The Associate Portfolio Product Manager is a Portfolio Product Management (PM) role at Cengage with an expectation that you are ready to independently lead and demonstrate the full PM responsibilities within 12-24 months. This particular Associate Portfolio PM role will cover our Higher Education World Languages portfolio within the Social Sciences & Humanities team.
Associate Portfolio PMs serve the same function as Portfolio PMs for their given product group. Similar to the PM, the APM is responsible for crafting the product strategy, making product decisions, and leading a cross-functional pod. The APM role differs from the PM role in that there is a larger focus on learning and development. During one's time in the role, an Associate Portfolio PM hones the skills and proficiencies expected of full Portfolio PMs.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Lead a profitable product line and develop a strategic business plan in partnership with the Portfolio Product Director. The ideal candidate can be objective and willing to make hard choices regarding investment prioritization for the good of the overall organization. Ability to:
use data to make market-informed business proposals, take mitigated risks and inform strategic decisions, translate strategy into organized end-to-end development plans with budgets, resources, performance goals, and key milestones.
execute plans effectively by hitting deadlines and goals.
demonstrate strong communication skills with keen ability to facilitate team meetings, focus groups, interviews, presentations and trainings.
understand the basic tenants of learning design and theory.
establish yourself as product champion and team leader - taking on accountability and ownership.
Understand, analyze, identify, define, and size market segments associated with the assigned portfolio.
Lead product lifecycle of multiple products simultaneously within scope and budget.
Fully understand and track all product activity that affects assigned portfolio, including any product launches/enhancements and competitor movement. Develop a keen understanding of all competitors; develop an ability to anticipate competitor activity as it pertains to product medium or subject area.
Identify and test product ideas within segments, including the administration of focus groups, advisory boards, reviews, customer meetings and sensing as appropriate.
Regularly analyze product and portfolio plans to align forecasting and measurement of progress towards goals; provide business case for investment decisions. Suggest and monitor production budgets and schedules.
Partner closely with Marketing and Sales teams to seed and secure adoptions and work closely with colleagues in other functional areas (Development, Production, Marketing, Sales, Technology, etc.).
Make presentations at company sales meetings, campus visits, and academic conventions in support of sales efforts and to drive sales.

The Associate Portfolio Product Manager is a Portfolio Product Management (PM) role at Cengage with an expectation that you are ready to independently lead and demonstrate the full PM responsibilities within 12-24 months. Associate Portfolio PMs serve the same function as Portfolio PMs for their given product group. What you'll do here:
As a Procurement Operations Manager within the Procurement team, you will be a driver and contributor to cross-functional initiatives focused on improving internal workflows, services, and technologies.
There are three main areas of focus for a Procurement Operations Manager:

The Associate Portfolio Product Manager is a Portfolio Product Management (PM) role at Cengage with an expectation that you are ready to independently lead and demonstrate the full PM responsibilities within 12-24 months. Associate Portfolio PMs serve the same function as Portfolio PMs for their given product group. The Associate Portfolio Product Manager is a Portfolio Product Management (PM) role at Cengage with an expectation that you are ready to independently lead and demonstrate the full PM responsibilities within 12-24 months. This particular Associate Portfolio PM role will cover our Higher Education World Languages portfolio within the Social Sciences & Humanities team.
Associate Portfolio PMs serve the same function as Portfolio PMs for their given product group. Similar to the PM, the APM is responsible for crafting the product strategy, making product decisions, and leading a cross-functional pod. The APM role differs from the PM role in that there is a larger focus on learning and development. During one's time in the role, an Associate Portfolio PM hones the skills and proficiencies expected of full Portfolio PMs.

