Responsibilities

Manages the day-to-day healthcare operations of the community to ensure resident's healthcare needs are met. Ensures residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as resident's healthcare needs change.

  • Ensures consistent quality resident care and service delivery throughout all shifts; this may require assuming the role and responsibilities of a Caregiver or Med Tech/Aide in order to meet the residents' needs and staffing requirements.

  • Assists in the supervision of community-based licensed nursing staff, medication technicians/CMA's, and Caregivers.

  • Provides training and education to Caregivers on an ongoing basis to include classroom in-services and situation-specific training.

  • Assists in the maintenance of resident charts and review of documentation performed by care giving staff.

  • As allowed by the Nurse Practice Act, assists in assessing the health, functional, and psycho social status of residents. Initiates individualized Personal Service Plans and proactively manages care and services for each resident. Evaluates the effectiveness and maximizes the resident's opportunity to remain in their environment.

  • Ensures and conducts Personal Service Plan reviews and updates, according to Brookdale and state requirements, to ensure residents' service needs are met.

  • Assists in the achievement of occupancy goals by monitoring the health, safety and well-being of residents, proactively identifying those at risk for move out. Implements timely problem solving.

  • Oversees and manages the continuity and consistency of medication training, pharmacy management and medication supervision and/or administration in the community. Conducts periodic Care Associate medication skills inventory checks, and periodic medication audits per Brookdale Guidelines.

  • Implements and maintains Brookdale operating standards, systems and processes. Monitors and participates in Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs at Safety Committee Meetings, Collaborative Care Meetings and Family Care Conferences.

  • Assists in the scheduling and follow through of physician visits including, but not limited to, dental appointments, eye appointments, therapy, and hospice both in house and scheduled visits out of the community. Ensures communication, as appropriate, on the results of these visits.

  • Completes documentation as required by Brookdale or state regulatory agencies.

  • Communicates information in a timely manner to the appropriate person or agency regarding changes in residents' health/well-being, personal needs, risk management issues, customer service issues, family or outside health care provider concerns.

  • Assists in keeping the environment safe for associates to reduce the occurrence of Worker's Compensation claims.

  • Participates in community events, including family and social functions.

  • Shares on-call and Manager on Duty responsibilities/shifts as required.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

Education as required to obtain state nursing license (LPN/LVN or RN) and a minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience.

Certifications, Licenses, and Other Special RequirementsLPN/LVN or RN license.

Management/Decision MakingUses limited independent judgment to make decisions based on precedents and established guidelines. Solves problems using standard procedures and precedents. Knows when to refer issues to supervisor and when to handle them personally.

Knowledge and SkillsHas a working knowledge of a skill or discipline that requires basic analytic ability. Has an overall understanding of the work environment and process. Has working knowledge of the organization. Basic typing skills along with a working knowledge of personal computing and word processing software are required, preferably in a Microsoft Windows environment.

Requirements to be a Maintenance Technician

Maintenance Technicians will maintain scheduled and unscheduled maintenance on, but not limited to: HVAC, elevator, fire and sprinkler equipment, generators, landscape, kitchen equipment and emergency pull cord equipment. Maintenance Technicians will also perform general maintenance projects as scheduled or assigned and respond to maintenance requests by community directors and residents in both private rooms and public living areas. Responsibilities

Responsible for the direct management and supervision of the business office at a community. Coordinates and oversees all human resources, payroll, billing, and operational processes within the department. May also directly supervise housekeeping staff. Monitors efficiency levels within the business unit and financial resource utilization. Assists in and ensures efficient and effective communication with other departments.

  • Oversees the day-to-day operations of the business office, including staffing coverage and management.

  • Organizes office operations and procedures such as typing, flow of correspondence, filing, and other operational duties. Evaluates office production, revises procedures, and devises new forms to improve efficiency of work flow.

  • Processes orders for all necessary equipment and supplies. Orders within budgetary guidelines and maintains inventory control.

