Job Description

AECOM has a position available for a Climate Geospatial Analyst to work in Fort Lauderdale, West Palm Beach or Miami, Florida. This role will lead GIS-based climate vulnerability and risk assessments and support adaptation planning projects for local, state, and federal clients in Florida. This an excellent opportunity for those with a passion and a career path for promoting climate change preparedness across disciplines (flood protection, stormwater, wastewater, transportation, environment, and urban planning). This is a hybrid-work model that may require 2-3 days per week in the office.

The responsibilities of this role include, but may not be limited to, the following:

  • Works under general direction

  • Programs and applies a broad range of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) database, and spreadsheet software for GIS design, mapping and analysis

  • Independently contributes to the design of databases or development of geodatabases and systems, as well as compiles and analyzes GIS data

  • May evaluate commercial GIS applications, as well as design and develop GIS applications for internal use and for client deliverables

  • Independently performs most assignments with instruction as to the general results expected

  • Receives technical guidance on unusual or complex problems and supervisory approval on proposed plans for projects

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS degree plus 6 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Demonstrated experience using commercial software such as ArcGIS, ArcGIS Pro, or AutoCAD

  • Experience preparing technical reports and memos and presenting to the public and to decision makers

  • Proven knowledge of Florida geography and climate

  • Due to the nature of the work, US Citizenship is required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Geographic Information Science, Geosciences, Marine Science, or a related field is desired

  • Masters degree in Coastal Science, Geosciences, Geographic Information Science, or related field

  • Relevant experience must include 5 years of experience in Coastal Science, Geographic Information Science, Climate Adaptation, or a related field

  • Experience including at least 2 years in a consulting role is preferred

  • Experience in the management of multi-disciplinary teams

  • Previous experience to include programming skills with proficiency in Python is helpful

  • Experience with producing and deploying interactive web maps (e.g., ESRI Story Map) desired

  • Demonstrated experience with geographic information systems related to coastal or stormwater climate resilience projects

Job Description

AECOM/Tishman has an exciting opportunity for an experienced MEP Project Manager for our construction project in Flushing, NY.

  • Provides overall management administration to project and assists in establishing project specific objectives and policies.

  • Provides technical direction and guidance to subordinate managers, enforces company and project policies, maintains close client interface, and ensures all facets of the project are constructed in accordance with design, budget and schedule through subordinate managers and supervisors. Position has significant profit/loss responsibility for assigned construction project.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirement:

  • BS/BA Engineering or relevant curriculum and 6 years of construction project management experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Requirements:

  • 6-10 years' experience in construction project management.

  • Experience in MEP (mechanical, electrical, plumbing) construction from a larger general contractor.

  • Ability/experience in managing heavy schedule-driven construction projects.

  • Experience in ground up and renovation construction projects, in excess of 200 MM.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

  • Experience with construction documentation such as change orders, RFI's, RFP's, etc.

  • Ability to read/interpret drawings.

Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a talented Structural Engineer Bridge Inspection to support our bridge inspection practice in our Conshohocken, PA office . This is a remote position but will also involve a combination of office and field work, performing bridge load rating analysis and hands-on inspection of bridge structures throughout the region. Load rating analysis tasks will include the use of commercial bridge analysis software, as well as occasional finite element modeling. Inspection tasks will include hands-on field observation of a variety of structural systems and documentation of defects. AECOM often wins contracts to inspect and analyze some of the most complex and interesting long-span bridges in the area, although we also inspect vast numbers of less complex bridges. This important role offers participation in a variety of challenging projects and a dynamic work environment due to the number, type and size of bridges that make up the vast portfolio of the experienced bridge group this engineer will be joining.

Responsibilities for this position include but are not limited to:

  • Structural analysis of bridges.

  • Working in the field performing hands-on bridge safety inspections

  • Field inspection work.

  • Significant amount of office responsibilities which include developing load rating calculations and models, field inspection reports, bridge repair recommendations and repair schemes, and cost estimates.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BA/BS in Civil or Structural Engineering plus two years of related experience and/or education.

  • Engineer in Training (EIT).

Preferred Qualifications

  • NBIS Certified Bridge Inspector Credentials.

  • At least 2 years of relevant experience in bridge engineering.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.

  • Ability to communicate (oral and written) effectively.

