Job Description

As a Senior Data Scientist at AECOM, you will help drive the design and implementation of our data infrastructure for the Program Management business line. This includes helping define data, data models, and data architecture for the purposes of PgM BL specific needs, as well as individual program and program team needs.

You will be working on our program management tools in partnership with internal technology teams and regions responsible for developing and delivering business solutions. Your focus will be ensuring data and dashboarding standardization, platform scalability, security, and efficient data management on an ongoing basis. Your expertise and familiarity with program management data will help internal technology teams deliver on our data strategy, supporting Enterprise Critical Pursuit/ Tier 2 program teams, driving efficiency, enabling rapid data-driven decision-making, and positioning AECOM as an industry leader in the program management space.

Responsibilities:

Data Architecture Design :

  • Develop and maintain the overall PgM data architecture, including data models, schemas, and databases. This includes ad-hoc addition of data from individual clients or other sources as needed.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams (internal technology teams, regional BL, etc.) to define data requirements for global programs.

  • Partner with internal technology teams to help drive decisions on buy versus build with clearly articulated business rationale.

  • Partner with internal technology teams to help drive IP vision in the program reporting space (what is our secret sauce, what should we absolutely own and protect, and why)

Data Governance and Standards :

  • Contribute to data governance policies, ensuring compliance with corporate and industry regulations.

  • Help define data standards, best practices, and guidelines for data management relating to Programs and the PgM GBL.

  • Data lifecycle management for program data

  • Familiarity with global requirements around data residency.

System/Data Integration :

  • Overseeing PgM data integration and developing integration strategies/schemas across various platforms (e.g., BIM, program management tools) on a program-by-program basis.

  • Ensure seamless data flow and interoperability for delivery of automated dashboarding and AI/ML support.

  • Ensure design is flexible enough to account for client and country-specific regulatory and data residency requirements.

Scalability and Performance :

  • Drive optimization of data storage and retrieval processes for large-scale programs.

  • Address performance bottlenecks and scalability challenges.

  • Ensure support for AI/ML analytics

Security and Privacy :

  • Inform delivery of robust data security measures, safeguarding sensitive information in accordance with client and corporate policy.

  • Collaborate with both internal and client cross-functional teams (IT, cybersecurity, etc.) to mitigate risks.

Collaboration and Training :

  • Work closely with internal technology teams, data scientists, engineers, digital business leads, product managers, and program managers.

  • Train program teams on data-related processes and tools.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS plus 8 years of experience in data analysis and architecture, preferably in the AEC industry or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in database design, ETL processes, and data modeling. Ability to partner closely with internal technology teams and external vendors, helping drive the data strategy vision, providing requirements, and articulating any design tradeoffs to the business. Additional ability to parse standard/universal program data needs from bespoke program management client needs is a must.

  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with AEC program management domain, including the end-to-end program lifecycle, including initiation, design, construction, and maintenance phases. Additional areas of familiarity desired:

  • BIM (Building Information Modeling) concepts

  • Construction, materials, and logistics

  • Regulatory compliance

  • GIS

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience in data analysis and architecture, preferably in the AEC industry. Previous experience building robust program reporting systems for international clients is a major plus.

  • The ideal candidate will also be able to provide solutions to bridge any gaps and create a seamless client experience between the standard reporting tool and the very specific client reporting needs. They will operate as a key part of the change management process, acting as an advocate for the toolset, and working directly with clients and programs to ensure benefits are defined and achieved.

  • This position is remote, with occasional travel to meetings and program sites required.

Offered compensation will be based on location and individual qualifications. The expected range is $84,000.00 - $153,000.00.

Job Description

AECOM is seeking an Summer Intern to be based in Chicago, Illinois .

This position is expected to begin in May 2025.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Internship will be with the Chicago Transportation Civil Engineering group working on projects such as planning and design for streets, highways, and transit infrastructure improvements.

  • Internships are designed to introduce and build essential, hands-on skills that differ from those attained in the academic arena and help to enhance the transition from student to professional.

  • Interns are assigned duties that will provide a broad, well-rounded learning experience within their field of study

  • Intern 1 - completion of first year of qualified study

  • CAD design, design calculation and preparation of plan drawings

Qualifications

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering and must have completed at least one year of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a Bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the Master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Successful candidates would join our diverse team to engage with our expanding pool of public and private sector clients to complete environmental compliance processes and documentation. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience in environmental planning and permitting efforts associated with the Pacific Northwest, specifically permitting by the Oregon and Washington Energy Facility Siting Councils (EFSC and EFSEC)

  • Knowledge of and experience applying the policies, standards, and regulations of County and municipal land use in Oregon and Washington.

  • Demonstrated experience in the preparation NEPA, SEPA, and/or CEQA environmental documents.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of regulatory requirements of Sections 401 and 404 of the Clean Water Act, the Endangered Species Act, and the National Historic Preservation Act.

CHAMP Dispatch Trainers are responsible for providing training to the statewide Districts (1-6) in the operation of the Advanced Traffic Management Systems (ATMS) software, customer service, traffic incident management, radio dispatch and District Operations. They are also responsible for assisting with the development and maintenance of CHAMP Dispatch Operations training materials, assisting with the development and maintenance of CHAMP Dispatch Operations Standard Operating Procedures (SOP), Standard Operating Guides (SOG), and training manuals; conducting CHAMP recertification testing; and providing coaching to new and existing CHAMP Dispatch staff.

  • Assist the Statewide Operations Training Manager (SOTM) and Statewide Dispatch Operations Manager (SDOM) with the development and maintenance of a series of classroom and on-line training packages for CHAMP Dispatch Operators, and CHAMP Dispatch Supervisors.

