Internship Overview:
Time Commitment: 20-25 hours per week
Internship Duration: 9/9/24 - 12/6/24
Location: Intern must be located in Louisville, Lexington, or the Northern Kentucky area

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the State GRD of Field Advocacy, for insert, the Intern will support the State Advocacy & Engagement Committees ( SAEC ), along with other staff priorities, advocating for the Association's state and local priorities tasks could include:
Assist with building capacity with the SAECs and various coalitions.
Support the creation of project management tools/systems to manage multiple projects.
Encourage, educate, and empower ( 3Es ) advocacy volunteers.
Attend key functions/events/meetings as directed and available.
Aid with researching key issues and assessing environment for policy potentials.
Qualifications
Advanced undergraduate course work in Political Science, Public Policy, Sociology, Organizational Development, or interest in this work and related fields.
Ability to deal professionally in a corporate, public, or non-profit environment and assume responsibility for guiding projects and programs from inception through completion.
Effective oral, written and presentation communication skills.
Capability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment managing multiple priorities.
Intermediate to excellent proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
Required Equipment: Reliable WiFi Connection.
Minimum availability of 20 hrs/wk, M-F between the hours of 8:30am-5pm.
Must be legally authorized to work in the United States for any employer without sponsorship, now or in the future. For any roles working remotely, the work must also be performed inside the United States, not in a foreign country.

We are currently hiring a Development Director in the Capital Region Harrisburg, PA . The Director will generate revenue for our socials fundraising campaigns. The campaign includes our signature Heart of Capital Regional Heart Ball and Go Red for Women Luncheon & Auction event.
We have a fast-paced sales type of environment with the main responsibility of driving revenue in support of our mission. We offer a base salary with the potential to earn an incentive up to 25% of your base pay. The potential incentive is based on achieving certain revenue targets and triggers.

Responsibilities
The Development Director is responsible for achieving revenue generation goals by using established American Heart Association best practices. Ensures appropriate volunteer leadership is recruited and developed. This will include solicitation of large dollar and multi-year corporate sponsorships, individual donor cultivation, and chair recruitment, volunteer committee recruitment, auction procurement of multiple events throughout the year.
The Director will be held accountable to an overall ambitious fundraising goal to advance the American Heart Association's Mission. Implements high quality events in accordance with American Heart Association's standards and in collaboration with team.
The main accountability of the Development Director is to drive revenue for the mission of the American Heart Association.
Generate revenue by prospecting and securing local corporate sponsorship and individual donations. Achieve revenue goals by building and maintaining relationships with corporate partners and donors.
Build and maintain a pipeline of prospective corporate sponsors and donors by conducting research that matches to the campaign goals and the Association's mission.
Develop and present proposals and accompanying materials to secure revenue and volunteer engagement.
Recruit and be responsible for executive volunteer leadership, volunteer committees, and day-of-the-event volunteers.
Coordinate the event auction including leading a committee of volunteers to solicit auction items and prepare packages that will raise funds.
Lead and engage new individual membership for our Cor Vitae giving society, in partnership with other appropriate fundraising staff. Includes planning and implementing regular engagement events for members.
Plan and implement events in collaboration with internal and external partners.
Work with a Communications Director to support and promote campaign communication plans.
Qualifications

Ability to do daily local travel up to 75%; requires access to reliable transportation at all times.
Knowledge of community organization, sales, fundraising, and marketing principles, practices, techniques, and trends.
Shown verbal and written communication skills, including large and small group presentations, group facilitation, and training. Skill in written communications to include clear and concise narrative reports, evaluations, and similar narrative pieces.
Ability to lift and/or move large objects (such as boxes) with the expectation that heavier items would be broken down into smaller components or requesting additional assistance may be required before lifting and/or moving
Must have at least basic knowledge and skill/proficiency with Microsoft Office