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects under the guidance of senior staff.

  • Assist in design of structured Telecom and Security cable infrastructure and pathways to support Voice, Data, Wi-Fi, CATV, Paging, Audio Visual, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and other IP-Based systems.

  • Assist in design of Telecom Room layouts including connection, outlet, and system details, copper and fiber backbone transmission media and one-line diagrams, interior and exterior pathways and sizing, system equipment elevations, system diagrams, and system schedules.

  • Construction oversite including specifications and contract drawing compliance, conducting site visits, formulating construction observation reports, and review of Submittals, RFIs, test results and other related Construction Administration tasks.

  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.

  • Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings.

  • Collaborating with the Managing Principal or MEP Practice Leader.

  • Working cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve the company's mission.

  • Ensures discipline plans meet overall project team requirements for scope and schedule.

  • Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to electrical, telecom, and security.

  • Develops designs within a BIM design environment.

  • Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards.

  • Review work product of junior team members for quality and project requirements.

  • Assist junior engineers in design development and professional growth.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited college or university or related field +2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 -4+ years of electrical and telecom consulting engineering and/or telecom experience

  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD design software

  • Strong preference for experience in the following markets: Federal, State, and Local Government, Federal DoD, Healthcare and Labs, Corporate Commercial / Mixed Use, Mission Critical Facilities

  • Excellent communication skills; articulate, assertive, and confident

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for supporting the electrical engineering design work on assigned projects under the guidance of senior staff.

  • Assist in design of structured Telecom and Security cable infrastructure and pathways to support Voice, Data, Wi-Fi, CATV, Paging, Audio Visual, CCTV, Access Control, Intrusion Detection, and other IP-Based systems.

  • Assist in design of Telecom Room layouts including connection, outlet, and system details, copper and fiber backbone transmission media and one-line diagrams, interior and exterior pathways and sizing, system equipment elevations, system diagrams, and system schedules.

  • Construction oversite including specifications and contract drawing compliance, conducting site visits, formulating construction observation reports, and review of Submittals, RFIs, test results and other related Construction Administration tasks.

  • Coordinating with multiple disciplines and ensuring that projects are delivered within budget and on schedule.

  • Writing reports for internal and external purposes based on findings.

  • Collaborating with the Managing Principal or MEP Practice Leader.

  • Working cooperatively with managers and other employees to achieve the company's mission.

  • Ensures discipline plans meet overall project team requirements for scope and schedule.

  • Stays current on codes and technologies appropriate to electrical, telecom, and security.

  • Ensures conformance with standards and established design practices, applicable codes, and technical adequacy of design and construction.

  • Organizes and conducts site visits for the purpose of data collection and evaluation of all low voltage systems and materials for projects with and without well-defined scopes.

  • Develops designs within a BIM design environment.

  • Directs activities to verify installed low voltage systems, equipment, components, and materials conform to the requirements of project contract documents.

  • Completes assigned engineering and design tasks in accordance with client specified criteria and applicable codes and standards.

  • Review work product of junior team members for quality and project requirements.

  • Assist junior engineers in design development and professional growth.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from ABET accredited college or university or related field +2 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education

  • Valid driver's license

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2 -4+ years of electrical and telecom consulting engineering and/or telecom experience

  • Experience with Revit and AutoCAD design software

  • Strong preference for experience in the following markets: Federal, State, and Local Government, Federal DoD, Healthcare and Labs, Corporate Commercial / Mixed Use, Mission Critical Facilities

  • Excellent communication skills; articulate, assertive, and confident

  • Creative thinker with effective teamwork skills

  • Familiarity with industry codes and standards (NEC, NESC, IEEE, etc.)

  • Strong written and verbal skills with ability to support engineering tasks.

  • Provides technical leadership for a specialty and is considered to be an expert professional in their field.

Qualifications

Job Description

AECOM is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment Specialist IV to assist on AECOM's VDOT related projects. This role will be a hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of remote and some travel. This position will be based out of Virginia Beach, VA.

The Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Evaluates and implements SH&E programs and procedures which meet or exceed OSHA and government compliance requirements related to safety, health, and environment

  • Knowledgeable in DOT Safety Program Management to include the MUTCD and the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (WAPM)

  • Attends VDOT project meetings, reviews task-specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and assists with safety planning.

