TRANSITIONING SERVICE MEMBERS ONLY AS PART OF THE DOD SKILLBRIDGE PROGRAM
To offer eligible Service Members currently approved to participate in the DoD SkillBridge program the opportunity to gain first-hand experience and insight into Navy Federal's business, technology, resources, and procedures by providing support in focused areas, applying knowledge and education. Participate in a collaborative, team driven network, and interact with multiple departments. Utilize and further develop technical and soft skills, business knowledge, analytical techniques, and creative problem-solving abilities. Provide professional execution of day-to-day tasks and special projects while working within established standards, policies, and procedures.
To support Navy Federal by participating in the development and follow-up analysis of policy and process updates. To provide end-user support for manuals and Navy Federal Systems. Works under general supervision with limited discretion. Develops alternate course of action based on precedent or policy. Perform moderately complex/varied tasks with moderate impact and limited latitude.
Responsibilities
- Ensure project deliverables are met in accordance with customers' expectations, timelines & budget constraints
- Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders and/or external contacts (vendors, etc.)
- Conduct research and preparation of reference material
- Ensure effective management of projects from inception through implementation
- Identify, communicate, and resolve technical, tactical and operational project issues and risks
- Maintain documentation library to ensure currency of processes
- Provide training to end user in the use of electronic manuals and reference material
- Review proposed policy and procedure changes for technical adequacy, completeness, compliance to regulations
- Administer and develop internal intranet content
- Conduct and/or facilitate user acceptance testing to include developing and executing test cases, communication with project teams, validating and documenting results
- Ensure clear, concise, and effective communication of material
- Interact with various sub-teams to determine user requirements and specifications
- Organize policy and procedures according to set standards
- Recommend strategy for communications
- Serve on teams and task groups for projects/initiatives within the business unit &/or across the organization
- Write online reference material, instructions, and communications

Qualifications
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment

Overview
To plan, supervise and lead the daily operation of the Repossession section in Collections, which is responsible for managing the repossession portfolio of accounts. Supervise the end-to-end processing of assigning, routing, and remarketing of NFCU collateral to minimize losses to Navy Federal. Serve as subject matter expert regarding section functions, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Establish and ensure that section objectives, production goals, and standards are implemented and achieved
Develop strategic plans, tactics, and goals for the repossession department; monitor day to day team activities and operations to ensure processes and procedures comply with laws, regulations, and standards
Provide guidance and training to staff in the repossession to maximize recoveries and minimize losses to the credit union
Investigate and provide additional details for all Replevin accounts to ensure legal has necessary documentation to secure collateral
Manage repossession vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with applicable state laws. Review monthly reporting to ensure vendors are meeting expectations for securing collateral
Manage vendors used in the repossession and vehicle sale process; negotiate fees and terms
Supervise negotiation and fulfillment of contracts, ensuring that service levels meet required standards and expectations
Provide oversight in determining the price best approach to sell collateral; review and approve the release of liens on titles for sold vehicles
Monitor costs related to repossession and sale of collateral property; authorize expenses related to repossession and charge-off, and perform audits in the vendor payment database (i.e. 909). Provide oversight of letters being sent to our members to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the data
Manage and resolve escalated complex issues from branches, members, third parties, creditors, and attorneys
Manage and provide guidance to and collaborate with other business units and external contacts to resolve urgent member-related and operational problems
Manage reporting data on repossessions, redemptions and reinstatements, analyzing trends
Maintain thorough knowledge of and comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (15 U.S.C. 19620), state consumer protection laws, industry regulations and practices, and Navy Federal policies and procedures that govern delinquency, repossessions, and charged-off accounts
Qualifications
Strong knowledge of banking/financial industry trends, products and services
Strong knowledge of the remarketing industry, applicable laws, policies, industry standards, processes, procedures, and systems related to credit, delinquent accounts, and repossession activities
Significant experience working with all levels of staff, management, stakeholders, vendors
Experience supervising and/or leading employees

