Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Traffic and ITS Engineer to be based in either our PA, WV, or DE office.
This position is expected to begin in May 2025.
The responsibilities of this position includes, but are not limited to:
Supports planning studies and reports for new and updated plans, programs and regulations.
Reviews or assists in the review of development proposals and site plans for conformance with codes, plans and regulations.
Prepares and presents detailed reports on development proposals to government bodies.
Collects a variety of statistical data and prepares reports and maps on topics, such as census information, land use, transportation tax base data and occupancy rates.
Will be responsible for preparing reports and studies and developing plans for various transportation facilities and traffic engineering projects.
Under direct supervision, conducts field evaluations and assessments.
Successful candidates will have knowledge of traffic engineering concepts and a working knowledge of traffic analysis software programs. Advancement opportunities are available to those candidates who show initiative and firm understanding of design concepts and leadership skills.

Engineer-in-Training certification.

Any prior design experience with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) and/or Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) as it relates to traffic engineering, signal design, ITS design, plan production, project estimates, and specifications is a plus.
Applicable course work in Transportation/Traffic Engineering and/or Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS).
Effective oral and written communication skills are a must.
Must be self-motivated with a desire to work on a broad range of transportation projects.

AECOM is seeking a Transportation Engineer to be based in Sacramento, CA .
SUMMARY:
The Transportation Engineer performs a wide variety of professional engineering work in an office setting. They are responsible for all activities related to the development, approval, and implementation of policies and procedures, for contract management of the architectural and engineering consultants working on a high-speed rail program, and project management activities related to the scope, schedule, budget, and strategic planning for contracts.

Provides assistance in developing Strategic Delivery policies, procedures, and processes.

Job Description
AECOM offers a comprehensive suite of Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), private utility locating, and services to its diverse customer base composed of Engineering, Environmental, Utility, Surveying, and other Construction, and Infrastructure. We are seeking a SUE Field Supervisor in the Glen Allen, PA area.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities include (but are not limited to)
Hybrid position consisting of expected time spent split 75% field, 25% office.
Responsible for managing and day to day operations of multiple field crews.
Ensuring field teams adherence to AECOM's strict guidelines for safety and quality.
Responsible for creation, and maintenance of field crew schedule for field teams across numerous projects of diverse scope across multiple locations.
Ensure adherence to field schedule to ensure projects are completed within communicated schedule/budget.
Read and interpret utility drawings, as-builts, GIS Files and other forms of utility records data.
Initiate, track, and process, and document utility records requests with various Utility One Call Centers and Utility Owners/Operators.
Utilize a suite of advanced geophysical equipment (to include Ground Penetrating Radar), observational skills, and deductive reasoning to identify, designate and locate (vacuum excavation) all utilities within a requested job scope in accordance with American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE) 38-02 & 38-22.
Utilize GPS and Total Station survey equipment in combination with Trimble Data Collectors and applications including Trimble Access and Trimble Mobile manager to survey utility features and line segments.
Perform field audits on previously investigated utilities and/or collected field data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
Perform QA/QC of SUE field data and performed by AECOM and its subcontractors.
Troubleshoot technical problems in the field.
Consistently and effectively communicate with field and office staff as well as Managers and Professionals in Charge to relay project information
Act as an advisor/mentor to junior field staff.
Occasional interaction with clients, utility representatives, business owners and/or homeowners.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
BS Degree + 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
SUE and/or private utility locating experience equivalent with a demonstrated commitment to quality and attention to detail.
Experience and understanding of SUE practices and procedures in accordance with ASCE 38-02 & 38-22.
Position requires frequent traveling to field locations. Locations and distances vary and could include occasional overnight travel.
Frequent lifting of equipment up to 50 pounds unassisted.
Frequent outdoor work in a variety of seasonal weather conditions.
Daily walking several miles to perform job duties. Frequently across outdoor construction environments with a variety of uneven terrains such as mud, rock, grass, dirt and other unpaved terrains and variable outdoor conditions including heat, cold, dust, and noise.
Valid U.S. Driver's License required to regularly drive AECOM vehicles to project sites. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated proficiency with pipe and cable locators such as Radio Detection RD and Vivax Metrotech vLoc Pro to designate all utility types t include EMS Marker Ball detection.
Proficiency with Ground Penetrating Radar (GPR) such as Impulse Radar's PinpointR GPR System.
Advanced understanding of Surveying best practices, techniques, and equipment for Virtual Reference Station (VRS), Base Station and Total Station surveys.
Proficiency with Microsoft 365 suite of applications to include Office, Excel, Teams, and Word.
Proficiency with ArcGIS suite of services to include, Field Maps, Survey 123, and Workforce including documentation, implementation and trouble shooting.
Proficiency in the safe operation of hydro/air vacuum excavation trucks and equipment.
Detailed-oriented and ability to maintain a professional and positive attitude consistent with AECOM's Core Values.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with little direct supervision.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:

