Job Description

This position is in support of a Child Development Center associated with NAS Pensacola. Candidates must be local to or willing to relocate to become local and be licensed at the independent level in the state of Florida as a Mental Health Counselor ( LMHC ), Therapist ( LMFT ), or Social Worker ( LCSW ).

Provides the full breadth of Child and Youth Behavioral (CYB) Military Family Life Counseling (MFLC) services to children of all ages of military service members and their families at military installations to include civilian expeditionary work force and their families (when activated). These services may include non-medical counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, consultation with parents, personnel at child development centers, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues affecting children and youth. CYB counselors will be assigned to child development centers, youth programs, summer camps, and on demand assignments. The counselors work closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation.

  • Provides non-medical, short-term, solution focused counseling directly to children and youth of service members. Services include assessment, brief counseling and consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuring linkage as appropriate), and follow-up as indicated.

  • CYB counselors will also have a focus on supporting the staff and personnel of Child Development Centers (CDC), youth programs and summer camps as well as providing parent support, training and guidance.

  • Provides training and health and wellness presentations, participate in health fairs and other base/installation activities focused on children and youth.

  • Enters counselor activity data on a daily basis through smart phone or web application to assure that reporting is accurate from assigned installation while maintaining confidentiality and anonymity of service/family member.

  • Creates a presence on the installation in which the service and family members feel comfortable approaching the counselor and recognize the program to be confidential. Creates a presence in child and youth settings. Is available to children, youth, and staff. When working with children, counselor must abide by line of sight protocol. (Another adult with responsibility for the child must be able to see the counselor and child they are working with at all times.)

  • Establishes and maintains working relationships with community resources focused on children and youth and provides appropriate linkages.

  • Partners with POC to provide CYB services in a manner that addresses the needs of the installation/facility. Develops an effective and professional working relationship with the installation/facility POC.

  • Manages duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol and staffs the cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.

  • Communicates with Regional Supervisors and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations and in facilities to which the counselor is assigned.

  • Responds to critical incidents and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager. The CYB will flex schedule to respond to urgent requests as needed.

  • Participates in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.

Master's Degree from an accredited Graduate Program in a Mental Health related field.

Valid unrestricted counseling license from a State, District of Columbia, US Territory or Commonwealth that grants authority to provide counseling services as an independent practitioner.

For assignments in the 50 states, counselors shall be licensed or certified in the state in which the client is receiving services.

Minimum 2 years of post-masters supervised clinical experience.

Must meet the Magellan MFLC CYB criteria for experience with children and youth and specialty in child and adolescent development/psychology.

Pass a Child National Agency Check and Inquiries (CNACI) Clearance and an Installation Records Check (IRC), Criminal History Background Check and FBI Fingerprints Check.

Understanding, sensitivity and empathy for children, service members and their families. Ability to develop trusting, helping relationships. Ability to work effectively with individuals and families from diverse racial, ethnic, and socioeconomic backgrounds.

Ability to prove US Citizenship and must be fluent in English.

Requires ability to engage and communicate with military members or children as assigned, in order to accomplish job functions, and to respond quickly to emergent situations in any physical location on a military installation and/or within a school setting, which includes the need to traverse short and/or long distances within the base to both indoor and outdoor locations, to maneuver through rugged, outdoor or uneven locations (e.g., steep inclines, stairs, grass), and work in outdoor weather and other military base conditions. Due to the nature of working on military installations or related worksites, counselors may need to comply with various site-specific requirements to work at designated locations. For example, for some assignments, counselors will need to have certain current immunizations or vaccinations and provide record of receipt.

Vehicle Operator's License Requirement: Unless specifically waived by the FEDSIM COR, all contractor personnel providing counseling support at Government locations shall possess a valid U.S. state vehicle operator's license. As a condition for employment under this contract, contractor personnel may be required to pass all tests for and obtain a U.S. military vehicle operator's permit for commercial sedans and similar, for use at Temporary Duty (TDY) locations, if required.

Job Description

This position will provide personal financial services at assigned military installations for 12-month rotations. Primary responsibilities include the full breadth of personal financial counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. Services include education and counseling addressing financial services that may include, but are not limited to, one-on-one counseling, consultation with a commander or with another provider or staff, conducting briefings and presentations, or providing referral resources to a participant outside the context of a counseling session.   • Provides personal financial counseling and management services directly to adults, children, and youth of service members.