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in information systems, Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
Proficiency in programing language such as Python & Spark.
In-depth knowledge of streaming data concepts and architecture.
Expertise in working with distributed systems and streaming frameworks with focus on Apache Kafka and Apache Flink.
Expertise with real time data processing in Cloud (Azure Event Hubs, Azure Stream Analytics, Azure Functions or similar).
Problem-solving skills to address the issues related to data consistency and scalability.
Experience in Data Lake (Azure or similar), ETL tools (Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks or similar), Data Warehouse (Azure Synapse or similar), and Big Data skills (Spark, etc.) for querying and manipulating datasets.
Experience in Data Modeling, Data Governance (Azure Purview or similar), Data Quality and Data Integration.
Experience in other programming languages (SQL, Java, etc.) to process data.
Experience in integrating structured, semi-structured and unstructured data sources to deliver analytics solutions using Data Lake, Data Warehouse, and NoSQL Data Hubs (Azure Cosmos DB or similar).
Experience with processing various file types in Data Lake (Delta, Parquet or similar).
Experience in monitoring performance of data workflows and infrastructure through use of monitoring tools (Azure Monitor or similar) and enabling alerts for prompt resolution.

Overview

Qualifications

Overview
To interview and counsel members about first mortgage loans and to take mortgage loan applications. To establish and maintain personal relationship with members, and to guide and follow their mortgage loans from initial application through the loan closing process. To determine applicants' qualifications; providing detailed information about Navy Federal's mortgage and equity loan products; clarify complexities of the mortgage/equity loan process; and evaluate, personalize, and recommend financing alternatives. To build and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, and other centers of influence.
Responsibilities
Analyze referred loans for areas of concern and determine proper course of action (e.g. obtain explanations for derogatory credit)
Determine and advise members on approved loan conditions and documentation requirements
Ensure progress and inclusion of required mortgage processing information (e.g. verifications of employment, assets, income and liabilities; appraisal reports, Navy Federal and investor requirements, etc.)
Maintain contact with the member, Realtor and/or seller during the entire loan process

Overview

Overview
To plan, supervise and lead the daily operation of the Repossession section in Collections, which is responsible for managing the repossession portfolio of accounts. Supervise the end-to-end processing of assigning, routing, and remarketing of NFCU collateral to minimize losses to Navy Federal. Serve as subject matter expert regarding section functions, policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
Establish and ensure that section objectives, production goals, and standards are implemented and achieved
Develop strategic plans, tactics, and goals for the repossession department; monitor day to day team activities and operations to ensure processes and procedures comply with laws, regulations, and standards
Provide guidance and training to staff in the repossession to maximize recoveries and minimize losses to the credit union
Investigate and provide additional details for all Replevin accounts to ensure legal has necessary documentation to secure collateral
Manage repossession vendor relationships, and ensure compliance with applicable state laws. Review monthly reporting to ensure vendors are meeting expectations for securing collateral
Manage vendors used in the repossession and vehicle sale process; negotiate fees and terms
Supervise negotiation and fulfillment of contracts, ensuring that service levels meet required standards and expectations
Provide oversight in determining the price best approach to sell collateral; review and approve the release of liens on titles for sold vehicles
Monitor costs related to repossession and sale of collateral property; authorize expenses related to repossession and charge-off, and perform audits in the vendor payment database (i.e. 909). Provide oversight of letters being sent to our members to ensure timeliness and accuracy of the data
Manage and resolve escalated complex issues from branches, members, third parties, creditors, and attorneys
Manage and provide guidance to and collaborate with other business units and external contacts to resolve urgent member-related and operational problems
Manage reporting data on repossessions, redemptions and reinstatements, analyzing trends
Maintain thorough knowledge of and comply with the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (15 U.S.C. 19620), state consumer protection laws, industry regulations and practices, and Navy Federal policies and procedures that govern delinquency, repossessions, and charged-off accounts
Qualifications