Motor Vehicle check will be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
15 years of professional experience in Emerging Technology / ITS Field, Program Management, Project Management, or Engineering.

Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment Specialist IV to assist on AECOM's VDOT related projects. This role will be a hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of remote and some travel. This position will be based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
The Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Evaluates and implements SH&E programs and procedures which meet or exceed OSHA and government compliance requirements related to safety, health, and environment
Knowledgeable in DOT Safety Program Management to include the MUTCD and the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (WAPM)
Attends VDOT project meetings, reviews task-specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and assists with safety planning.
Mitigate hazards and associated risks within the organization to reduce work-related injury and illness as well as costs incurred from incidents and accidents
Monitor the corporate and regional safety programs and policies and procedures as they align to the project plan, seeking to improve year-over-year safety performance, awareness, and behaviors continuously
Maintain knowledge of OSHA regulations, programs, and current issues
Develop, coordinate, and implement safety training materials and programs
Make certain all state and federal recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met
Securely and accurately record and maintain employee and safety training records
Actively manage employee injuries by working with all appropriate internal and external contacts, including workers' compensation carrier, the client, regional safety, and HR
Investigate and document all reported incidents and near misses; coordinate and conduct an injury review process to determine and correct root causes
Develop and lead safety audit programs; conduct regular safety inspections, recommend improvement plans, report results, and follow up
Serves as Team Leader for Safety Committee and Project Incident Investigations
Provides technical safety consulting services for project initiatives
Conducts or assists with new employee project orientation and basic training with AECOM and subcontractor employees
Conducts frequent inspections of VDOT project and identifies current and future safety challenges
Coordinates with VDOT project teams in establishing and administering safety recognition programs and initiatives
Empowers project staff by preparing comprehensive written reports of project inspections and assisting in correcting and preventing hazards, fostering a culture of safety responsibility.
Provide routine updates to the Transportation Project SH&E Manager and Regional Safety Director on project safety performance
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements
BS/BA + 6 years of relevant safety, heath and/or environment experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Ability to travel to other facilities to perform inventory duties using a AECOM provided Vehicle.
For positions with driving responsibilities, Motor Vehicle Records are reviewed as part of AECOM's background check process to ensure compliance with the Company's driving standards.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading safety in a large, diverse team covering a large geography.
Advanced certifications in safety and/or transportation (ASP, CSP, STS, CHST, SCTPP) a plus.
10 Hour OSHA Certification preferred.
6 or more years of experience in any of the following:

Highway construction/work zone management,

AECOM is actively seeking a productive, flexible, and highly talented Traffic Management Center Operator for immediate employment in Indianapolis, IN. - NOT A REMOTE OPPORTUNITY.
This is full-time position. The applicant can establish a career in operations and customer service, specific to a fast paced, technology driven work environment.
The TMC Operator assists INDOT operations. The operator disseminates information verbally and electronically regarding active incidents, such as stranded motorist, crashes, etc., to INDOT's Hoosier Helper Freeway Service Patrol. Work within a Traffic Management Center also includes, but not limited to,
Monitoring CCTV traffic cameras, radio communications with INDOT personnel and other emergency responding agencies using 10 codes, incident identification and response call-out, customer service representative, and implementing required traffic control and other associated warning devices to advise the public of incidents and events impacting traffic flow.
Operators are responsible for the quality, accuracy and timeliness of all information disseminated.
Operators maintain contact with Indiana State Police (ISP) Dispatch and other emergency responders, communicate and coordinate incident and road blocking information with INDOT maintenance and district staff as needed, provides other appropriate response agencies of scene details, provides information to motorists by displaying traveler information messages on Dynamic Message Boards (DMS), and provides overall information to verify and update information regarding ongoing incidents, associated backup/traffic delays and estimated clearance times.
Operators assist the general public by correctly inputting data into INDOT's Global Events Manager (GEM) and CARS database for incidents, construction, and maintenance activities impacting traffic flow to generate events in web applications.
Review all events, signs, and traveler information for accuracy.
Operators assess large volumes of data (both static and real-time) from a wide variety of sources to detect possible roadway incidents.
They monitor road sensor data and confirm the data using CCTV video.
Effective communication is an important part of this process as operators maintain telephone and/or radio communications with incident responders, DOT field personnel and other public and private agencies.
Once assessment is complete, operators determine the facts and severity of traffic incidents and prepares the information for dissemination to the motoring public.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
High school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
Must pass a State and Federal criminal history/security background check.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screen.
Ability and Flexibility to work a variety of shifts.
Constantly operate a computer and other monitoring equipment.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time monitoring Intelligent Transportation Systems such CCTV camera displays, meters, law enforcement radio broadcasts, answering/responding to calls and communicating to other staff or partner agencies.
Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience as a transportation Traffic Management Center Operator/Dispatcher a plus, but not a requirement

AECOM is currently seeking a Project Inspector for a Federal Client in the DC Metro Area. This is an onsite position and will start once the project has been won.
Responsibilities include but are limited to the following:
Reviewing and interpreting plans and specifications for completeness, accuracy, and constructability
Field construction inspection and reporting will comprise the majority of the work.
Interaction with clients and contractors requires candidate to have a professional presentation along with excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
The Inspectors will perform the Quality Assurance and other related work for the client and project to which the Inspectors are assigned and will perform all assigned duties during the period indicated.
Daily written reports and electronic (Excel) spreadsheets will be furnished to the Contracting Officer or the Contracting Officer's Representative each day.
It is the Inspector's responsibility to assure that the terms and condition of the plans and specifications are being met.

Performs quality assurance and contract administration for construction projects assigned.
Works under supervision of Government and Resident Engineers, who assign responsibilities and delegates authority to make determinations and decisions, e.g., construction progress and pay entitlement, QA and other contract compliance.
Administers on-site safety standards compliance. Resolves unsafe work conditions and practices. Administers the Accident Prevention Plan
Prepares construction modification documents to include sketches and cost estimates. Evaluates impact of modification to schedule. Gathers and evaluates field data.
Evaluates proposals from contractor and makes recommendation to supervisor.
Prepares progress reports. Reviews schedules, shop drawings, submittals and contractor quality control reports. Compare data to project documents for consistency. Initiates corrective action as required.
Evaluates contractor's progress reports for consistency with project progress, material quantities and storage, and man-hours. Prepares and coordinates contractor payment documents utilizing progress reports.
Reports and records significant job progress, critical issues and potential problems. Ensures corrective measures are applied in the field of by elevating problems to appropriate level.
Independently inspects construction work and incoming materials and equipment to determine compliance with contract documents and schedule.
Prepares and transfers contract revisions, material submittals, and as-built information.
Reviews submittals and maintains submittal registry.
Conducts labor interviews with contractor personnel. Checks interview data against payrolls. Enforces compliance with applicable laws.

