Maintenance Mechanic - Amentum

Job Description

Ensuring your personal safety, the safety of coworkers and customers is an obligation and primary duty. Supports the Maintenance Services Group repairing machinery and mechanical equipment.

Hourly Rate: $33.35

Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshooting, examination of machines and mechanical equipment to diagnose anomalies

  • Dismantling machines, as required to diagnose and repair, or adjust, will involve the use of hand tools

  • Preparing written specifications for major repairs, repair parts, or for production of required items

  • Acquisition of replacement parts from OEM, or OEM approved entity, or manufacturer in machine shop to which specifications have been provided

  • Reassembling machines and adjusting as required to ensure proper operation

  • Mechanical requirements at LaRC largely involve reciprocating and centrifugal pumps and compressors

U.S. Citizenship required. Valid driver's license is required. Six years of experience or any equivalent combination of experience and training in a designated field, craft, or trade that can be documented by a certificate or diploma from a reputable organization, school, or trade program. Must be able to effectively communicate well with others. CMOE Maintenance employees will exercise diligence when developing a Safe Plan of Action (SPA) for each task performed. Your SPA is a Company provided resource to be used for the prevention of incidents, accidents, and injuries: as such, it is the most important resource you are required to use.

Essential Functions

Work Environment:

Mechanical Shop environment and equipment rooms - potential exposure to areas of high noise levels, hazardous propellants, explosives, chemicals, and industrial facilities. Many areas where work is required may bring exposure to loud noise and potentially hazardous equipment operation and environment (90%). All safety rules and regulations must always be followed without exception.

Travel between shop and various facilities is required (<10%)

Physical Requirements:

Visual and physical (hands on) contact of mechanical related systems, hardware, articles (50%). Must be able to walk, stand, bend, twist and sit for extended periods as well as climb, crawl, and lift up to 35 lbs. (20%), body mobility (60%) and ability (where applicable) to distinguish colors. Appropriate PPE and training will be provided for all conditions.

Equipment and Machines:

Repair and overhaul a variety of large industrial pumps, valves, gear boxes, cooling towers, hydraulics, air handlers, exhaust fans and other mechanical equipment (90%)

Standard office equipment - PC, telephone, fax, copier, etc. (10%)

Safety and personal protective equipment (PPE) (10%)

Attendance :

Regular attendance is mandatory (100%)

Overtime/work outside normal schedule required (20%)

Other Essential Functions:

U.S. Citizenship required. Valid driver's license is required. Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Your Impact: This position will support the United States Central Command J2 Directorate through the analysis of All Source intelligence. Your fused analysis and assessment will be vital to the decision making of senior leaders to include the CENTCOM Commander. You will witness the impact of your analysis indirectly on the battlefield and through strategic decisions made by our leaders throughout the Intelligence Community.

Responsibilities: The employee is responsible for conducting all-source Intelligence analysis and producing intelligence products in support of global missions and customers. The analyst applies ODNI analytic tradecraft standards to conduct research using a variety of databases and toolsets, compile and analyze complex data, and develop assessments in support of the team's mission. The employee shall provide personnel with skills and knowledge to support the Joint Intelligence Center, to include, in some cases, 24/7 shift work for situational awareness and warning. Contractor personnel shall have and maintain the ability to conduct all-source analysis of the USCENTCOM AOR and USCENTCOM Areas of Interest (AOI) (as defined by the Unified Command Plan). All-Source contract personnel shall have and maintain the ability to gather and analyze information, and provide recommendations necessary for the Government to produce, disseminate, and apply intelligence products in the following subject areas; Analysis,

Production, Application and Dissemination - Current and Term, Daily Production, Graphics and Visual Information, Write for Release, Current Intelligence Support, Political/Military, Terrorism, Cyberspace, Human Terrain/Socio-Cultural, Geospatial Intelligence, Weapons of Mass Destruction, Energy/Environmental, Ballistic Missiles, Compromise Mitigation Support, Open-Source, Order of Battle, Target Intelligence Analysis, Target Materials Analysis, and Target Discovery and Network/Systems.

