The USMC MQ-9 CLS Mechanic is a highly qualified and skilled aircraft/composite mechanic with experience in structures, hydraulics, engines and avionics using diagrams, blueprints, and publications. The mechanic will directly support the USMC MQ-9 Site Manager while at the same time being available to support hands-on maintenance and leadership/training on an as needed basis.
Position is eligible for a sign on bonus.
Essential Responsibilities:
Inspect and repair power plant malfunctions, including cracked components, oil leaks, etc.
Diagnose malfunctions, isolate causes, and correct breaks.
Test engine operations, use test equipment to locate source of malfunction(s).
Replace/repair damaged components and remove engine/major components from aircraft, using hoist or other lifting devices.
Disassemble and inspect parts for wear, warping, or other defects.
Repair/replace defective engine components and reassemble and install engines in aircraft.
Adjust, repair, or replace instruments, ADP flight controls, electrical/electronics, fuel/oil systems and associated aircraft accessories.
Perform aircraft services to include engine flushing/cleaning, parts lubrication, and required maintenance checks.
May specialize in repair and modification of engines, structural components, precision repair, functional spare parts, and assemblies.
Recommend revisions to maintenance procedures to improve efficiency and ensure quality workmanship.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must have at least an active Secret US Government clearance with ability to obtain Top-Secret. Note: US Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.
Must have High School Diploma or have completed relevant military and/or vocational technical school curriculum.
Minimum of five years of actual Aircraft Mechanic maintenance experience required.
Minimum of two years' experience on MQ-9 aircraft, as Aircraft Mechanic.
Must have advanced knowledge of basic and complex mechanical maintenance and repair.
Must possess advanced knowledge of technical publications related to aircraft mechanical maintenance.
Comprehensive knowledge of aircraft mechanical component troubleshooting/repair procedures and replacement of components, a thorough knowledge of aircraft sheet metal/structural modification and repair and the ability to determine functionality of non-complex electrical systems.
Must know theory and principles of operation of engines, accessories and components, theory of flight and electronic flight controls, and have an advanced understanding of applicable systems.
Shall have been designated a CDI or Red-X inspector for their applicable specific T/M/S UAS aircraft or equipment employed to inspect.
Shall have previous CDI, CDQAR, Organizational Maintenance experience.
Must be able to inspect and operate ground support and auxiliary equipment.
Must have knowledge of CNAFINST 4790.2 NAMP and DAFI 21-101.
Must achieve a passing grade in all required courses/certifications for continued employment, as needed.
Must be able to lift, carry and/or wear Military Issued Equipment in excess of 50 pounds for extended periods.
Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand English.
Must have current/active State Issued Driver's License.
Must be able to acquire and maintain a valid flight-line Government Driver's License.
Preferred Qualifications:
Top-Secret clearance.
Associate degree in a relevant career field.
Licensed by the FAA as an Airframe and Powerplant Mechanic.
Aircraft Mechanic experience within the last 10 years.
Prior experience as a Defense Contractor.
MQ-9 Aircraft Composite Repair / Replacement Experience.
NDI Qualified.

The USMC MQ-9 CLS Technician is a highly qualified and skilled aircraft electronics and Ground Support Station technician with experience in troubleshooting multiple electronics systems both aircraft and control stations. Work may be reviewed by supervisor for general compliance with accepted practices. This position may provide technical guidance to lower-level technicians.

