The Tax Advisory Manager will report to the Tax Advisory Senior Director and will be responsible for assisting with Amentum's tax research, planning, controversy, M&A, transfer pricing, and other special projects. This individual contributor role will be instrumental in furthering Amentum's best-in-class tax function and is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys working in an extremely dynamic, diverse, and fast-paced environment. US Citizenship is required. This is a remote-telework role. Light travel to our headquarters in Chantilly, Virginia is required.
Main responsibilities:
Perform tax research and assist with tax planning and modeling projects, including research and development tax credit opportunities as well as indirect / value-added tax (-VAT-) structuring
Support business development activities, including researching applicability of tax exemptions available to Amentum under bilateral defense-type agreements, such as Status of Forces Agreements (-SOFA-)
Assist with managing Amentum's global transfer pricing, including strategy/planning, operations, compliance, and risk management and collaborate with compliance management
Manage and Maintain, Master File, Local File Templates, benchmarking, and intercompany agreements, etc.
Assist with tax audits in US federal, state, and foreign jurisdictions (direct and indirect tax), including gathering and validating data for audit requests, drafting audit responses, etc.
Monitor and analyze federal, state, and foreign legislative, regulatory, and judicial developments
Work with and provide tax support to internal stakeholders, including Legal, Business Development, Contracts, and Treasury teams
Assist with documenting key tax positions, risks, and intercompany agreements
Main requirements:
4+ years of experience with a CPA and JD/Masters in a relevant field; or 6+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree and a CPA; or 8+ years of experience with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
Strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills
Highly organized with the ability to efficiently and accurately manage competing priorities and internal and external deadlines
Positive attitude and dependable team player with strong attention to detail

Provide input to overall procurement strategy and support the development of new capable suppliers. Monitors performance to procurement goals and objectives and identify opportunities for improvement.
Performs supplier evaluation and selection for critical and complex procurement requirements.
Negotiates and settles disputes with suppliers related to poor performance, late deliveries, invoicing issues, and non-compliance with DI terms and conditions.
Provides pricing in support of Business Development or proposal efforts as required.
Participates in continuous improvement projects and mentor Buyers and Associate Buyers.
Trains buyers on company procurement policies and procedures.
Interfaces with Procurement leadership. to provide status, input, and communicates with other departments.
Responsible for compliance of procurement procedures in maintaining an approved Purchasing System.