  • Accounts for administrative budget and provides reports to management as requested.

  • Promotes personal and professional growth of staff and conducts performance reviews. Places ads; interviews and makes hiring decisions regarding open positions. Works with human resources on disciplinary situations and meets with associates to discuss issues and concerns.

  • Reviews weekly payroll reports and addresses associate payroll concerns. Works with Corporate Payroll to resolve issues.

  • Completes or assists with special projects as requested by community or senior management.

  • Maintains associate personnel files. Completes staff training and orientation as needed.

  • Conducts community tours to prospective residents and their families.

  • Reviews and submits invoices to accounts payable for administration.

  • Monitors billing errors and long-distance coverage problems of telephone systems. Contacts provider to resolve issues.

  • Oversees mail room activities.

Responsibilities

Under close supervision, drives a large capacity passenger bus to transport residents to activities, errands, and destinations. Properly operates bus and ensures the safety of all passengers.

  • Drives daily and weekly route schedules to transport residents to shopping, entertainment, worship, medical offices, etc. Also drives residents to specially scheduled events.

  • Assists residents in and out of the bus utilizing the wheelchair lift and/or stairs, if needed. Carries and loads oxygen tanks and follows basic instructions and precautions for their use. Carries belongings, opens doors, and cautions residents on steps and other objects in their path. Opens/closes and loads/unloads walkers and wheelchairs.

  • Conducts daily checks of bus operation including fuel, oil, wipers, fluids, interior and exterior lights, etc. Notifies supervisor of concerns and needs. Drives bus to service center to obtain needed repairs and services. Maintains records and logs of internal and external service.

  • Fills the bus with gasoline at pre-approved service stations.

  • Ensures the interior and exterior of the bus is cleaned. Vacuums interior and collect and disposes of garbage. Wipes surfaces. Cleans windows. Washes exterior as necessary.

  • Responds appropriately and in a safe manner in the event of unforeseen operational malfunctions. Follows emergency procedures and ensures the protection of passengers. Ensures requirements relating to emergency exit doors, eating, drinking and smoking in or near vehicle are followed at all times.

  • Interacts with residents in a friendly manner providing meaningful attention and communicating concerns of resident's health to management as appropriate.

  • Responds appropriately to resident emergencies by calling or contacting appropriate internal and external parties according to established protocol. May also assist with disaster management efforts and activities during evacuations, (i.e. fires, hurricanes, etc.)

  • May also assist with activities and scheduled events such as bingo. Runs errands for events and community as requested.

Responsibilities

Manages the day-to-day healthcare operations of the community to ensure resident's healthcare needs are met. Ensures residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as resident's healthcare needs change.

  • Oversees and manages the continuity and consistency of medication training, pharmacy management and medication supervision and/or administration in the community. Conducts periodic Care Associate medication skills inventory checks, and periodic medication audits per Brookdale Guidelines.

  • Implements and maintains Brookdale operating standards, systems and processes. Monitors and participates in Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs at Safety Committee Meetings, Collaborative Care Meetings and Family Care Conferences.

  • Assists in the scheduling and follow through of physician visits including, but not limited to, dental appointments, eye appointments, therapy, and hospice both in house and scheduled visits out of the community. Ensures communication, as appropriate, on the results of these visits.

  • Completes documentation as required by Brookdale or state regulatory agencies.

Manages the day-to-day healthcare operations of the community to ensure resident's healthcare needs are met. Ensures residents are treated with respect and dignity and ensures quality care as resident's healthcare needs change.

  • Ensures consistent quality resident care and service delivery throughout all shifts; this may require assuming the role and responsibilities of a Caregiver or Med Tech/Aide in order to meet the residents' needs and staffing requirements.

  • Assists in the supervision of community-based licensed nursing staff, medication technicians/CMA's, and Caregivers.

  • Provides training and education to Caregivers on an ongoing basis to include classroom in-services and situation-specific training.

