing and referral testing and sort specimen drop-offs according to insurance. They ensure accurate registration of specimens as needed.

Summary

The Financial Navigator is responsible for comprehensive patient financial management. The Navigator conducts patient financial navigation and patient fiscal need assessments. They will work closely with providers, patients, hospital staff, and practice administration to determine and execute the most appropriate fiscal solutions. The Navigator will provide analytical and operational support for facility administration and financial related activities including drug recovery within facilities, billing and payment processes, and analysis and evaluation of financial performance.

Essential Job Functions

  • Conducts financial counseling for all infusion patients prior to initial treatment which includes notification of financial obligations.

  • Conducts screening, enrolling, and obtaining copay assistance and/or free drug for patients through Patient Assistance Programs (PAP).

  • Manages drug procurement for indigent and underinsured populations and all aspects of drug recovery programs within local facilities; ensures all accounts are submitted for recovery accurately and in a timely manner.

  • Monitors drug shipment status from approval through receipt of drug at the hospital pharmacy.

  • Develops and maintains a close interface with all components of the drug recovery and copay assistance process including patients, key hospital departments, and drug manufacturers and/or foundations.

  • Manages patient payment status and data including insurance coverage, self-pay credits and account write offs to resolve problems determining the cause and expediting correction or adjustment.

  • Answers billing and insurance questions as needed.

  • Maintains patient assistance database.

  • Coordinates procuring free drugs for accounts with medical necessity denials.

  • Submits referrals to support services (e.g. Medicaid screening, Bon Secours Mercy Health Charity financial assistance, social worker, marriage and family counselor, etc.)

  • Prepares evaluations of hospital, facility, or pharmacy related concerns and proposals to quantify financial implications.

  • Compiles and analyzes internal data for inpatient and outpatient services.

  • Responsible for distributing various reports to departments as needed.

  • Establishes and maintains relationships with other agencies and organizations in community to meet patient needs.

  • Coordinates, educates, and trains physicians, clinical staff, and support staff on patient assistance programs (e.g. free drug procurement, copay assistance) and offers in-service training sessions to enhance quality and patient satisfaction.

Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

The CT Technologist applies the art and skill of diagnostic imaging through the safe and effective use of CT scanning equipment in a way that provides direct patient care in a compassionate and timely manner. - Assures the quality of all images and confirms that all pertinent patient/procedural data is correct.

- Participates in on call rotation as required.

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

Summary of Primary Function/General Purpose of Position

- Assists patient and provider with virtual health visits which may include setting up the visit through appropriate platform, pre-charting the virtual visit prior to the scheduled appointment, contacting the patient to ensure preparedness for the virtual visit, troubleshooting virtual visit issues when needed, obtaining chief complaint and health maintenance checks, medication review, and other relevant patient details prior to the actual virtual visit.

- Documents in electronic medical records (EMR) accurately and appropriately.

- Manages in basket messages in the electronic health record (EHR) under the Provider's verbatim instructions.

- May perform front desk workflows (i.e., My Chart requests, patient registration, scheduling, phone triage, cash handling, and check-in/check-out).

- Follows up on orders, appointments, referrals, and follow up visits and collects co-pays as needed.

JOB DESCRIPTION

The Nurse Manager is responsible for the integration, facilitation, and coordination of the management and clinical activities of the nursing unit(s) with twenty-four hour accountability. Provides management and clinical support to other nursing units and house wide as required. Serves as a professional role model, mentor, and clinical resource/educator for nurses and other members of the health care team. Develops unit goals and objectives with other staff based on analysis of clinical and managerial processes to improve patient outcomes and create a culture of excellence. Represents the unit and is a liaison to internal and external customers. Participates in professional development activities and is active on hospital-wide committees. Demonstrates various styles of management. Participates in unit(s) budget development, responsible for monitoring and variance analysis.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be a graduate of an accredited program of professional nursing. A Bachelors in Nursing (BSN) or a Master's of Nursing (MSN) is required*.

  • Must possess current license as a Registered Nurse from the State of Virginia or awaiting reciprocity.

  • Maintains current CPR certification.

  • Work requires knowledge of organization and operation of a patient care unit and nursing care techniques and methods. Possesses knowledge generally acquired through three to five years experience as a professional nurse, with progressively more responsible experience in appropriate specialty area.

  • Must have a broad based knowledge of clinical, psychosocial, and patho/physiological theories relating to nursing diagnosis and treatment. Possesses the ability to perform the range of nursing techniques found in general nursing practice including the unusual and non-routine as normally acquired through three to five years experience as a professional nurse.

  • Previous work experience in a supervisory or charge nurse position that required knowledge of financial management and personnel supervision and practice.
