Our Account Executive role is a hybrid field sales position covering the Greenville/Columbia, SC area with a mixture of 2-year and 4-year schools. For time spent in the field with customers we provide a company car. This role provides the opportunity to build relationships and have a high level of customer engagement. We are looking for a sales professional with a background in outside sales, cross selling, upselling, renewals, and longer sales cycles.

Ideal candidates are located near Greenville or Columbia, SC, but we will also consider candidates from the suburban areas

What you'll do here:

Plan for Success

  • Plan, organize, and prioritize sales activities to achieve sales targets.

  • Use database tools to develop and maintain opportunities pipeline for every account in assigned territory.

  • Create and implement strategic plans for opportunities through resource management and internal collaboration.

  • Develop product knowledge and digital skills for sales calls, presentations and delivery of digital courses.

  • Provide support for instructor course set-up and student course access to drive digital activations, and usage.

  • Build itineraries and daily plans that effectively address territory priorities and optimize customer engagement.

Deliver Results

  • Achieve and/or exceed established sales targets by promoting Cengage solutions to all customers.

  • Conduct sales calls with decision makers to identify needs, propose solutions and establish relationships.

  • Represent all product offerings and platforms across disciplines for the territory.

  • Collaborate internally with account partners to implement institutional sales strategies and ensure complete coverage of all Cengage solutions for an account.

  • Use resources and internal sales support for digital customer course builds, training and implementation.

  • Confirm and communicate details with customers on options to access Cengage content in use at each account.

  • Develop relationships with channel partners to coordinate shared delivery of content and gain understanding of campus initiatives.

Manage Your Business

  • Use data to identify priorities for allocation of time and resources.

  • Continue ongoing updates and maintenance of customer database.

  • Handle travel, business and sampling budgets effectively.

  • Provide clear, timely communication and accurate reporting.

  • Exhibit digital proficiency with internal systems and when sharing Cengage solutions.

Skills You'll Need Here:

  • BA/BS or equivalent work experience and a proven, successful track record in a prior sales position is preferred.

  • Values and appreciates diversity of thought; able to work with diverse audiences both internally and externally.

  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change.

  • High energy and good communication skills both written and verbal.

  • Strong presentation skills.

  • Competitive spirit and high business acumen.

  • Ability to travel with some overnight in certain territories and for sales meetings; must be able to travel by both auto and air.

  • Located within assigned sales territory.

Preferred:

  • Direct sales, marketing, or editorial experience

  • Prior ed tech sales experience

  • Proficiency in Salesforce

Summary:

As a member of the Inventory Control department, the primary objective for this position is to ensure the quality of orders going out to our customers. This position is responsible for assisting the Inventory Control Department in the following areas: Perform quality checks on all orders that divert to the QC area, help Resolution with shorts and inventory checks as needed, monitor and count inventory and help with inventory moves and destroys.

This position is a 2nd shift role with hours from 10:00 AM - 6:30 PM EST with overtime when needed.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Perform quality checks on orders Investigate inventory discrepancies

  • Product moves

  • Cycle Count locations

Other tasks required

  • Must be able to safely and consistently lift 50 lbs

  • Must be able to stand and walk for 8-10 hours

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

High School Diploma or GED

Basic Math Skills

  • Skilled in site recognition/matching of numeric and alpha groupings Safety minded

  • Good attendance (No Reminder Letter or Final Warning in last 18 months)

Preferred:

  • Logpro Experience

  • Basic computer skills

  • RF Experience

The Account Development Representative (ADR) a key member of our Strategic Sales team and focuses on prospecting to find new sales lead and then moving qualified leads through into the sales pipeline. This goal of this role is to connect to and expand our customer base through outreach, prospecting, and lead qualification. A successful candidate will be motivated to generate as many leads as possible and determine if those prospects align to our solutions and customer model.

What you'll do here:

  • Partner closely with Sales Consultants to prospect and build relationships with districts leaders while growing our contact list.

  • Assist with sales projects, campaign activities, and other responsibilities as needed.

  • Perform qualification of leads assigned by the Marketing team by connecting with potential customers via phone calls, emails, and web meetings.

  • Optimize sales strategies to meet or exceeds monthly goals for lead qualification and opportunity generation.

  • Develop opportunities for eligible leads and communicates pertinent information to the Sales team.

  • Participate in future customer engagement when appropriate to support opportunity movement.

  • Build a database of adoption cycle information in assigned school districts.

  • Perform other duties as needed to achieve sales goals.

Skills you will need here:

  • Bachelor's degree in sales, marketing, business, or related field; or equivalent work experience.

  • Successful completion of coursework in sales techniques, marketing, and communication preferred; or equivalent work experience.

  • Strong communication, interpersonal, teamwork, and customer service skills.

  • Good time management and analytical skills.

  • Good telephone etiquette and computer literacy skills,; Salesforce is a plus.

The full base pay range has been provided for this position. Individual base pay will vary based on work schedule, qualifications, experience, internal equity, and geographic location. Sales roles often incorporate a significant incentive compensation program beyond this base pay range.

$21.25 - $34.50 USD