  • Mitigate hazards and associated risks within the organization to reduce work-related injury and illness as well as costs incurred from incidents and accidents

  • Monitor the corporate and regional safety programs and policies and procedures as they align to the project plan, seeking to improve year-over-year safety performance, awareness, and behaviors continuously

  • Maintain knowledge of OSHA regulations, programs, and current issues

  • Develop, coordinate, and implement safety training materials and programs

  • Make certain all state and federal recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met

  • Securely and accurately record and maintain employee and safety training records

  • Actively manage employee injuries by working with all appropriate internal and external contacts, including workers' compensation carrier, the client, regional safety, and HR

  • Investigate and document all reported incidents and near misses; coordinate and conduct an injury review process to determine and correct root causes

  • Develop and lead safety audit programs; conduct regular safety inspections, recommend improvement plans, report results, and follow up

  • Serves as Team Leader for Safety Committee and Project Incident Investigations

  • Provides technical safety consulting services for project initiatives

  • Conducts or assists with new employee project orientation and basic training with AECOM and subcontractor employees

  • Conducts frequent inspections of VDOT project and identifies current and future safety challenges

  • Coordinates with VDOT project teams in establishing and administering safety recognition programs and initiatives

  • Empowers project staff by preparing comprehensive written reports of project inspections and assisting in correcting and preventing hazards, fostering a culture of safety responsibility.

  • Provide routine updates to the Transportation Project SH&E Manager and Regional Safety Director on project safety performance

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements

  • BS/BA + 6 years of relevant safety, heath and/or environment experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Ability to travel to other facilities to perform inventory duties using a AECOM provided Vehicle.

  • For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM's background check process to ensure compliance with the Company's driving standards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience leading safety in a large, diverse team covering a large geography.

  • Advanced certifications in safety and/or transportation (ASP, CSP, STS, CHST, SCTPP) a plus.

  • 10 Hour OSHA Certification preferred.

  • 6 or more years of experience in any of the following:

  • State or federal transportation agencies,

  • Highway construction/work zone management,

  • Light Truck Fleet Management (utility service vehicles or similar),

  • Emergency management,

  • Public safety or law enforcement

  • Applying technological solutions to work zone safety

  • Serves on boards or committees related to work zone or transportation safety

Job Description

AECOM is actively seeking a driven, attentive Bridge Engineer and Construction Engineering Representative for immediate employment to join our Class I Railroad Team. This individual may report out of AECOM's Indianapolis office (preferred) or Chicago office.

The new team member will be supporting AECOM's Class I Railroad Public Improvements team on projects throughout Indiana and adjacent states. The ideal candidate shall demonstrate experience in engineering design, construction inspection, or project management. Experience with Class I Railroads is preferred but not required. This role offers the ability to grow into a task leadership role with additional responsibilities.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Builds analytic and design skills.

  • Conducts engineering design under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Creates designs, calculations, sketches, diagrams, schematic drawings, and final working drawings under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Collects and analyzes data under the supervision of an experienced engineer.

  • Uses computer software as a tool for solving basic engineering problems.

  • Performs work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

  • On-site monitoring of field operations conducted by outside parties and their contractors for conformance with Railroad requirements and approved contractor means and methods.

  • Coordinating with Public Improvement client personnel, project sponsors, and contractors to help deliver our scope of services to the Railroad client throughout the design and construction phases of the project.

  • Reviewing sponsor plans, contractor submissions, and contractor calculations for impacts and constructability issues as they relate to the Railroad client.

  • Maintaining accurate project records and being accountable for successful and timely delivery of project documentation (i.e., field reports and meeting minutes) while upholding the highest quality standards of AECOM and the Railroad client.

  • Proactively responding to client requests and input.

  • Assisting task leaders with managing of the engineering, administration, and financial tasks for a current General Engineering Contract (GEC) with the Railroad.

  • Performing work in accordance with agreed upon budget and schedule under supervision.

  • BA/BS Civil or Structural Engineering plus demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Engineering Intern to be based in Cleveland, OH.

This position is expected to begin in January 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Open Roads Designer a plus

Additional Information

  • Relocation is not available for this position.

  • Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $18/hour - $24/hour.