The Associate Portfolio Product Manager is a Portfolio Product Management (PM) role at Cengage with an expectation that you are ready to independently lead and demonstrate the full PM responsibilities within 12-24 months. This particular Associate Portfolio PM role will cover our Higher Education World Languages portfolio within the Social Sciences & Humanities team.
Associate Portfolio PMs serve the same function as Portfolio PMs for their given product group. Similar to the PM, the APM is responsible for crafting the product strategy, making product decisions, and leading a cross-functional pod. The APM role differs from the PM role in that there is a larger focus on learning and development. During one's time in the role, an Associate Portfolio PM hones the skills and proficiencies expected of full Portfolio PMs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
We are looking for a Senior Financial Analyst that will play a key role in the Cengage Academic Finance group providing the financial and related operational support for several Cengage Academic teams! Responsibilities include forecasting, reporting, and variance analysis for the Cengage Academic P&L; decision support for various Cengage Academic teams; and financial and operational support in pursuit of strategic drivers of value. Candidates able to go into our Mason, OH once a week for team meetings is preferred however remote/virtual candidates will be considered.
The incumbent should have proven interpersonal skills with a track record of establishing collaborative business relationships with cross functional teams within an organization; the ability to manage and use large volumes of data within analyses along with using existing resources to problem solve; and have effective communication skills to work with all levels of management and staff. This role will report to the Director of Finance.
What you'll do here:
Support the FP&A function for Cengage Academic teams including preparation of the annual budget and subsequent re-forecasts, variance analysis, monthly reporting, and ad hoc reporting
Maintains and updates headcount tracker and other financial models and performs analysis to support the budgeting/forecasting process in support of strategic initiatives
Investigates discrepancies and provides recommendations
Communicate with business partners to identify strategic priorities, funding plans, and reporting requirements
Use Excel to model scenarios, build forecasts, perform trend analysis, and identify drivers of business
Drive decision making and strategy with data and analytical insight
Skills you will need here:
Undergraduate or Graduate degree in Accounting/Finance, or Quantitative subject areas required
4+ years related experience in financial reporting, planning, forecasting, analysis, and month-end close
Ability to contribute constructively in a team-oriented environment and adapts well to fast-paced environment with constantly evolving priorities and activities
Advanced experience with Microsoft Office tools, specifically Excel, Access, and PowerPoint required
Experience with PowerPivot, Tableau, Smartsheets and other data visualization tools a plus
Experience with financial reporting and planning software and general ledger systems (JD Edwards, Hyperion Essbase -Smartview, Oracle Data Warehouse, PLANit)
Strong Accounting background with understanding of GAAP and Compliance standards

SUMMARY: As a member of the digital print center team, the primary objective for this position is to safely and accurately print, trim, bind and put away printed products as requested by Cengage Learning customers.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: The Hunkeler Operator position is responsible for trimming, stacking and palletizing as specified in customer orders. The technician will need to work independently and be willing to learn all machinery within the Digital Print Center. As all positions in the distribution facility, this position will flex to other departments as necessary or decided by business needs.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Utilize sight recognition and matching of numeric and alpha listings to ensure accurate inventory and order placement.
Operate machinery to assemble, trim, and collate products as specified by customers. - Maintain a clean working environment protecting machinery.
Adjust equipment as necessary to ensure machinery runs efficiently.
Comfortable with computer entry.
Perform consistent counting of product and pallets utilizing addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Safely lift, push, pull and relocate packages up to 50lbs as required.
Ensure carts are safely/properly stacked to full capacity.
Must be able to flex between the digital print center and other departments as business needs instruct.
Must be able to safely operate and maintain Powered Industrial Truck license.
Adhere to all safety practices and policies.
Other duties as assigned.
SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE: Required:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
At least 18 years of age.
Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary.
Strong organizational skills are required, as well as the capability to multitask efficiently.
Maintain appropriate PIT certifications.
Must be flexible with work hours.
Adequate computer experience.
Stand and walk for 8-10 hours.
Ability to push, pull and lift up to 50lbs throughout an 8-10 hour shift. Must be able to push/pull 1,100 lb. rolls of paper on a cart.
Adhere to all safety practices and policies.
PREFERRED:
Strong computer skills.
Prior distribution experience.
Compensation is $18.50/hr.
