JMT's growing Structures Team is seeking to add a dynamic Bridge Project Engineer to their Richmond, Virginia Office. This position will provide a variety of bridge design experiences, giving a well-rounded opportunity for professional development and growth. U.S. Residency Required.
The Bridge Project Engineer will design bridge and transportation structures of varying complexity in accordance with AASHTO and VDOT Specifications. The Bridge Project Engineer will receive general supervision from the Project Manager and will assist with project management responsibilities as appropriate. Bridge design tasks and responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Structural analysis and design calculations for bridges (steel plate girders, prestressed concrete beams, foundations, etc.), retaining walls, bridge repairs, and ancillary structures (traffic signals, overhead sign structures, etc.)
Preparing structural plan details in accordance with VDOT and industry standards, while also considering requirements from other disciplines (survey, roadway, drainage, etc.)
Preliminary design reports, which summarize and compare different structural alternatives depending on the project

Construction submittal reviews, including RFI's and shop drawings. Perform site visits to ongoing construction projects when warranted

Position summary: JMT is seeking a highly motivated Traffic Section Head to lead and grow the traffic section in Eastern PA, while collaborating with offices across Pennsylvania. Based in the Fort Washington Office, the successful candidate will be a technical leader in traffic engineering and be required to engage in business development activities including proposal writing as well as fostering existing and developing new market opportunities.