Overview
To support Internal Audit's data-driven audit testing strategy and the development of the Continuous Audit Program (CAP). Perform complex analytical and statistical modeling on large data sets to provide Internal Audit leadership, risk partners, and business unit Management with actionable intelligence and insights on key risks to business processes and controls. Define data requirements, perform data collection, processing, cleaning, analysis, modeling and visualization on systems and data from all lines of business. Design, automate and publish data pipelines and dashboards that provide continuous monitoring capabilities. Lead complex data analysis projects with minimal supervision and wide latitude for independent judgment. Consult with audit teams and other stakeholders to advise on data analytics best-practices on audit engagements. Effectively manage projects from inception through deployment and maintenance.
Responsibilities
Develop, maintain, and manage advanced reporting, dashboards, data models and analytical results
Evaluate and define functional requirements for analytics and business intelligence (BI) solutions
Retrieve, analyze and validate data and test accuracy of reported results
Work directly with project leads to understand requirements and propose key analytics solutions to drive effective decision-making and influence business objectives
Produce actionable reports that demonstrate key performance indicators, identify areas of improvement for current operations, and show root cause analysis of problems
Analyze and summarize business operations, customer and/or economic data in order to improve business intelligence, optimize operating effectiveness and predict business outcomes
Identify trends and patterns in business data; create data visualizations to support business decision making
Build new and/or modify existing database/data warehouse/data mart and business intelligence solutions to meet business and system requirements

Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Statistics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Data Science, Data Analytics, or a related field, or the equivalent combination of training, education and experience
Significant hands-on experience in the use of business intelligence tools such as PowerBI, Tableau, Cognos, Qlick, or similar)
Significant hands-on experience in the application of statistical methods, mathematical techniques, forecasting, cost-benefit analysis, related analytical tools and programming languages (Python, R, SAS or similar)
Advanced hands-on SQL skills for extraction, transformation and analysis of data

Overview
To manage and direct all activities of a medium/large full service branch office operation by overseeing the efficient operation of the branch to ensure operational functions are completed and properly performed by branch staff.
Responsibilities
Manage, direct and motivate the branch team to provide members the full range of Navy Federal Credit Union products and services including lending products and depository accounts such as checking, savings, certificate, IRA, revocable trust and estate accounts
Lead cash operations and branch self-auditing efforts to keep credit union assets secure and within operational limits

Overview
To advise Real Estate Lending senior leadership and lead on-going technology risk strategy that supports and aligns with corporate and departmental strategic goals and initiatives, mitigates risk, and enhances operating procedures. Overview
To advise Real Estate Lending senior leadership and lead on-going technology risk strategy that supports and aligns with corporate and departmental strategic goals and initiatives, mitigates risk, and enhances operating procedures. Assist developing action plans for process improvements, managing resources, project management, and operations to achieve organizational, strategic, financial, and member service goals and objectives. Execute ad hoc and additional technology risk initiatives that promote operational efficiency and service excellence. Serve as subject matter expert to support, coach, and mentor junior level team members in documenting technology process risks and control, performing operational technology risk assessments. Must have a strong understanding of technology business processes, enterprise data governance, and technology or security governance frameworks such as COBIT or NIST 800-53. May oversee team assignments such as risk reporting, risk assessments, controls testing, and issues management.

