We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst (Remote) to join our Cengage Group Financial Data Analytics team, providing the financial and related operational support for Cengage Group. This position performs reporting and analysis for our subscription business, royalty expense, royalty payments and providing Ad Hoc analysis and reports and helping to support strategic planning.
To be successful in this role, you should have proven interpersonal skills with a track record of establishing collaborative business relationships with cross functional teams within an organization; the ability to lead and use large volume of data within analyzes along with using existing resources to problem solve; and have effective communication skills to work with all levels of management and staff.
This is a full-time remote position that can be located anywhere in the US with a preference for someone in Central or Eastern time zones.
What You'll Do Here:
Complete investment analysis to execute on business strategies
Allocate revenue for royalty payments for our subscription business
Analyzes monthly royalty expense results for Senior Leadership
Builds ad-hoc analysis reports for distribution to our partners
Ensures accuracy of monthly royalty payments
Supports the product team by compiling financial information to provide guidance and oversight on profitability of agreements with our partners
Develops relationships with the Product Organization and Finance Leadership
Participates in ad-hoc reporting, initiatives and analysis
Assists in maintaining data integrity within multiple systems
Investigates discrepancies and provides recommendations
Skills You Will Need Here:
Bachelor's Degree required, preferably in the Business Administration, Finance, Accounting or Data Analysis; MBA a plus
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Sophisticated Microsoft Excel skills
Adapts well to fast-pace environment and rapidly changing priorities and activities
Exhibits initiative and ability to work optimally and independently
Excellent detail-orientation with multitasking capabilities
Ability to contribute constructively in a team environment
Ability to communicate complex business information to a range of audiences

Preferred Knowledge/Skills/Experience:
Industry experience in publishing, software, or related content business
Minimum 2 years' work experience in financial planning or sales analysis/operations experience and in roles requiring problem solving/analytic skills, project management and presentation skills required
Demonstrated financial modeling knowledge and skills with strong analytical, quantitative, and problem- solving capabilities
Comfortable wearing multiple hats, ranging from leading finance and operational discussions to working with data to provide thoughtful analysis
Self-directed, self-motivated and demonstrated experience providing ideas and solutions to further business understanding
Must be tenacious, with the emotional intelligence to know when to advocate more and when to look for alternative approaches
Ability to listen and interpret the requirements of internal clients, plan accordingly and go above and beyond

The Account Development Representative (ADR) is part of our Inside Sales team and focuses on moving qualified leads through the sales pipeline. This goal of this role is to expand our customer base through outreach, prospecting, and lead qualification to connect with as many leads as possible and determine if the prospects fit our customer model.

Perform qualification of leads assigned by the Marketing team by connecting with potential customers via phone calls, emails, and web meetings.

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is a senior level, field-based sales position, responsible for proficiency in sales techniques and considered an authority on company products/services. The SAM also ensures successful implementation and delivery of Cengage solutions and services with Cengage Unlimited Institutional customers, that results in the appropriate receipt of contracted revenue, per deal terms. Sales calls will be at the instructor and/or director of education level, but also at the owner/operator level of business-to-business selling. In coordination with sales management, digital sales professionals, and Business Development Directors (BDDs), the rep will plan, prioritize and implement selling strategies in a territory to achieve revenue and unit targets for our entire product line, including digital materials. They will build relationships, as well as present and promote Cengage products to all customers.
What you'll do here:
Plan, organize, and prioritize sales strategies/plans to reach or exceed sales targets.
Generate realistic sales opportunities for both our installed business and new business takeaways.
Build strategic plans for high value opportunities, including sales campaigns and digital presentations.
Responsible for ensuring revenue to forecast, retention, and upsell for Cengage Institutional (-CUI-) contracts.
Lead internal project management, Key Account DSS, field sales, inside sales, and integration team, and hold the team accountable for delivering within scope for CUI
Lead customer -kickoff- calls and ensure that customers understand the resources available in, and how to use, the Cengage Customer Success Portal!
Serve as the central point of contact with executive-level partners within the institution, and maintain consistent contact via in-person visits, phone calls, email, and video conferencing
Close renewals by working with customers, internal sales and commercial operations team to structure and negotiate long-term, high value contracts that meet Cengage and Customer financial and business objectives
Negotiate Master Services Agreements with Institutions who agree to partner with Cengage in a contractual relationship.
Maintain and renew Cengage Unlimited Institutional partnerships, with a focus on expansion where contract is not currently all-in
Negotiate annual price increases in multi-year contracts to establish growth
Draw implications relevant to the customer's growth strategy that position Cengage favorably, prepare sales presentations, and effectively present how Cengage offering impacts customer metrics or needs in a compelling manner
Apply planning process for development of Territory Business Plan to increase market penetration of team resources and optimize sales calls
Implement strategic plans to coordinate selling efforts across career college chains
Develop and maintain Account Plans for each institution, using CRM system and database tools in order to do so
Represent all subject lists across a school, including the transition to digital technology from current print adopters
Incorporate Digital selling strategies into all sales calls when it fits customer needs
Attend conventions and evaluate in-person sales opportunities as appropriate
Review sales and sampling reports to impact cost-effectiveness of sales process
Manage territory level expense allotment in partnership with leadership
Update and maintain customer database