Here's What You'll Need:

- Active TS/SCI clearance with eligibility to obtain a polygraph

The full spectrum of training includes but is not limited to: classroom (platform and small group) training; hands-on/practical exercise training; role playing; simulation/virtual training; and field exercise training. Training may be for resident and non-resident training courses and in support of mobile training.

Shall also participate as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in developing revisions of the POIs, Lesson Plans and Training Support Packages (TSPs) to remedy any deficiencies or shortcomings identified during the preparation for and conduct of instruction. Conduct of instruction shall also be in support of specialized training requirements or the training of new systems.

REQUIRED

  • Must have 6 years of operational experience as a Tactical Intelligence Officer (35D), All Source Intelligence Analyst (35F) Senior Non-Commissiond Officer (SFC or above), All Source Intelligence Technician (350F) Senior Warrant Officer (CW3 or above) , or Civilian within the MI branch or an equivalent speciality in another branch of service or other U.S. Government agency in support of authorized intelligence activities as defined by AR 381-10 within the last ten years.

  • Must be a graduate of one of the following MI Branch courses: ILE, Captains Career Course, NCO Senior Leaders Course (SLC), or Advanced Warrant Officer Course. An alternative educational course within another branch of service or other US Government agency may be considered for substitution of the listed MI Branch courses, if the government determines the course to be equivalent to one of the required MI Branch courses in all aspects of tactical and strategic intelligence curricula and/or instruction.

  • Bachelor's Degree. Four years of additional experience may be substituted, provided experience directly related to the position description.

  • Minimum of an Interim Top Secret or final Top Secret/SCI clearance required.

  • Experience working on the most recent automation tools and systems applicable to All Source intelligence operations.

PREFERRED

  • Previously completed Common Faculty Development Program - Instructor Course (CFDP-IC) and Small Group Instructor Training Course (SGITC) or DOD/Service equivalent program certifications.

  • If instructor applicant does not possess these qualifications, the applicant must be able to pass the requisite USAICoE-provided courses on the first iteration of classes made available by the government and maintain such certifications throughout duration of employment.

  • Instructor Certification requirements as specified in TRADOC Regulation (TR) 350-70 and AETCI 36-2202 and as supplemented in local regulatory policies.

Produces products tailored to audiences for use by staff and senior leaders. Performs in a team environment to provide media monitoring of the information environment, data science, quantitative/qualitative analysis, and assessment support.

JOURNEYMAN: A Journeyman labor category has 3 to 10 years of experience and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree. A Journeyman labor category typically performs all functional duties independently.

CLEARANCE REQUIREMENT: TS/SCI

Physical Requirements of Position: Position will require heavy use of computing systems, PC or laptop. Phone use, Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position requires typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May require climbing, working at heights and in small spaces. Must be able to sit, stoop, kneel or crouch for long periods of time. Work in noisy areas with hotter and colder temperature than standard office environmental conditions. Lift and transport equipment up to 50 pounds There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. May require travel to other sites.

Work Environment: Generally an office. An inside environment may be a cubicle (considerations: close quarters, low to moderate noise, bright or dim lighting). Needs to be able to work well with co-workers, customer, and all levels of management. No hazards on job or unusual environmental conditions. Limited travel will be required, up to 10% of the time.

Responsibilities:

The successful candidate will join a team to support maintenance activities at NASA LaRC. This work will include identification of repeated causes of failure in support of root cause failure analysis and equipment lifecycle assessments (to include nameplate data verification and failure reporting), as well as mechanical equipment/system field verification. Shall follow safety policies and procedures and perform all work according to existing policies and procedures while maintaining a high standard of quality and workmanship in performing the duties. JOURNEYMAN: A Journeyman labor category has 3 to 10 years of experience and a BA/BS or MA/MS degree. A Journeyman labor category typically performs all functional duties independently.

Physical Requirements of Position: Position will require heavy use of computing systems, PC or laptop. Phone use, Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position requires typing, and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility, included but not limited to: bending, reaching, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner.