Responsibilities
Establish a data governance risk program in accordance with internal data governance standards.
Lead risk team members in efficient execution of the technology risk management program within the department, identify areas of risk, evaluate effectiveness, present mitigation opportunities and business solutions, and ensure alignment with enterprise frameworks and with industry best practices
Responsible for development and leadership of comprehensive technology risk initiatives in line with the enterprise goals and regulatory expectations
Partner with business unit stakeholders to translate technology control deficiencies into action plans and provide recommendations to enhance governance practices
Develop and oversee project plans, teams, and roadmaps that outline preventative and corrective actions necessary to remediate control deficiencies, maximizing effectiveness, and mitigating future exposure
Leverage individual research, internal and external papers to drive process improvement
Responsible for risk reporting metrics enhancement to identify performance, risk trends, and best practices to cultivate a best-in-class emerging industry risk program
Serve as subject matter expert regarding technology risk, business functions, systems, policies and/or procedures
Advise and assist in facilitating technology risk reporting with senior leadership and key risk stakeholders, drive meaningful conversation, identify outcomes and actions, and ensure follow-up for those actions with risk decision makers and performers
Collaborate by actively working across business lines, communicating knowledge and business processes to other business units
Develop program enhancements to identify critical areas to monitor and escalate issues and findings to appropriate stakeholders and governance committees
Build and maintain relationships with team members, management, key stakeholders, and external contacts/vendors
Stay abreast of and ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations and guidelines

Qualifications
Advanced knowledge of technology related operational and regulatory risks and controls, including risk management techniques, methodologies, and systems
Experiencing developing data governance related risk programs, including an advanced understanding of managing risk for data management practices
Experience assimilating technical, complex data; proficient in data analysis, reporting, auditing, and operations research
Expert analytical/quantitative, reconciliation, and deductive reasoning skills
Advanced communication and presentation skills; ability to persuade and influence; communicate complex information in an easily understandable manner
Strong problem solving and decision-making skills and the ability to work independently
Bachelor's degree in information systems, computer engineering, or other technology related specializations or the equivalent combination of education, training, and experience

Experience with credit union technology risk management programs and/or NCUA regulations

Overview
To interview and counsel members about first mortgage loans and to take mortgage loan applications. To establish and maintain personal relationship with members, and to guide and follow their mortgage loans from initial application through the loan closing process. To determine applicants' qualifications; providing detailed information about Navy Federal's mortgage and equity loan products; clarify complexities of the mortgage/equity loan process; and evaluate, personalize, and recommend financing alternatives. To build and maintain referral relationships with realtors, builders, and other centers of influence.
Responsibilities
Analyze referred loans for areas of concern and determine proper course of action (e.g. obtain explanations for derogatory credit)
Determine and advise members on approved loan conditions and documentation requirements
Ensure progress and inclusion of required mortgage processing information (e.g. verifications of employment, assets, income and liabilities; appraisal reports, Navy Federal and investor requirements, etc.)
Maintain contact with the member, Realtor and/or seller during the entire loan process Monitor mortgage loan process and ensure compliance with Federal laws, as well as, Navy Federal, NCUA and secondary market practices, guidelines and regulations
Remain available to members and/or their real estate agents during scheduled evening hours after assigned work days and during scheduled hours on assigned days off (e.g. weekends)
Request and obtain documentation needed and forward to Mortgage Processor Respond to inquiries about mortgage applications, processing status, problems and concerns
Seek and leverage opportunities to conduct outside marketing and promotional activities to members and potential members through financial presentations, local events and realtor/trade shows and events
Take first mortgage loan applications via face-to-face interview, mail and telephone
Resolve or arrange for resolution of operational/processing issues, inquiries and complaints
Respond to inquiries and resolve any issues concerning the processing of applications
Review application for completeness, data integrity and accuracy; determine if additional information and/or supporting documentation is required
Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
Ability to work effectively and efficiently with automated systems
Experience in the mortgage lending industry
Working knowledge of mortgage lending requirements, regulations and procedures for VA and conventional loan programs
Working knowledge of mortgage/equity loan processing, closing and documentation requirements and regulations
Incumbent will be required, prior to the assumption of employment duties, to register with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry; includes fingerprinting and background checks
Advanced skill in comprehending, analyzing, applying and communicating complex written legal documents
Advanced skill speaking and/or presenting in front of groups in a professional setting
Advanced word processing and spreadsheet software skills
