We have an exciting opportunity for you to join Essentia Health as a Medical Technologist (MT) or as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT). The Medical Technologist will perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries; will interpret and correlate test results with disease states and theoretical knowledge, exhibit problem solving skills of a highly complex nature, participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting. May be required to perform phlebotomy and specimen processing duties and will participate in research, development, education, and technical consultation. Meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing. The Medical Laboratory Technician will perform and report tests of all complexity levels, as defined by CLIA, on patients of all ages to assist with the routine screening, diagnosis, treatment and management of diseases and injuries. Will also exhibit problem solving skills of a complex nature, participate in Quality Assurance, Quality Control Monitoring, instrumentation maintenance and troubleshooting, specimen processing, phlebotomy, along with customer service.

Education Qualifications:

Medical Technologist:

Graduate of a four year degree program in an accredited school of clinical laboratory science or equivalent discipline.

Medical Laboratory Technician:

• Graduate of an Associate's degree in Medical Laboratory Technician OR

• Meets Clinical Laboratory Improvement Amendments (CLIA) guidelines for the complexity of laboratory testing for alternative route

Licensure/Certification Qualifications:

Medical Technologist:

Certification as a Medical Laboratory Scientist (ASCP), Medical Technologist (ASCP), or Clinical Laboratory Scientist (NCA) or equivalent is required within one year of hire.

Medical Laboratory Technician:

Certified as a Medical Laboratory Technician through the American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP), American Medical Technologists (AMT) or National Credentialing Agency (NCA) or equivalent within one year of hire.

This position provides comprehensive spiritual care to patients of all ages and their families. Services include but are not limited to, individual patient/resident support related to spiritual care, family support and prayer as well as employee support. Provide support to patients and families facing grief and end of life issues, to include assisting with decision making and Advanced Care Planning. Lead religious ceremonies of worship, rituals and other spiritual care programs as directed. Documents care and support provided and participates in meetings and educational programs. • Associate Membership in NACC (National Association of Catholic Chaplains) or APC (Association of Professional Chaplains) or NAJC (National Association of Jewish Chaplains) is strongly preferred.

Special Requirement: Ecclesiastical endorsement: For a Catholic priest/minister or vowed religious by his/her superior and the local Bishop.

For a Catholic lay person: Denomination endorsement (by Pastor, bishop, or church authority)

Chaplains from other faith traditions/denominations need to provide letter of endorsement from their denomination by Pastor, bishop, or Religious authority.
