Analyst Rotation Program:
Our Analyst Rotation Program (ARP) provides experience in a variety of roles at CarMax giving ample opportunity for recent grads to develop skills in analytics, strategy, communication & influence. Business Analysts get firsthand experience solving unique and complex problems and significantly contribute to company performance right from the start.
ARP is a 2-year program, providing three 8-month rotations with teams across the CarMax analyst community
Analysts in ARP start together as a cohort and share experiences through the duration of the program
The program seeks to maximize professional development and career growth providing diverse experiences, interactions with leaders across the org, formal training & teambuilding
Analysts in ARP have input to roles they will take while in the program and upon graduation

This is a high-energy retail sales environment where you will work as a team to meet goals and handle a wide range of customer interactions. To make sure everything goes smoothly, the ability to quickly build rapport with people and understand their needs is essential. General Summary:
The Buyer-in-Training (BIT) position is the required entry-level position into CarMax's Merchandising department. Under general supervision, BITs are responsible for acquiring and managing CarMax's extensive used car inventory through the successful completion of Customer appraisal assessments
and appraisal offers, coordinating on-site Wholesale Auctions, and attending various regional auctions as assigned. BITs will spend approximately 4-6 months completing a comprehensive training program under the supervision of a Manager that educates them on vehicle basics, market analytics, and
offsite behaviors.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities:
Ability to independently evaluate and negotiate current market prices, understand and assess vehicle damage and subsequent costs involved, and make financially sound purchasing and pricing decisions for the company through customer assessments and offers, offsite auctions, or
online venues.
Conduct vehicle appraisal offers, coordinate on-site Wholesale Auctions, and attend offsite auctions as assigned.
Conduct accurate vehicle condition assessments by collecting, recording, and communicating all required information.
Deliver exceptional customer service and work with other departments to create Iconic Customer experiences.
Support the execution and sustainment of new store procedures, processes, and technology platforms.
Utilize technology to effectively collaborate with team members at other locations.
Execute initiatives and fundamentals, including Offer Role and Offsite.
Successfully complete the Buyer-in-Training program.

Peer leader to Business Office Associates, responsible for processing and auditing paperwork associated with sales, leading self and others through daily business requirements, cash management, and providing exceptional customer service.
What you will do:
Mentors Business Office Associates, assisting them with development and training
Assists store personnel and all store departments in their daily functions while adhering to CarMax guidelines
Participates in the rotation of the -Manager on Duty- role - responsible for delegating and directing the business office work flow, answering questions related to transactions, handling customer issues/concerns and following up on delegated business office work tasks
Delegates and follows up on various Business Office tasks
Provides customer service by listening, answering customer questions and explaining paperwork process
Processes paperwork associated with retail automobile sales including printing daily reports, maintaining deal jackets, contacting finance companies regarding contracts, obtaining required information regarding registration and titling, and auditing completed paperwork
Processes paperwork associated with an appraisal lane purchase including title collection calls and follow up, obtaining proper paperwork and signatures from customers and sending appropriate documentation to Corporate for funding of drafts
Manages cash including receiving and counting money, distributing funds, preparing deposits and handling of the safe with considerations to security
Processes paperwork affiliated with the state DMV. This includes submitting paperwork necessary to title and register a vehicle for a customer after the sale
Clerical responsibilities including copying, filing and answering phones
May assist in hiring process by attending job fairs and performing interviews in partnership with a manager
Qualifications:
Work requires ability to:
Create and maintain a positive work environment
Perform supervisory tasks (preferred experience: 3 years of customer facing work; 1 year of supervisory work)

Read, interpret and transcribe data in order to maintain accurate records

Lift objects that weigh as much as 15-20 lbs
Speak and listen effectively in dealing with internal and external customers in person and over the phone
Complete CarMax provided training on the functional areas of the Business Office, allowing for cross-training and full coverage of Business Office

What you will do - Essential responsibilities
Conduct accurate vehicle condition assessments by collecting, recording, and communicating all required information about customer appraisals for a Buyer's analysis
Perform accurate optioning of customer appraisals and vehicles in CarMax inventory
Capture quality and timely photographs of inventory for CarMax.com
Assist Purchasing Department with maintaining inventory and executing customer transfers
Partner with Inventory and Sales Department to conduct lot merchandising as needed
Assist with onsite auctions as necessary

A valid driver's license is required
