Team Overview

The main focus of this team is to support sales and distribution by educating commercial roofing installers on the finer points of installing a single-ply roof system. GAF has nine trailers nationwide, fully equipped with membranes, accessories, equipment, and mockups that we bring to the contractor's facility and train their employees. The objective is to improve the quality of their installations, which will reduce callbacks and improve their reputation in the marketplace.

Summary

The Commercial Training Specialist will drive world class learning & development initiatives for both internal talent and GAF's external customers. The overall focus is on GAF commercial single-ply, ISO and coatings product lines. The specialist is responsible for presentation development, hands-on product application training and curriculum development focused on the TPO & ISO product lines and their correct field application.

Essential Duties

Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for training GAF commercial contractors and distribution partners in the finer points of commercial product installations.

  • Capture & share best practices about product installation.

  • Monitors and evaluates technical training programs, assesses results and implements enhancements as needed to ensure the effectiveness of programs

  • Conduct project site visits & job starts to review in-progress or complete project installations. Develop tools to develop GAF employees regarding job starts and inspections.

  • Assist in developing new products and capabilities for commercial roofing products. Focus primarily on single-ply products.

Under This Roof, We Require

  • Minimum of 8 years applicable experience in the commercial roofing industry, preferably with experience as a Superintendent or Foreman with single-ply product lines.

  • Musthavetheabilitytocommunicateandpresentinfrontoflargegroups.

  • Willingness to work alone and be unsupervised. Travel is nearly 75% and the position requires the willingness and ability to undertake that lifestyle.

  • Beproficientathandweldingthermoplasticdetails.

  • Operates from a remote office, without daily direct supervision, self-schedules and self-motivated.

  • Roof Consultants Institute: Registered Roof Observer (RRO) designation Roof Consultants Institute: Registered Roof Consultants (RRC) highly preferred.

Monday - Friday.

6:45am - 3:00pm

Overtime as needed!

Essential Duties

  • Complete the safety training required for Mechanic III.

  • Within the MAXIMO Asset Management Software, develop work order details, and add supporting documentation, reports, test plans, & schedules.

  • Adheres to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures while actively participating in the safety program.

  • Advanced knowledge of lubrication for plant equipment.

  • Advanced knowledge of vibration analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of infrared thermography and ultrasound analysis.

  • Advanced knowledge of job plans for lubrication, vibration analysis, infrared thermography, and ultrasound.

  • Direct knowledge of optimum lube inventory levels and track usage.

  • Maintains proper lube storage, including 5S standard storage location.

  • Creates and prioritizes corrective work orders based on inspection while performing tasks.

  • Performs root-cause failure analysis.

  • Understands how to follow mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and P&ID drawings, sketches, plans, layouts, and instructions.

  • Understands how to start up and shut down production equipment.

  • Identify equipment parts & procure them from the store room.

  • Direct knowledge of how each segment of the manufacturing process works.

  • Maintains good housekeeping standards in all work areas.

  • Develops the continued improvement of production equipment, operation, process, safety, and maintenance programs in conjunction with Operations.

  • Develops preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.

  • Operates Fork Trucks & Man Lifts.

  • Troubleshoots, installs, aligns, dismantles, repairs, and maintains industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, and utility equipment (air compressors, hot oil systems, water, natural gas, emergency generator, etc.)

  • Installs and repairs mechanical drives, pumps, fans, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, and couplings.

  • Advanced welding skills using oxy-acetylene, MIG, TIG, & arc welding processes. Welding certification required.

  • Tests performance of repaired equipment and communicates results with operators.

  • Adjusts functional parts of the equipment and control instruments.

  • Performs daily preventative maintenance on the equipment, facility, infrastructure, & utilities.

  • Ensures equipment/plant safety devices are operational.

  • Maintains accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventive maintenance findings.

  • Uses pipefitting skills to weld, cut, fit, maintain, and install piping throughout the facility.

Summary

The Maintenance Technician responds to issues on the production line and performs diversified maintenance work including repairs and routine preventative maintenance on all equipment. Team or Function Overview

This position will be on the Mt. Vernon, Indiana commercial plant operations team, located about 20 miles west of Evansville, along the Ohio River. The GAF TPO Facility in Mount Vernon was founded in 2000 and produces TPO roofing systems. Short for thermoplastic polyolefin, TPO is a single-ply roofing membrane that offers excellent performance at a cost-effective price. In the 20+ years that TPO has been in the field, it's become one of the most popular products used for low-slope roofing.

Summary

The Commercial Operations GAF Business Systems Specialist is responsible for supporting the integration of continuous improvement in plant operations. Responsible and accountable for continuous improvement and efficiencies across the plant's products, systems, operations and processes. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager with a dotted line to the Director GAF Production Systems. The ideal candidate will have a solid lean and/or six sigma background with the ability to coach, train and drive these projects within the plant.

Essential Duties

Complete the safety training required for the Multicraft Technician before doing any work that requires the training. This includes electrical safety training and Arc Flash training and proper use of Electrician PPE.

Within the MAXIMO Asset Management Software, learn how to complete work task details, and find/retrieve spare parts.

Complete the safety training required for the Multicraft Technician.

Adheres to all plant safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and procedures while actively participating in the safety program.

Maintains good housekeeping standards in all work areas.

Full utilization of MAXIMO.

Independently perform troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of mechanical (including pneumatic and hydraulic) systems.

Independently perform troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance of electrical (including AC motors, electric power distribution circuits, conduit, and wire), and electro-mechanical (including AC/DC controls, Variable Frequency Drives, and servo motors and servo drives) systems.

Connect to Programmable Logic Controllers (PLC) and use appropriate software tools to identify and rectify the cause of process interruptions and equipment malfunctions.

