With general direction, creates water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities, etc. engineering designs to meet client project requirements.

Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and signs off on completed designs.

Ensures that firm policies and practices are followed on all designs.

Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications.

Updates design requirements as necessary.

Performs water quality analyses and modeling.

Contributes to firm's TKM by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc.

Submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.

Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposal (RFPs).

Reviews draft proposals for adherence to firm, industry, state, local and federal regulations and best practices.

Meets with current and potential future clients to review their current and future design needs.

Attends conferences, symposia, etc. to improve the visibility of the firm's products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.

Performs other duties as required.

Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff.

Mentors more junior staff and develops them for future growth within the discipline and firm.

May supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.

Professional engineering (PE) license.

CDM Smith currently has a strategic opportunity for a Environmental Services Business Leader to lead and build our environmental services practice in the Pacific Region*. In this role, you will work with a dynamic team to continue building CDM Smith's sales of environmental services to State, City and local clients in the region. Our environmental practice encompasses many service offerings, including remedial investigations and design, remediation, natural resources including NEPA and NRDA, environmental compliance, air quality, solid waste, climate resiliency and sustainability along with our rapidly growing practice of emerging contaminants/PFAS. Our leadership in these areas is aided by our team of leading technical experts along with our environmental R&D laboratories. In this role, you will lead the development of a business strategy to increase sales of CDM Smith's environmental services with our existing clients and developing new clients in this sector. This position leads all business development activities, oversees overall client service, represents CDM Smith as part of environmental associations or organizations.

*Our Pacific Region covers the states of: WA, OR, CA, AZ, NV, and ID.

Job Description:

CDM Smith is seeking a Corporate Compliance Specialist to join our Corporate Compliance Team. This individual performs moderate to highly complex compliance and ethics functions under general supervision for assigned area including compliance training. Administers databases related to ethics and compliance tracking.

-\tPerforms moderate to highly complex compliance and ethics functions under general supervision (Ex: investigations; third party due diligence; training; etc.) for assigned area. Partners with internal clients and external vendors to assist with maintenance.

-\tAdministers databases related to legal ethics and compliance function for tracking compliance related initiatives.

-\tRecommends improvements and changes to the firm's policies and procedures to meet compliance requirements. Collaborates with clients to develop positive and proactive approaches to corporate compliance.

-\tAssists with the investigation of complaints, as needed. Supports annual Corporate Compliance and Ethics month.

-\tMentors and checks the work of more junior staff, as requested.

-\tPerforms other duties as required.

This role offers a hybrid work option with the individual required to be in the office at least 2 days a week.

Minimum Qualifications:

-\tBachelor's Degree.

-\t5 years of related experience.

-\tEquivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

Preferred Qualifications:

-\tCertified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP) preferred.

-\tExperience with Corporate Compliance (Department of Justice Hallmarks of an Effective Compliance program)

Background Check and Drug Testing Information:

CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as -CDM Smith-) reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. Additional Compensation:

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