Responsibilities
This individual will be responsible for administering and organizing various types of projects within the Mission: Lifeline Stroke team. Responsibilities include working with Program Consultants on project deliverables such as grant agreement execution, payments, and tracking overall project status. Responsibilities
Serve as an HR Business Partner to assigned leaders and their teams, providing outstanding service and support.
Foster a culture of growth and engagement within teams by implementing continuous and personalized strategies for assessing, promoting, acknowledging, communicating, and developing talent, as well as establishing a robust bench and succession plan.
Act as a resource and guide for employees throughout their career with the American Heart Association, from onboarding to offboarding.
Provide performance management guidance, including employee coaching, disciplinary action, and performance reviews.
Support and drive regional diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion initiatives.
Drive compensation planning administration using HRIS and sophisticated Excel tools.
Build and conduct effective meeting agendas and webinar sessions addressing HR/compliance, compensation, leadership, and cultural learning.
Ensure consistent communication and application of the Association's policies, practices, and programs across the region.
Handle and resolve employee relations matters, providing consultation and guidance to leaders and employees.
Conduct climate/engagement surveys, stay and exit interviews to assess the employee experience and recommend solutions to build morale, improve engagement, and strengthen employee retention.
Use data to identify trends and collaborate with business leaders to develop solutions and strategies to address root causes.
Other projects and duties as requested.
Qualifications

University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
5 years' of relevant experience as a human resources business partner with a focus on employee relations, including at least 2 years' experience providing employee and leadership coaching. Having progressive HR experience, including HR business partnering and employee relations, is preferred.
Familiarity with current labor laws and legislation.
Proven track record to efficiently implement HR strategies and initiatives.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and formulate effective solutions.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
Willing to travel periodically in the region up to 25% and overnight 10.

Act as a resource and guide for employees throughout their career with the American Heart Association, from onboarding to offboarding.
Provide performance management guidance, including employee coaching, disciplinary action, and performance reviews.
Support and drive regional diversity, equity, belonging, and inclusion initiatives.
Drive compensation planning administration using HRIS and sophisticated Excel tools.
Build and conduct effective meeting agendas and webinar sessions addressing HR/compliance, compensation, leadership, and cultural learning.
Ensure consistent communication and application of the Association's policies, practices, and programs across the region.
Handle and resolve employee relations matters, providing consultation and guidance to leaders and employees.
Conduct climate/engagement surveys, stay and exit interviews to assess the employee experience and recommend solutions to build morale, improve engagement, and strengthen employee retention.
Use data to identify trends and collaborate with business leaders to develop solutions and strategies to address root causes.

Qualifications

University/College degree or equivalent experience, preferred. Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience, preferred.
5 years' of relevant experience as a human resources business partner with a focus on employee relations, including at least 2 years' experience providing employee and leadership coaching. Having progressive HR experience, including HR business partnering and employee relations, is preferred.
Familiarity with current labor laws and legislation.
Proven track record to efficiently implement HR strategies and initiatives.
Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
Advanced proficiency in HRIS systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and formulate effective solutions.
HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) preferred.
Willing to travel periodically in the region up to 25% and overnight 10.

As a Marketing Manager , you'll wield your expertise to craft and execute dynamic marketing and communications strategies, propelling our organization's products and services to new heights in the market. Responsibilities
Research, write and design targeted pitch decks and marketing communications materials that highlight the organization's products/brands/services to an array of audiences
Work with internal partners to build and implement strategic marketing and communications strategies and deliverables that enhance the organization's relations with sponsors, the public, government and regulatory authorities, stakeholders, volunteers, donors, and employees
Work closely with cross-functional teams to support revenue goals by creating appropriate materials and presentations
Coordinate and disseminate communications to reach defined audiences and meet specific program objectives
Monitor trends to keep informed of developments in relevant fields. Use this information to help internal clients creatively achieve their goals
Lead multiple projects by managing time effectively, prioritizing work assignments, being flexible to changing requests, and ensuring deadlines are being met
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
At least 3 years of experience in marketing, marketing communications, or public relations
Solid understanding of strategic communication planning and implementation, pitch deck development, email and digital campaign creation
Proven experience developing value proposition and B2B messaging and presentations
Experience with AP Style writing and editing for a variety of audiences/platforms
Excellent computer skills, including experience in Microsoft 365
Possession of creative flair, conceptual/visual ability, and originality
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively present to executives and volunteers, and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, while demonstrating excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to travel 15% or less when needed to attend events and conferences
Compensation & Benefits
The expected pay range will be $65,000 to $85,000. Pay is commensurate with experience; geographic differentials to the pay range may apply. The American Heart Association reserves the right to pay more or