15 years of relevant experience including dam analysis, investigation, design, construction, project management.
Masters degree in Civil Engineering or related field preferred.

The primary responsibility involves leading client-facing activities including driving business with existing clients, generating new business, and leading delivery of major projects and programs.

AECOM is seeking a Safety, Health & Environment Specialist IV to assist on AECOM's VDOT related projects. This role will be a hybrid work arrangement to include a combination of remote and some travel. This position will be based out of Virginia Beach, VA.
The Job duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Evaluates and implements SH&E programs and procedures which meet or exceed OSHA and government compliance requirements related to safety, health, and environment
Knowledgeable in DOT Safety Program Management to include the MUTCD and the Virginia Work Area Protection Manual (WAPM)
Attends VDOT project meetings, reviews task-specific Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), and assists with safety planning.
Mitigate hazards and associated risks within the organization to reduce work-related injury and illness as well as costs incurred from incidents and accidents
Monitor the corporate and regional safety programs and policies and procedures as they align to the project plan, seeking to improve year-over-year safety performance, awareness, and behaviors continuously
Maintain knowledge of OSHA regulations, programs, and current issues
Develop, coordinate, and implement safety training materials and programs
Make certain all state and federal recordkeeping and reporting requirements are met
Securely and accurately record and maintain employee and safety training records
Actively manage employee injuries by working with all appropriate internal and external contacts, including workers' compensation carrier, the client, regional safety, and HR
Investigate and document all reported incidents and near misses; coordinate and conduct an injury review process to determine and correct root causes
Develop and lead safety audit programs; conduct regular safety inspections, recommend improvement plans, report results, and follow up
Serves as Team Leader for Safety Committee and Project Incident Investigations
Provides technical safety consulting services for project initiatives
Conducts or assists with new employee project orientation and basic training with AECOM and subcontractor employees
Conducts frequent inspections of VDOT project and identifies current and future safety challenges
Coordinates with VDOT project teams in establishing and administering safety recognition programs and initiatives

Preferred Qualifications
Experience leading safety in a large, diverse team covering a large geography.
Advanced certifications in safety and/or transportation (ASP, CSP, STS, CHST, SCTPP) a plus.
10 Hour OSHA Certification preferred.
6 or more years of experience in any of the following:
State or federal transportation agencies,
Highway construction/work zone management,
Light Truck Fleet Management (utility service vehicles or similar),