  • Oversees and manages the continuity and consistency of medication training, pharmacy management and medication supervision and/or administration in the community. Conducts periodic Care Associate medication skills inventory checks, and periodic medication audits per Brookdale Guidelines.

  • Implements and maintains Brookdale operating standards, systems and processes. Monitors and participates in Quality Improvement and Risk Management programs at Safety Committee Meetings, Collaborative Care Meetings and Family Care Conferences.

  • Assists in the scheduling and follow through of physician visits including, but not limited to, dental appointments, eye appointments, therapy, and hospice both in house and scheduled visits out of the community. Ensures communication, as appropriate, on the results of these visits.

  • Completes documentation as required by Brookdale or state regulatory agencies.

  • Communicates information in a timely manner to the appropriate person or agency regarding changes in residents' health/well-being, personal needs, risk management issues, customer service issues, family or outside health care provider concerns.

Ensures community is adequately staffed in order to meet resident's care and service needs and in accordance with the company standards and guidelines.

  • Supervises direct care staff as delegated by manager/supervisor.

Responsibilities

Under limited supervision, receives walk-in/call-in visitors and uses software systems to identify and contact leads provided by the Business Development Coordinator and current community residents. Effectively explains and demonstrates to prospective residents and their families the benefits of residing and receiving care at the community. Communicates sales and contractual information and closes contract sales to maintain and improve occupancy levels. Solicits assistance of community staff to promote and explain community services, practices, policies, pricing and other information necessary to close the sale.

  • Routinely reviews software databases to identify and follow-up on leads from all sources. Calls a lead and obtains additional information on personal residential and care needs. Encourages prospective residents and families to make wait list deposits. Maintains long term contact with prospects to encourage continued familiarity. Encourages and promotes visits and tours of community(s). Meets established goals regarding contacts and tours to achieve desired sales goals. Enters updated prospective resident information and status of relationship into the lead management system.

  • Maintains positive and understanding relationships with current residents and their family. Encourages their positive promotion of community to friends, acquaintances and family. Identifies religious, civic and social groups to which current residents belong to expand referral network. Cultivate leads with current residents through positive interaction and interest in activities and concerns. Follows-up with resident referrals as identified. Explains and promotes the Resident Referral Program to current residents.

  • Assists in identifying innovative events and methods to increase visitation of targeted groups. Assists in planning, sponsoring, organizing, and executing special events to inform and attract referrals and prospects to visit community. Presents and demonstrates the value and benefits of the community for its residents as appropriate to stimulate interest and sales.

  • Obtains and maintains knowledge of competitors. Communicates community features to best compete with competitor's strengths and weaknesses. May visit competitors' communities to understand how to best refer and market services and products.

  • Conducts personal tours of communities for prospective residents and family. Schedules meetings with staff department heads as requested or as deemed necessary to effectively convince potential residents of abilities to meet their residential and care needs. Understands needs of potential residents to highlight community features that will satisfy them.

  • Explains fee structure in a manner that will be most meaningful and that will clearly reflect the benefits of prospective resident's choices. Explains the physical and financial assessment processes to prospects and coordinates required staff interviews and credit checks.

  • Closes contractual arrangements. Communicates availability of units and status of waiting lists. Obtains necessary personal information and prepares standard, legal documents required for signature. Communicates pricing structures and service rates. Obtains signatures, required deposits and authorizations for move-ins.

  • Requests assistance of marketing assistant when appropriate to coordinate needs relating to logistics of new resident moves including such things as transference of keys, furniture move-in coordination, unit preparation, new resident orientation and welcoming, etc. Maintains continued contact to reflect concern and interest for their continued wellbeing and satisfaction after relocation to the community.

  • May provide input regarding the development of promotional brochures, videos and mailings as used in networking referrals and marketing to prospective residents.

  • Prepares written reports and communicates status of current success in a clear and concise manner.

Qualifications