  • Provide on-site and virtual training with CHAMP Dispatch new hires and existing staff.

  • Assist the Statewide Operations Training Manager (SOTM) and Statewide Dispatch Operations Manager (SDOM) with the development and maintenance of classroom and on-line training in conjunction with the Department's software provider on training for ATMS.

  • Attend TIM meetings to improve training.

  • Participate in bi-weekly statewide training team meetings.

  • Conduct in-person coaching for new hires and existing CHAMP Dispatch staff.

  • Adhere to traffic incident management and CHAMP Dispatch Operations SOPs, SOGs, and information in the training manuals.

  • Capable of performing all the CHAMP Dispatch Operator duties.

  • Spend one (1) full shift each month at a CHAMP District Office functioning as a CHAMP Dispatch Operator to allow continual growth and improvement of the training experience.

  • Frequent travel to all six districts, and concurrent days away from home.

  • Other ad-hoc initiatives as assigned by the Project Management Team.

Responsibilities will include the oversight and management of various project tasks, the development of technical concepts and designs, and the preparation of documents including reports, studies, plans, specifications, and estimates. Qualifications

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Registration as a Licensed Professional Engineer in the State (CA Preferred) or able to register for PE exam within 1 year.

  • Assisting in developing Rail Project alignments, right-of-way determination, and utility coordination utilizing Openroad's Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD, various Civil Engineering design software applications, and MS Office applications.

AECOM is searching for a Working Capital Manager to join the West Region Finance Team, reporting directly to the West Regional Finance Director (RFD). This role will partner with finance, operational leaders, and Client Account Managers to ensure delivery of regional financial targets, focused on end-to-end working capital and DSO.

The primary responsibility of the Manager is to help improve cash management in the Region, and to ensure timely and accurate billing, collections, cash application, disbursements, reporting and client interactions in the West Region. This role requires a client-focused mind-set as well as strong analytical and organizational skills.

This role will be a remote position that can be based anywhere in the US, but candidates will need to be willing to potentially work Pacific Standard Time, Mountain Standard Time and/or Central Standard Time hours.

Job Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

Strategic activities

  • Develops the region's working capital forecasts (billing, cash, disbursements) for review and agreement by the RFD.

  • Reviews and agrees to region-specific working capital targets (billing, cash, disbursements) with AMER FP&A aligned to a) outlook and b) stretched targets for short term cash requirements.

  • Reviews forecasting against targets, developing analysis of gaps and providing proposals / tactics for managing gaps.

  • Builds strong relationships with region-specific Leadership and Regional Operations/Finance counterparts to achieve Cash and Billing targets and serve as the escalation point of contact for issues.

  • Works closely with operations to understand project manager issues and seeks to find resolution by adjusting processes, reporting and tools to alleviate.

  • Driving a cash flow culture, ensuring that operations understand the impact of actions on cash flow; including training project teams in using W/C systems and tools.

  • Ensures global credit & collection strategy and policies are aligned with regional/local specific requirements.

  • Works with key stakeholders to drive tangible financial improvements for the assigned region(s) to include, but not limited to, DSO reduction, Operating Cash Flow improvement and credit risk mitigation.

Operational activities

  • Drives regional adoption of robust / improved credit analysis and reporting.

  • Provides guidance, oversight, and management of Key Account Clients.

  • Manages key metrics to ensure compliance with service level agreements, KPIs and benchmarks against industry leaders.

  • Enforce policies and controls for the overall O2C process including compliance to all internal and external regulatory/legal (e.g., SOX control and reporting requirements).

  • Champions and drives continuous process improvement efforts within the Region.

Management activities

  • Provides leadership for planning, goal setting, supporting system initiatives and implementing new processes and policies for the Region.

  • Develops new processes, procedures and reporting to drive improved cash collections.

  • Cultivates an environment that encourages maximum productivity and service effectiveness, professional development, open communication and teamwork.

  • Ensures appropriate training and knowledge transfer occurs across all relevant business processes.

  • Actively seeks service level feedback from external as well as internal clients and stakeholders.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • BA/BS + 8 years of relevant financial operation experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior financial experience working for a global organization a plus.

  • Prior experience within the AEC industry a plus.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office including PowerPoint, Word and Excel.

  • Strong written and oral communications skills

  • Experience building and maintaining strong internal relationships.

  • Strong attention to detail to ensure accuracy, completeness, and thoroughness.

This position is expected to begin in December 2024 & June 2025

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Assisting in developing Rail Project alignments, right-of-way determination, and utility coordination utilizing Openroad's Designer, MicroStation, AutoCAD, various Civil Engineering design software applications, and MS Office applications.

  • Assisting with preliminary to final design calculations and plan development, reviewing field information, possible field inspection of existing facilities, and other work consistent with the duties of an entry-level engineer.

  • Apply standard engineering techniques and procedures.

  • Perform assignments under the direct supervision of a professional or Project Manager.

  • General office administration, including report reproduction, collation, and deliveries.

  • Enthusiastic individuals eager to face new challenges and take on personal responsibilities are best qualified to meet the demands of this work. An intern is expected to be able to apply technical training to perform basic calculations, work well in a team setting, and be willing to work diligently to learn new skills.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Candidates must be pursuing a bachelor's degree in civil engineering focusing on rail engineering and must have completed at least three years of study. Candidates who have recently graduated with a bachelor's degree and plan to continue with the master's degree are eligible to apply for these positions. Recent graduates must have been enrolled in their bachelor's degree in the most previous school term with an interest in pursuing an advanced degree in the same or similar discipline at the conclusion of the internship.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:

Project Manager will lead and execute interdisciplinary projects that will include a broad range of customer and project types with a focus on architectural projects.
