We're hiring a temporary Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support to our School Engagement team. The temporary assignment will run approximately six months - starting around October 1 through March 31, 2025. We're looking for individuals who can complete the entire duration of the assignment. Work hours are flexible between 7:30am and 5pm.
This is a part-time, temporary position working 29 hours per week with an end date of March 31, 2025. This is a home-based position and location is flexible within the six states of our SW region territory including the states of AR, CO, NM, OK, TX, and WY.
The Association offers many resources to help you maintain work-life harmonization through your changing needs and life situations. To help you be successful, you will have access to Heart U, our award-winning corporate university, as well as additional training and support, locally.

Create customized letters and emails using Microsoft Word Mail Merge features and Luminate.
Update CRM database, Dynamics, with data and activity for donors, participants, and accounts. Prepare reports.
Develop, coordinate, and maintain record keeping and filing systems for area of responsibility.
Making phone calls to support the work of the field staff.
Potential for light graphic design using Canva.

This individual will be a market and system account lead for the national CKMH initiative. Lead and coordinate initiative activities and commitments across a cohort of specific markets. Responsibilities
Researches and identifies healthcare institutions/systems to target for initiative participation. Works closely with designated market team on all aspects of health system recruitment and onboarding, including strategy. Build strong relationships with health systems in assigned markets.
Provide consultation, direction, and support through learning cohorts to identify strategies for improving outcomes. Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders and volunteers. Facilitate learning cohort meetings in coordination with volunteers and staff partners.
Works closely with designated market team to develop program implementation strategies in alignment with initiative objectives. Serve as point person for ongoing resources needed by hospitals and clinics to sustain knowledge (via online education, articles, etc.). In coordination with staff partners and volunteers, establish sustainability plan for all components of initiative.
Develop clinical decision support tools and work collaboratively with clinicians to implement systematic efforts in improving care. Work with inpatient and outpatient clinical care teams to address barriers to guideline adoption and enhance clinical workflows for improved patient outcomes. Works with health system participants to assess and establishing health system multidisciplinary teams.
Communicate regularly with Project Director to assure tasks are completed according to grant timeline. Work with cross-functional teams to build buy-in and ensure grant deliverables are met.
Manage project documents, including budgets, timelines, and reports on status for internal and external audiences.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience.
Five (5) years of relevant experience.
Experience with account management and negotiation skills.
Experience in healthcare or in a public health-related organization: clinical, quality improvement, program development and systems improvement.
Experience building and managing relationships with external alliances or partners and key volunteers in hospital or clinical settings.
Proficiency in project management including management of budgets, timelines, activity plans and communication with team members and stakeholders.
Skilled in working with clinical audiences to impact change management related to patient outcomes.
Experience identifying and building relationships with key volunteers in hospital or clinical settings.
Ability to interact and engage with C-Suite and/or clinical leaderships ideally in hospital or outpatient clinic settings.
Ability to work independently and effectively manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in a team environment and interact with all levels of American Heart Association staff, volunteers and the public.
Excellent English verbal, written, and presentation communications skills.
Ability to travel up to 20% local and overnight stay.

In this position, responsibilities include advising and collaborating with internal staff, corporations, and community leaders to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and fundraising efforts for the Houston Go Red for Women campaign. Accountable for revenue generation and community development activities as well as handling top corporate accounts, securing cause sponsorships, identifying and recruiting volunteer leadership, recruiting Executive Leadership Teams, and holding others accountable to the team fundraising goals and objectives. This position requires a self-starter who functions independently with minimal direction and will lead and supervise assigned staff. The 2025 fundraising goal for this campaign is $1.5M, with growth to $3M by 2027.
This is an office-based position that offers a hybrid schedule. We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities
Some of the responsibilities include:
Work with VP, Development for Houston to implement the plan of year over year revenue growth through mission impact opportunities, strategic market partnerships and philanthropic donors.
Build strong volunteer leadership relationships through active stewardship and cultivation to accomplish results. Including recruitment and management of event chairs.
Create a course of action to accomplish fundraising and health goals in support of the mission.
Create relationships with C-suite/executive volunteers and responsible for managing the Executive Leadership Team for Go Red for Women.
Lead campaign development staff in the identification, cultivation and recruitment of C-suite and executive management volunteers with a focus on Fortune 1000 companies and top employers.
Sustain existing, and build new, corporate and community partnerships, and partnerships with affluent individual donors and foundations.
Cultivate major donors, securing large corporate sponsorships, and identifying and securing foundation gifts.
Apply standard process policies and follow American Heart Association procedure guidelines. Ensure the campaign team is also following expectations.
Participating in and leading top-level cultivation strategies and engagements.
Lead and coach a team of fundraisers and support staff. Recruit, interview, hire, orient, and train potential new hires.
Regular communication with team to review the status of goals, both individual and campaign, and recommend changes or approaches that will enhance the efficiency of the Go Red campaign.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
5 years successful experience in non-profit fundraising or similar experience.
3 years of managerial experience, ideally with a sales or fundraising team in a similar organization.
Experience managing and cultivating high-level leaders at the C-suite level.
Direct knowledge of special event fundraising tactics is crucial.
Ability to travel the Houston area daily; always requires access to reliable transportation on an immediate basis.
Understanding of how to engage and work within philanthropic communities.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving.
