We are searching for a talented associate ready to step into a product specialist role and take the lead in supporting our thermoplastic growth in the I-85 Corridor of NC, SC, GA. Major markets include but are not limited to Atlanta, GA, Greenville, SC, Charlotte, NC, Western, NC. This role is a critical position within our business. This associate will report directly to the Industrial Plastics Business Development Manager with direction from the Area Sales Managers within the assigned geography. Ferguson Industrial Southeast is an industrial salesforce comprised of over 300 associates across more than 20 locations. The district coverage is VA, NC, SC, GA, FL.

We are searching for a candidate who has passion & experience selling thermoplastic products and services including HDPE, PP, PP-RCT, PVDF, ECTFE, along with supporting non-corrosive products. Additionally, the candidate should possess the understanding of butt fusion, electrofusion process and equipment . This role is designed for someone that wants account responsibility and the opportunity to develop other associates.

Responsibilities:

  • Prospect and development all engineered thermoplastic business at industrial end users

  • Maintain relationships with existing customers and use your technical knowledge to grow sales

  • Provide feedback to sales leadership on trends, market acceptance of products, & overall performance

  • Support outside sales team in the assigned geography for all engineered plastics products

  • Interact and develop relationships with key vendors to support sales at the accounts in your market

  • Work with inside sales team. Be a team player. Grow others so they can support you

  • Present engineered thermoplastics products to customers & engineering offices

  • Develop and maintain relationships with engineering offices driving product specification

Qualifications:

  • Industry knowledge and experience are defining factors in the success of this role. A successful Product Specialist will be goal driven, motivated, team oriented & able to build new relationships to grow sales.

  • 5+ years of experience in selling Thermoplastic products is required

  • Knowledge of fusion equipment and joining process is required

  • Strong attention to detail

  • Ability to effectively train others on thermoplastic products and services

  • A high level of integrity dealing with problem solving, leadership & listening skills

  • Ability to organize and prioritize work

  • Ability to efficiently operate computers, tablets and mobile devices

  • Ability to overcome objections, speak in uncomfortable situations and manage customer expectations

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, etc.)

  • Associate will need to reside in their geographical area

Pay: starting at $20 per hour or higher depending on experience

Schedule: Monday-Friday 7am-4pm

Responsibilities:

  • Provides advice to customers regarding the best products to fit their needs

  • Processing orders via order management system

  • Operate cash registers and follow established cash handling procedures

  • Prepare and stage orders for customer pick up

  • Maintain store appearance and merchandising standards as advised

  • Ensure that merchandise is restocked and placed in their respective areas

  • Maintain a safe working environment including PPE (Personal Protective Equipment)

  • Be responsible for driver duties and responsibilities

Qualifications:

  • 0-3 years of experience preferred

  • Valid drivers license required

  • Basic knowledge of HVAC or plumbing products is preferred