  • Provides individualized financial counseling and assistance to service members and families.

  • Coordinates, publicizes and provides a wide variety of Personal Financial Management classes/workshops, e.g., topics across the military lifecycle, including, but not limited to, arrival at first duty station, pre- and post-deployment, and personal and career events outlined in DoDI 1322.34.

  • Responds to requests for age-appropriate classes or seminars to youths and teens as part of on-base education.

  • Possess the skills to effectively utilize virtual counseling or other electronic modes of communication, such as web based, secure online chat, or video-based communications and secure video teleconference sponsored by the customer which may be offered as an adjunct to face-to-face counseling in situations where service members and families are unable to attend in person.

Job Description

Master Resilience Trainer - Performance Experts (MRT-PE) support government client's program at multiple locations. MRT-PEs teach mental skills, resilience and performance enhancement techniques to military Soldiers, Families and DA Civilians. Teaching is conducted in group and individual settings and includes general education in human performance along with personalized training on how to acquire and apply specific mental skills and techniques that cultivate the mental and emotional strength necessary to thrive in an environment of overwhelming demands and persistent conflict. The mental skills and techniques taught by the program include: Building Confidence, Goal Setting, Attention Control, Energy Management, Integrating Imagery and Team Building. Using these principles, MRT-PEs help the clients to become high performing -tactical athletes- and help foster high performing -unit teams- in preparation for, during, and following combat operations. Specifically, MRT-PEs teach performance psychology to further promote excellence and efficiency during physical, technical and tactical training, as well as during the challenges of combat operations. MRT-PEs also provide tailored education to facilitate Wounded Warriors in their transition back to their units or to civilian life. The program teams are comprised of 5-10 MRT-PEs and led by a seasoned Site Manager with prior military experience.

  • Facilitates collaborative learning discussions during table exercises. Helps keep discussions on track, tease out key points from learners as the process unfolds, and keep the exercises on schedule.

  • Attends training exercises and field operations as requested by individual units to serve as a performance enhancement consultant and to coach the clients and leaders on the acquisition of performance psychology techniques and their application to individual military tasks and unit operations.

  • Provides tailored educational programs and workshops to help Families and Civilians living and working in demanding environments achieve success and accomplish personal, professional and family goals.

  • Recommends improvements to all aspects of the program operations.

  • Performs routine program operational duties.

  • Conducts assessment, assists in program evaluation and supports research projects being conducted locally.

  • Assists or provides program overview briefings to VIPs and high-ranking leaders when required.

  • Develops and maintains professional development relating to all aspects of performance enhancement, academic proficiency and military-related knowledge.

Job Description

This position is in support of Camp Blanding Joint Training Center in Starke, Florida and National Guard Drill Practice in St. Augustine, Florida. Candidates must be local to those two installations and licensed at the independent level in the state of Florida as a Social Worker (LCSW), Therapist (LMFT), or Mental Health Counselor (LMHC).

Primary responsibility to provide the full breadth of MFLC (Military Family Life Counseling) counseling services to military service members and their families at military installations. Services include non- medical, short-term, walk-around counseling, training/health and wellness presentations, provision of health fairs, and consultation to installation command regarding behavioral health issues. Works closely with the installation and military branch Points of Contact (POC) to assure that the program is provided within scope and meets the needs of the installation.

  • Provides non-medical, short-term, solution focused, walk-around counseling directly to service and family members. Services include assessment, brief counseling and consultation, action planning, referral to resources (assuring linkage as appropriate), and follow-up as indicated.

  • Delivers training and health and wellness presentations, participates in health fairs and other base/installation activities as requested/directed.

  • Enters counselor activity data on a daily basis through smart phone, or web application, to assure that reporting is accurate from assigned installation, while maintaining client/service member confidentiality.

  • Creates a presence on the installation in which the service and family members feel comfortable approaching the counselor and recognize the program to be confidential. Establishes and maintains working relationships with community resources and provides appropriate linkages for service members and their families. Partners with POC to provide MFLC services in a manner that addresses the needs of the installation. Develops an effective and professional working relationship with the installation POC.

  • Provides MFLC response to critical incidents, surge and on demand events, and special requests as directed by the POC and approved by the Office of Secretary of Defense (OSD) program manager. Counselor will flex schedule to respond to urgent requests as needed.

  • Manages duty to warn and restricted reporting situations according to Department of Defense (DoD) protocol and staffs the cases with Regional Supervisor/Regional Director.