Bachelor's degree required or equivalent work experience
4 - 5 years field sales experience; with a preference in B2B sales and demonstrated history of consistent goal achievement
Demonstrated use of Consultative Selling Skills framework
Proven experience marketing products or services that impact a customer's core business

Proficiency using and selling technology products to win and close business

The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is a senior level, field-based sales position, responsible for proficiency in sales techniques and considered an authority on company products/services. The SAM also ensures successful implementation and delivery of Cengage solutions and services with Cengage Unlimited Institutional customers, that results in the appropriate receipt of contracted revenue, per deal terms. The Strategic Account Manager (SAM) is a senior level, field-based sales position, responsible for proficiency in sales techniques and considered an authority on company products/services. The SAM also ensures successful implementation and delivery of Cengage solutions and services with Cengage Unlimited Institutional customers, that results in the appropriate receipt of contracted revenue, per deal terms. Sales calls will be at the instructor and/or director of education level, but also at the owner/operator level of business-to-business selling. In coordination with sales management, digital sales professionals, and Business Development Directors (BDDs), the rep will plan, prioritize and implement selling strategies in a territory to achieve revenue and unit targets for our entire product line, including digital materials. They will build relationships, as well as present and promote Cengage products to all customers.
What you'll do here:
Plan, organize, and prioritize sales strategies/plans to reach or exceed sales targets.
Generate realistic sales opportunities for both our installed business and new business takeaways.
Build strategic plans for high value opportunities, including sales campaigns and digital presentations.
Responsible for ensuring revenue to forecast, retention, and upsell for Cengage Institutional (-CUI-) contracts.
Lead internal project management, Key Account DSS, field sales, inside sales, and integration team, and hold the team accountable for delivering within scope for CUI
Lead customer -kickoff- calls and ensure that customers understand the resources available in, and how to use, the Cengage Customer Success Portal!
Serve as the central point of contact with executive-level partners within the institution, and maintain consistent contact via in-person visits, phone calls, email, and video conferencing
Close renewals by working with customers, internal sales and commercial operations team to structure and negotiate long-term, high value contracts that meet Cengage and Customer financial and business objectives
Negotiate Master Services Agreements with Institutions who agree to partner with Cengage in a contractual relationship.
Maintain and renew Cengage Unlimited Institutional partnerships, with a focus on expansion where contract is not currently all-in
Negotiate annual price increases in multi-year contracts to establish growth
Draw implications relevant to the customer's growth strategy that position Cengage favorably, prepare sales presentations, and effectively present how Cengage offering impacts customer metrics or needs in a compelling manner
Apply planning process for development of Territory Business Plan to increase market penetration of team resources and optimize sales calls

Your role
As an Implementation Specialist, you play a critical role in the implementation process for our SaaS-based software platforms. Your technical prowess will enable you to easily understand the relationship between Infosec IQ and customer networks including firewalls, security appliances, and authentication. You understand the scope of feature requests, and how to be a trusted technical advisor to our clients through implementation and post-sales customer support.
You're a motivated individual contributor and a team player who works directly with customers, client success, and internal customer experience team to provide concise solutions to the client.
Your qualifications
1+ years of implementation or tier 2 (or higher), help desk experience, technical sales experience, or a suitable combination
Bachelor's degree preferred
Hands-on experience with troubleshooting network or technical issues. Knowledge of Active Directory, email servers, SSO, or Learning Management Systems preferred
Project management experience preferred (schedules, clear communication, and critical path to program launch)
Extremely organized and friendly with excellent verbal and written communication skills
