The successful candidate will have five+ years of experience in developing construction work packages for the electric distribution system using various software systems and construction standards.Distribution systems may be in an OH, UG, or URD environment. Project work may include grid hardening and reliability, substation optimization, joint use make ready and street light projects. Work packages will be developed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Computer Aided Design (CAD) tools, Work Management Systems (WMS), and other client systems. The ideal candidate will have the ability to review engineering designs with detailed eye for errors.
As a Distribution Engineering Supervisor, you can expect to support the following activities with minimal oversight:
Lead a team of designers and engineers to develop design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems operating from 4kV through 138kV mostly associated with programmatic work such as overloaded transformers, inspection and maintenance, joint use, and inspection reports.
Act as technical lead for engineers/designers to develop construction work packages included engineering calculations and constructability concern; this will including training junior engineers and designers, and entry-level technicians
Work under Engineering Manager to maintain project scope, schedule and budge
Review work provided by Client and assess requirements of scopes; Communicate work progress, technical issues, and schedule with Client.
Comply with Leidos and Client Safety requirements as well as design and quality expectations.
Develop permitting documents for different AHJ's
Coordinate with permit agencies, right-of-way specialists, system owners, field and forestry personnel, and 3rd party owners for joint-owned poles
Travel to sites/Customer meetings as needed.
Oversee on-boarding, performance, and day to day assignments of direct reports
Perform reviews (QAQC) of work by other engineers for submittal to Clients.
Provide engineering support during construction, including post-construction reviews to ensure all applicable engineering and construction standards have been met.
Basic Qualifications :
Requires BS Degree and a minimum of 5 yearsof prior relevant experience performing electric distribution design engineering for electric utilities; Candidates with a Bachelor's in an engineering discipline will be preferred
Experience with and demonstrated proficiency in NESC Standards,
Previous experience with AutoCAD and/or MicroStation, and Bluebeam and/or Adobe.
Experiencewith distribution design tools such as BOUD, Pole Foreman, Spida-Calc,O-Calc
Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
Ability to demonstrate verbal and written communications skills.
Some previous experience monitoring scopes and tracking work progress.
Ability to utilize a personal vehicle,as some customer-related travel may be anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates
Experience with ESRI and GIS are preferred, but not required
Prior team leadership experience is preferred

Leidos is seeking a Licensed Senior Civil/Structural Engineer with 6+ years of experience with a utility consulting company doing design engineering and reviews. The candidate must have a strong educational background in design of steel structures, concrete structures, geotechnical engineering, and foundations. Experience reviewing substation structure design, rigid bus design, foundation design, oil spill containment design, retaining walls, masonry control shelters, and fire-walls is required. This position will consist of performing design reviews of the aforementioned civil/structural design components in support of the development of bid/construction packages for substation projects.
Candidate will primarily function as a senior engineer performing design reviews on a regular basis, as well as developing junior staff members, and contributing to bids and proposal development. This role will also consist of taking a responsible engineer role on main client projects, overseeing the work and ensuring quality control on design packages. Site-visits to client substation facilities are expected to be part of the work, along with occasional travel for client meetings and industry related events. Experience in front-facing client operations such as lunch and learns, and kick-off meetings if preferred. Candidate must comply with quality control and safe work practices and maintain compliance with project scope, schedule and budget expectations. This position will be a senior member of a design team comprised of engineers, designers, and drafting technicians.
This position will ideally be staffed at the Leidos office in Walled Lake, MI. Hybrid or fully remote may be considered here.

The Digital Modernization sector within Leidos has an opening for a Systems Engineer / Architect for the Global Solution Management - Operations II (GSM-O II) contract. This contract includes the Operations, Sustainment, Maintenance, Repair, and Defense of the Defense Information System Network (DISN) within the DOD Information Network (DODIN) in support of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA). The NISC IV program at Leidos is seeking a developer to support the FAA's System Operations Security Group (AJR-2) by developing and presenting Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and other associated dashboards from beginning to end. The ideal candidate will have experience creating dashboards with tools such as MS Power Automate, MS Teams, Tableau, KSN, and ARCGIS, and be able to unify dashboards containing National Airspace System (NAS) and UAS Safety data.
Primary Responsibilities
You will assist AJR-2 in identifying metrics and key performance indicators that will portray AJR-2's mission accomplishment through dashboards to diverse audiences. Use your skills with existing FAA capabilities such as ARCGIS, Tableau, MS Power Automate, KSN, MS Teams to develop and present dashboards. You may also recommend other capabilities to augment those already extant within FAA. You will assist AJR-2 in automating business processes, to include interviewing business process owners to identify the steps, communications and processes involved, soft-coding the process into a suitable BPM Automation tool (such as MS Power Automate, NINTEX, etc.), testing the process, and then assisting AJR-2 in rolling out the automated version, to include development of landing pages, customer instructions, and documentation of the process. As a member of this highly technical Cyber Threat Hunt team supporting U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), you will be responsible for in-depth technical analysis of network and endpoint logs & activity, executing various types of cyber threat hunts on various agency assets, escalating findings as deemed appropriate, and authoring technical reports summarizing operations and findings in support of the protection of the customers' systems, networks, and assets.
The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Security Operations Center (SOC) is a U.S. Government program responsible to prevent, identify, contain and eradicate cyber threats to CBP networks through monitoring, intrusion detection and protective security services to CBP information systems including local area networks/wide area networks (LAN/WAN), commercial Internet connection, public facing websites, wireless, mobile/cellular, cloud, security devices, servers and workstations. We are seeking a Junior Level CNC Programmer with background in CNC machined components. The ideal candidate will have a basic knowledge in 3-axis and 5-axis machining, lathe, mill-turn operations, and wire EDM. The role involves creating, maintaining, and the continuous improvement of multi-axis CNC programs and associated documentation related to machining of aerospace and defense hardware. The candidate will utilize their machining background to work with other programming and manufacturing engineering team members to develop and implement processes to meet engineering requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
Develop CNC programs for machining of complex aerospace and defense hardware in a variety of materials including, but not limited to, inconel, titanium, alloy steels, stainless steels, aluminums, and composites.
Create complete work package consisting of CNC program, machining operation setup sheets, tool lists and other related documentation for use by machinist.
Provide shop floor support to resolve technical and manufacturing issues.
Assist in developing and managing manufacturing processes for CNC machined components, including 3-axis, 5-axis, lathe, mill-turn operations, and wire EDM.
Support quality and manufacturing engineering groups to perform root cause analysis and develop corrective action plans to reduce/eliminate non-conformances.
Support the design and development tooling and fixtures for manufacturing.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives focusing on safety, quality, cost, and delivery.
Communicate effectively with internal teams, clients, and external parties.
Implement lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Collaborate with project and team leaders to influence solution design and process approaches.
Basic Qualifications
BS degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience in CNC programming or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Basic experience in working with a variety of materials, including plastics, aluminum, steels, stainless steels, and nickel alloys.
Basic understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and practices.
Must be a US Citizen and possess or meet the eligibility to obtain (and be able to maintain) a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with Surfcam & Solidworks.
Experience with Renishaw probing and CNC Macro Programming.
Experience with ERP and MES systems (e.g., Costpoint, Solumina).