AECOM is seeking a visionary and self-motivated Regional Market Sector Business Development Leader (Hybrid) to accelerate our strategic growth in Emerging Technology and Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) services across Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota.
As a high-impact, external-facing leader, you will represent AECOM in the marketplace, overseeing business development, sales, and strategy for our emerging technology and ITS business line. Lead the growth of AECOM's Emerging Technology / ITS services in Michigan, Ohio, Kentucky, Indiana, Illinois, Wisconsin, and Minnesota, while supporting similar peers in other geographies.
Collaborate and work jointly with local Emerging Technology / ITS departments, business lines, regional leadership, and market sector leaders to identify new business opportunities and develop innovative strategies to capitalize on them.
Independently identify, pursue, and cultivate new business prospects in emerging technology / ITS, while working with senior leadership to proactively mitigate risks and optimize business development outcomes.
Develop and deliver upon near- and long-term strategic plan goals set by the senior leadership team with regard to key client/account wins, sales/booking targets, revenue targets, and other key performance indicators.
Lead and manage large-scale business development pursuits within emerging technology / ITS services, providing strategic direction and expertise.
Develop and maintain technical leadership and strategic direction in client relationship management, proposal development, presentations, and growth initiatives specific to emerging technology / ITS related consultant services.
Create and execute capture plans that include strategic teaming arrangements and differentiation tactics to strengthen AECOM's competitive position and support the success of client projects.
Prepare impactful, persuasive client-facing proposals and presentations in collaboration with marketing teams, presenting to potential clients in the emerging technology / ITS field.
Prepare detailed cost proposals in partnership with peers that align with client requirements and AECOM's business objectives.
Foster innovation in traffic engineering approaches and methodologies to achieve differentiation in the marketplace.
Support recruitment and talent development strategies, including support for identifying talent gaps or developing resourcing plans to meet current and future needs.
Recommend workforce planning and skill development initiatives to enhance team capabilities and support future growth in emerging technology / ITS related services.
Lead selected pursuits through client relationship development, strategy formulation, and active participation in all pursuit activities.
Represent AECOM in industry associations and serve as a role model within business and community organizations.
Develop and maintain relationships with industry counterparts in other consulting organizations, industry vendors, and the contracting community within the emerging technology / ITS field.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree; in Engineering, Business, or similar discipline related to this role.
Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience; or demonstrated equivalency of experience and education, including 2 years of leadership.
U.S. Citizenship is required due to the nature of the work.
Motor Vehicle check will be required.
Preferred Qualifications:
15 years of professional experience in Emerging Technology / ITS Field, Program Management, Project Management, or Engineering.
10 years in a leadership capacity and client account management.
At least 10 years of experience in developing responses to public Requests for Proposals (RFPs), conducting competitive interviews, presenting to prospective clients in the emerging technology / ITS related services sector.
Professional Engineer (PE) license, or other relevant certification is preferred.
Existing client and vendor working relationships in the geographic market described herein; with an emphasis on the Michigan and Ohio markets.
Proven track record in successful business development with a track record of cumulative wins of over twenty million dollars over the past three years in the emerging technology and ITS related consultant services sectors.
Detailed technical understanding of how transportation technology landscape across all modes of surface transportation travel is changing, consultant services in this industry and how clients are looking to plan, design, construct, integrate, operate, and maintain these technology deployments.

Job Summary/Responsibilities:
The Project Manager our team is seeking will lead and execute interdisciplinary projects that fall within our Federal market sector. Our Federal portfolio is a broad and diverse range of clients and project types with a focus on integrated A/E solutions. This leader will be responsible for managing scope, schedule, and budget of projects across the project lifecycle - from conceptual studies to full design and construction administration.
The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
Leading the delivery of projects from proposal phase through Client handover.
Acts as primary point of contact for Clients and manages the relationship with all stakeholders.
Manages all aspects of a project including project needs and requirements, schedule, fees, deliverables, contract terms and conditions, and the like.
Coordination of internal and external project team members.
Ability to clearly and effectively communicate; written, verbal, and presentations.
Provide senior management with project updates included status of project budget, deliverables, quality, and client relationship.
Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects
Will participate in project pursuits, including generation of Scope of Work, project team, fee production, and review of terms and conditions.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, Engineering or a related field
4+ years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
Architectural Licensure or Professional Engineer
Due to the nature of work, U.S. Citizenship is required.
Preferred Qualifications:
8+ years of experience in a project leadership or management role overseeing complex architectural or engineering projects in the Federal market
PMP Certification is a plus
Comprehensive grasp of the design methodology and process
Proficient in conveying complex information in a clear and concise manner
Demonstrated ability to tailor communication style to different audiences and contexts
Demonstrates a keen eye for detail, exhibits thoroughness, maintains excellent organizational skills, and adeptly manages time
Team player with excellent listening skills and diplomacy
Proficiency in recognizing and comprehending various contract formats
Well versed in project management best practices such as earned value, change management, schedule management.
Exceptional organizational abilities - adept at managing concurrent tasks efficiently
Proactively goal-driven, capable of independent work, and skilled in navigating change with effectiveness
Experience participating in business development/marketing activities with existing and new clients
Proficient in REVIT
Strong understanding of Microsoft Project and Power BI
Strong understanding of Microsoft Office Suite; word, excel, PowerPoint