Maintain sufficient knowledge of electronics systems, and be sufficiently conversant in

the technical jargon of the electronics trade to work collaboratively with Electronics & Instrumentation Technicians when necessary to restore operations following malfunctions of electronic equipment.

Troubleshoot and repair analog and digital instrumentation and monitoring devices such as Level Indicators, Flow Meters, Scales, Viscometers, Densitometers, Pressure Transducers, Thermocouples and Motion Control equipment.

Lubricate and perform preventive maintenance on all equipment.

Identify and notify supervisor about equipment discrepancies found.

Safely operate and maintain a variety of machines, meters, hand tools, and power tools including: metal lathes, milling machines, welders, threaders, saws, pneumatic hammers, drills, grinders, and cutting torches.

Perform repairs efficiently while following all safety guidelines and best practices.

Communicate openly and honestly with production operators and all supervisors to maintain focus on the primary objective of exceeding customer needs and quality satisfaction at or above the planned production rates.

Assist with or lead the update of SOPs, JSAs, PMs, Job Plans, and Centerlining documents.

Assist with maintaining accurate storeroom, calibration, and historical records.

Expert knowledge of advanced oil analysis, precision alignment, lubrication for plant equipment, vibration analysis, infrared thermography and ultrasound analysis.

Direct knowledge of boiler operation, environmental monitoring/reporting, heat/stress/fatigue analysis, metallurgy.

Contributes to job plans for lubrication, vibration analysis, infrared thermography and ultrasound.

Manages optimum lube inventory levels and tracks usage.

Maintains proper lube storage, including 5S standard of storage location.

Creates and prioritizes corrective work orders based upon inspection while performing tasks.

Able to follow mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, utility, and P&ID drawings, sketches, plans, layouts, and instructions.

Understands best practices on how to start up and shut down production equipment.

Identify equipment parts & procures them from the store room.

Direct knowledge of how each segment of the manufacturing process works.

Contributes to the development of preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.

Operates Fork Trucks & Man Lifts.

Troubleshoots, installs, aligns, dismantles, repairs, and maintains industrial machinery, mechanical equipment, pneumatic systems, hydraulic equipment, and utility equipment (air compressors, hot oil systems, water, natural gas, emergency generator, etc.)

Installs and repairs mechanical drives, pumps, fans, chains, sprockets, gearboxes, belts, and couplings.

Welds using oxy acetylene, MIG, TIG, & arc welding tools. Welding certification required.

Tests performance of repaired equipment and communicates results with Operations.

Adjusts functional parts of the equipment to ensure optimal performance.

Performs daily preventative maintenance on the equipment, facility, infrastructure, & utilities.

Ensures equipment/plant safety devices are operational.

Responsible for accurate maintenance logs including labor hours and critical preventive maintenance findings.

Uses pipefitting skills to weld, cut, fit, maintain, and install piping throughout the facility.

Uses problem solving methods to identify the root cause and eliminate failures.

Has a working knowledge and understanding of HAZMAT, MSDS, EPA, OSHA, NEC, and NFPA requirements.

Develops continuous improvement standards, methods, and procedures for Maintenance Mechanics.

Technical lead for the continued improvement of production equipment, operation, process, safety, and maintenance programs in conjunction with Operations.

Contributes to the implementation of asset strategies, such as maintenance routes, preventative maintenance, and other tasks to improve reliability and uptime.

Implements the preventative and predictive maintenance procedures.

Summary

The Field Technology Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, production, installation, and commissioning of electrical and process control systems in support of GAF's innovative manufacturing processes. Summary

The Field Technology Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, production, installation, and commissioning of electrical and process control systems in support of GAF's innovative manufacturing processes.   • Lead assigned projects and participate in cross functional corporate project teams.

Summary

The Field Technology Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, production, installation, and commissioning of electrical and process control systems in support of GAF's innovative manufacturing processes. The Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Field Technology Manager and will lead various projects at our manufacturing facilities throughout the country.

  • Lead assigned projects and participate in cross functional corporate project teams.

  • Design process control panels and automation systems including the specification and selection of enclosures, disconnecting means, circuit breakers, fuses, transformers and power supplies, PLCs and I/O modules, motor starters and VFDs, servo drives and motors, E-stop circuits, and other components as necessary.

  • Perform load calculations to define the appropriate size/capacity of components and wiring.

  • Interpret and update existing -as-built- designs based on field verification.

  • Provide hands-on support for control system fabrication, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and field installation/commissioning for all assigned projects.

Summary

The Field Technology Electrical Engineer is responsible for the design, production, installation, and commissioning of electrical and process control systems in support of GAF's innovative manufacturing processes. The Electrical Engineer will report directly to the Field Technology Manager and will lead various projects at our manufacturing facilities throughout the country.

Essential Duties

  • Lead assigned projects and participate in cross functional corporate project teams.

  • Design process control panels and automation systems including the specification and selection of enclosures, disconnecting means, circuit breakers, fuses, transformers and power supplies, PLCs and I/O modules, motor starters and VFDs, servo drives and motors, E-stop circuits, and other components as necessary.

  • Perform load calculations to define the appropriate size/capacity of components and wiring.

  • Develop preliminary scopes of work, cost estimates, and schedules for assigned projects.

  • Create layout drawings, panel schedules, single-line diagrams, and bills of materials.

  • Interpret and update existing -as-built- designs based on field verification.

  • Provide hands-on support for control system fabrication, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and field installation/commissioning for all assigned projects.

  • Collaborate with the Corporate Project Engineering and Corporate Process Controls teams to ensure electrical and control system designs are in compliance to GAF standards.

  • Collaborate with Procurement to acquire all materials required for project completion.

  • Actively engage in sharing best practices with peers and plant personnel

  • Provide technical leadership for all field personnel in the areas of safety, quality, and performance