  • Communicates with Regional Supervisors and participates in regular individual and group supervision, sharing information regarding trends and issues on the installations to which the counselor is assigned.

  • Participates in regular in-services/training, Quality Improvement committees or other contract activities as assigned/appropriate.

This position will Lead agile software development efforts as a Technical Leader. This role will respond to audits and contribute to the RFP process. Ensure data governance and best practice is embraced. Responsible for understanding business and IT strategy to align with outcomes. Will be a hands-on Data and Integration Engineer who can write quality code, assist with problem solving, root cause analysis, trouble shooting and coaching. Must understand big picture from a business standpoint within the context of the application. Will define improvements to increase system reliability, security and performance. Perform rich data visualizations and presentations to senior management on value adds. May manage a team.

  • Participate in defining strategic IT objectives and leading subordinates toward that strategic vision for their products.

  • Acts as the primary focal point for both internal and external customers for software development tasks. This includes estimates of feasibility, time and effort of tasks.

  • Provide updates to both the user community and the programmers.

  • Monitor projects, determines potential problems and guides them to a successful completion.

  • Ensure that all work is getting accomplished by making assignments and monitoring tasks. This includes balancing work between programmers, analysts, project managers, supervisors, and managers, and ensuring that the proper policies and procedures are being followed.

  • Assists with budget preparation and management.

  • Mentor and evaluate staff performance. - Continues to work hands-on doing programming and analysis work themselves.

  • Tracks all project requests in functional area and updates status of projects on a regular basis.

  • Assists in estimating work effort associated with new project requests.

  • Assists in planning for the development and support of a functional systems area.

  • Reviews and evaluates work of subordinate staff and prepares performance reports.

  • Participates in planning and budgeting.

Job Description

Master Resilience Trainer - Performance Experts (MRT-PE) support government client's program at multiple locations. MRT-PEs teach mental skills, resilience and performance enhancement techniques to military Soldiers, Families and DA Civilians. Teaching is conducted in group and individual settings and includes general education in human performance along with personalized training on how to acquire and apply specific mental skills and techniques that cultivate the mental and emotional strength necessary to thrive in an environment of overwhelming demands and persistent conflict. The mental skills and techniques taught by the program include: Building Confidence, Goal Setting, Attention Control, Energy Management, Integrating Imagery and Team Building. Using these principles, MRT-PEs help the clients to become high performing -tactical athletes- and help foster high performing -unit teams- in preparation for, during, and following combat operations. Specifically, MRT-PEs teach performance psychology to further promote excellence and efficiency during physical, technical and tactical training, as well as during the challenges of combat operations. MRT-PEs also provide tailored education to facilitate Wounded Warriors in their transition back to their units or to civilian life. The program teams are comprised of 5-10 MRT-PEs and led by a seasoned Site Manager with prior military experience.

  • Facilitates collaborative learning discussions during table exercises. Helps keep discussions on track, tease out key points from learners as the process unfolds, and keep the exercises on schedule.

  • Attends training exercises and field operations as requested by individual units to serve as a performance enhancement consultant and to coach the clients and leaders on the acquisition of performance psychology techniques and their application to individual military tasks and unit operations.

  • Provides tailored educational programs and workshops to help Families and Civilians living and working in demanding environments achieve success and accomplish personal, professional and family goals.

  • Recommends improvements to all aspects of the program operations.

  • Performs routine program operational duties.

  • Conducts assessment, assists in program evaluation and supports research projects being conducted locally.

  • Assists or provides program overview briefings to VIPs and high-ranking leaders when required.

  • Develops and maintains professional development relating to all aspects of performance enhancement, academic proficiency and military-related knowledge.

Full certification within the program.

Master's or Doctoral degree from an accredited college or university in the field of Psychology or Kinesiology with a specialized emphasis in sport and/or performance psychology.

Must be able to operate general office equipment including but not limited to: computer, phones and related media and information devices on most or all workdays.

Ability to communicate and interact with others, both in person and/or by telephone to conduct business.

Experience and ability to work under time pressure.

Working rapidly for long periods to meet deadlines.

Must be able to travel as needed and adhere to AFSC travel policies and procedures.

Must be able to enter private homes that may or may not provide easy access for those with physical disabilities or those recovering from physical rehabilitation or post-recovery mobility.

Position requires ability to transport self from office locations to private homes, other offices and facilities where training and other program activities occur.
