WHAT YOU'LL DO

As a Restaurant Associate Manager, you'll combine your passion for people and restaurant management skills to deliver excellent guest and employee experiences while driving business results. They say variety is the spice of life, and we agree! Our Restaurant Associate Managers are people leaders and execute all store operations including front- and back-of-house responsibilities. With home office support available to you on a 24/7 basis, you'll have everything you need to succeed.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • 2+ years of successful restaurant management experience

  • Ability and willingness to work 50 hours a week (five 10-hour shifts)

  • Ability and willingness to work holidays and weekends as needed

  • A caring attitude with a dedication to hospitality

  • Valid driver's license

Provides support to Regional Facility Service Managers (RFSMs) during the planning and execution of facility capital projects and equipment replacements for Cracker Barrel Old Country Store and Maple Street Biscuit Company.Assists Facility Services Team by coordinating and completing the tasks associated with remodels and projects, regional preventive maintenance program, and quarterly reviews. Provides direct support to store management for all locations concerning warranties and maintenance issues relating to building, site, and equipment and crisis/natural disaster situations.

Create purchase orders and follow up status of procurement of goods and services. Communicates schedule to store leadership, vendors, national project managers and project managers. Supports store operations for all units by initiating and coordinating the resolution of site, building, and equipment warranty, maintenance, and crisis issues. Research facts and analyzes information to determine urgency of situation and appropriate course of action. Contacts general contractor/ service agents, or sources independent agencies to coordinate service and/or equipment, building or site repair. Follows up to ensure issues are resolved in a timely manner. Assists the Facility Services Project Manager with projects by inviting and processing vendor/contractor bids, ordering equipment, scheduling delivery and services, and ensuring materials and services requested are rendered in a timely manner. Develops necessary reports to reflect status of regional information. Audits vendor invoices to control store costs and to ensure compliance with contractual terms. Supports projects related to equipment and process rollouts. Drives scheduling and execution of less complex facilities projects. Assists with vendor onboarding and training on billing processes. Reviews and recommends or denies payment for purchases and/or services for the stores while determining warranty or non-warranty issues. Liaise with Accounts Payables and Fixed Assets to ensure creditors are paid. Conducts various projects as assigned. Research and compiles facility services-related information and reports information as requested by other departments (i.e., Risk Management, Finance, Operations, Quality Assurance, Accounting, etc.).

Research issues raised by management. Compiles supporting documentation and prepares reports to substantiate transactions or amounts in questions.

Experience and Education

Responsible for administering company compensation programs, including base pay, short-term incentive plans, and long-term incentive plans.

Review and update job descriptions as requested by department managers. Evaluate and grade jobs using the compensation framework. Market price jobs to develop competitive pay ranges. Partner with department managers to recommend base pay offers, promotional increases, market adjustments, etc. Lead and administer several key compensation processes including annual merit increases, mid-year and ad hoc increases, off-cycle promotion requests, and special adjustment requests. Participate in the planning, analysis, and administration of all base pay wage administration including evaluating and analyzing market survey data, base pay ranges, and the company's competitive position in the market. Lead the administration of the company's online market pricing system. Develop reporting tools to use in the evaluation of the company's pay ranges and market position. Responsible for calculating all field bonus plans calculations. Accurately calculate the bonus plan payments according to the plan documents. Develop tools to use in the calculations and document all processes. Communicate with operations and store leadership to increase the understanding of bonus plans. Calculate and administer the long-term cash incentive plans. Ensure the calculations are accurate according to the plan documents. Communicate to plan participants to improve the understanding of the plan. Assist in the evaluation and analysis of all short and long term incentive plans. Participate in recommending changes to incentive plans. Administer the company's Employee Stock Purchase plan. Partner with the external vendor to accurately execute the purchase of Cracker Barrel stock in accordance with the plan documents. Administer the long-term stock plan grants programs. WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Experience and Education

Prints and issues payroll checks. Assists with training, supervising, and coordinating activities of the Payroll Coordinators.

Processes store hourly payroll, including store opening trainers, in a timely manner. Manually enters and balances all State sick pay hour requests. Researches and audits for accuracy weekly store payroll transmissions; may require manual submission and retrieval of timecards, hours worked, vacation requests, etc. via fax, telephone, and/or mail. Enters various payroll transactions such as addition/deletion of indirect tips, rehires, terminations in error, etc. Researches and resolves payroll discrepancies (i.e. wrong employee numbers, hours charged to wrong stores, job class, rate of pay, deductions, etc.). Balances trial register with store payroll transmittal incorporating all payroll corrections to include sick pay, back pay, vacation, bonus, borrowed manpower, insufficient/excessive tips, etc. Prints and issues checks. Processes and enters all new store hourly personnel new hire paperwork. Maintains store hourly payroll records for W-2s; processes and issues W-2 forms. Orders stop payments on lost checks; verifies check status with bank to ensure that it has not cleared. Faxes lost check affidavit to employee for completion and processes new check. Collaborates with Accounts Payable to reissue forged checks. Reviews and mails checks returned by the stores. Processes 30-day old checks. Processes unclaimed property. Research requests from legal pertaining to wage discrepancy and process back pay after legal approves. Review state tax forms and update as needed Monitors employee active status and contacts manager after four weeks of inactivity to terminate employee, place on leave, or return to work. Collaborate with Compensation & Benefits and Risk Management on disability/leave issues. Researches and resolves employees' payroll questions and assists employees with Paycard issues, working as a liaison between Skylight/Netspend and the employee Answer live calls from the online wage statement line, return calls from messages left on OLWS voice mailbox, answers via email OLWS email box for resetting passwords so that employees can gain access to their wage statements and W-2s. Take messages from the W-2 voice mail box and email box from employees who want to change their address for the purpose of receiving a W-2 by mail, this requires the coordinator to sign into skylight and print off the w-2 and mail it to the employee. Processes Skyposits requests from the coordinators for CA term pay or back pay requests. Trains new payroll coordinators and assists them with issues/questions.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Experience and Education

- High School Diploma and 3-5 years Cracker Barrel payroll experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge and Skills

- Basic knowledge of accounting.

- Strong oral communication skills.

- Strong knowledge of Cracker Barrel payroll systems and departmental operations.

- Strong knowledge of state and federal wage and hour laws, and local, state and federal taxation laws.

  • Systems knowledge and applications and decision support and analysis: Responsible for understanding and utilizing the current system applications to analyze, manipulate and model data efficiently and effectively; Uses financial knowledge and understanding of the business to provide structured processes and analyses; able to recommend value creating strategies and decisions through the intelligent application of well established tools and techniques.

  • Leadership/Development skills / Other: Provide functional and project leadership and development of personnel. Serve as additional resource for all areas of the department; complete ad hoc analyses and reports as requested; provide financial/operational support as requested by management.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

Experience and Education

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Business or Finance.

  • 2+ years of pricing experience.

Certifications

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or MBA certifications preferred.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Excellent oral, written, presentation and time-management skills.

  • Proficient computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (with strong emphasis on Excel and database skills).