Essential Responsibilities:
Must maintain assigned UAS aircraft electrical generators, load banks, starters, relays, batteries, actuators, circuit breakers, switches, and aircraft instruments.
Must apply advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems that typically cannot be solved solely by referencing manufacturers' manuals or similar documents. The Consolidated Operations, Management, Engineering and Test (COMET) contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.
Work as an Animal Care Technician supporting the COMET contract on the Kennedy Space Center. The Animal Care team provides support to research science teams for pre-flight, during-flight and post-flight ground support capabilities and services.
Operates and maintains the KSC Animal Care Program in accordance with the requirements to maintain AAALAC International accreditation. Supports and maintains 100,000 class clean room barrier facility.
- Supports the preparation of animal husbandry equipment and supplies including sanitation and sterilization of all items. Processes bags and/or boxes or animal feed, bedding material, supplies, and equipment. Prepares and feeds regular and/or special diets and sterile deionized water. Includes quality control activities such as maintaining logs and providing samples of sterile feed and water.
- Assists in flight preparation including reviewing payload customer requirements, procuring standard supplies, and ordering specialty animal care equipment.
- Provides professional and technical guidance and support to payload customers. Maintains equipment certifications and calibration.
- Support customer access to the facility and assist in refining activities.
- Operates cage rack washer, bottle washer, sterilizer, and other facility related equipment. Performs routine maintenance of equipment as per manufacturer's recommendations.
- Prepare supplies and equipment required in support of research missions.
- Handles animals in conjunction with relocating, cage change, feeding, watering, identifying, performing health checks, data collection, SPF sample collection, blood draw, injections and/or administering of medications. Maintains daily health check log.
- Responsible for procurements of supplies and inventory for missions and facility maintenance.

The Aircraft Worker makes repairs to aircraft following orders of higher grade technicians, they assist in troubleshooting malfunctions in aircraft structure, landing gear, flight surfaces and controls, anti-icing, pneudraulic, engines, auxiliary power unit, and ventilation and heating systems. This worker repairs, replaces, and rebuilds aircraft structures, such as wings and fuselage, and functional components including rigging, surface controls, and plumbing and hydraulic units, using hand tools, power tools, machines, and equipment such as shears, sheet metal brake, welding equipment, rivet gun, and drills. This worker reads and interprets manufacturers' and airline's maintenance manuals, service bulletins, technical data, engineering data, and other specifications to determine feasibility and method of repairing or replacing malfunctioning or damaged components. Work involves: replacing or repairing worn or damaged components, such as carburetors, alternators, magnetos, fuel controls, fuel pumps, oil pumps, and engine mounted gearboxes, and compressor bleed valves using hand tools, gauges, and testing equipment; removing engine from aircraft, using hoist or forklift truck, disassembling and inspecting parts for wear, cracks, security, or other defects, and repairing or replacing defective engine parts and reassembles and installs engine in aircraft. Job duties require that this mechanic: adjusts, repairs, or replaces electrical wiring system and aircraft accessories, performs preflight, thru-flight, and post-flight maintenance inspections, performs miscellaneous duties to service aircraft, including flushing crankcase, cleaning screens and filters, greasing moving parts, and checking brakes. This incumbent supervises the jacking and towing of aircraft, enters in the maintenance records description of the work performed and verifies the work was performed satisfactorily, may service engines and airframe components at line station making repairs, short of overhaul, required to keep aircraft in safe operating condition, may specialize in work, repair and modification of structural, precision, and functional spare parts and assemblies, and may specialize in engine repair. This worker may be required to be licensed by Federal Aviation Administration.
Will be required to pass and maintain a U.S. Government background security check as well as favorable fingerprints in EQIP. May be required to complete a SF-85/86 in EQIP as required to maintain possession of a CAC card. Unfavorable background check may result in termination if determination is made you are not eligible for a CAC card.

Responsibilities:
Records and file management
Employee in- and out-processing
Assist in managing DOD, DSS, and local office policies and programs.
Support the field office chief in scheduling.
Correspondence drafting and routing
Travel planning (Defense Travel System [DTS] or MyTravel)
Conference room coordination
Office equipment and supply inventory maintenance
Government timecard program (DAI) management
Receipt and routing of office mail/correspondence
Management of task management (CATMS) system
Assist in execution of office training program.
Responsible for inputting and managing data bases as directed.
Some locations may require local travel.

Requirements:
Active Secret clearance required.
