The Integrated Systems Division at Leidos is seeking an experienced Systems Engineer. The successful candidate will provide enterprise-wide systems engineering support to an operational government customer within the Intelligence Community.
Qualified applicants must be self-motivated and able to perform expertly given consistently evolving priorities. The candidate will be required to work independently to collaboratively and constructively influence both internal and external organizations for strategic and operational decisions for program entities, Directorate Customers, and Industry Partners to achieve positive results.
Primary Responsibilities:
Provide Systems Engineering and Project Management expertise ensuring exceptional performance with a focus on service delivery improvements across the Customer's mission IT ecosystem
Develop innovative Systems Engineering solutions to resolve complex problems involving limited and disparate information through application of technical knowledge, conceptualizing, reasoning and interpretation, and integration of best practices
Oversee and manage System Engineering transition requirements of large-scale systems, major system elements, and interfacing systems that are part of complex network environments with geographically distributed components
Implement community policies and guidance consistent with information system requirement analysis, transition planning, and research and assistance
Manage Systems Engineering projects across multiple environments
Basic Qualifications:
U.S. citizen with Current TS/SCI
Requires a BS and 12+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters degree with 10+ years of prior relevant experience (additional experience, education and training may be considered in lieu of degree)
Mission-specific technical knowledge and operations experience
8+ years of experience managing large and complex projects in the customer environment
Proven experience with one or more of the following procedural disciplines in an enterprise environment:
Systems Engineering and Integration
Project Management
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and MS Project software suites
ITSM
Systems Engineering, Integration, and Test (SEIT) using the NSIS process framework
ITIL Framework driven mission operations
Automation
Ability to communicate effectively in technical and non-technical verbal and written correspondence with internal team members, customers, and external stake holders
Ability to work independently or under generalized supervision with strong interpersonal and analytical skills
Must be comfortable working on multiple systems and components simultaneously in various configurations
Effectively plan and prioritize tasking and communicate clearly regarding technical options and trade-offs

Analyze and provide conflated information associated with Foundation feature data listed within the Geographic Names Database (GNDB) and other data repositories, while working closely with geographic names experts. These services will use the FG Modernization Geographic Names Processing System (GNPS), charts, imagery, and geospatial tools to refine geospatial information for use in all types of geospatial products and to respond to user questions. Accurately enter and maintain data to update the GNDB. Geographic names are provided by Toponymists for use by the federal government and other U.S. and foreign users. Their accuracy and reliability are essential to the missions of these users. Research, order, scan, and geo-reference hydrographic and topographic sources, supporting textual sources, and commercial imagery to enhance toponymic and geographic accuracy. Georeferenced maps and imagery must be conflated with the GNDB. Spelling and other metadata shall be verified. Interpret and apply policies governing the treatment of names as well as general guidelines emanating from the BGN, the Department of State (DoS), North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) and other related organizations. Research using ArcGIS Pro and QGIS software as well as common office business software (e.g., word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, and internet browsers) and utilize internet and other general research tools. The National Security Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Release Train Engineer (RTE) to provide technical expertise and leadership to a large cross-functional team within an Intelligence Community agency. Work will be performed in Chantilly Virginia. Successful candidate will provide Project Leadership support within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) software development environment. This role would also manage Engineering managers and senior developers. The candidate should have a background of prior management experience, and working within a Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) execution construct. Ideal candidate has software development and/or application integration project management experience and an understanding of the use of DevSecOps tools and processes to facilitate configuration management, testing, and deployment.
Primary Responsibilities
Managing schedule execution and planning the software / architecture releases for the program
Facilitating cross-team collaboration within program via Scrum of Scrums meeting and other less formal forums in support development, testing, and deployment efforts
Tracking status across program's agile and DevSecOps teams
Briefing customer on development progress throughout program increment cycle
Briefing customer on status of testing, deployment, and release readiness
Work closely with the operations team to coordinate release trains, assess the impact to other DevSecOps processes, and schedule FAT/release timelines for those fixes.
Acquire in-depth understanding of the large complex software system, and assess risk and understand varied customer needs
Leading collection, dissemination, and interpretation of development metrics
Facilitating sprint and program increment demos for internal and external audiences
Managing, Staffing and Hiring Engineering managers and lead developers, focusing on career growth and skillset diversity of the team.
Overseeing Staffing profile of the GEOAxIS program skillset and seniority
Planning budgets and resources to best support the government customer
Creating content for program's website as new releases are deployed to operations
Facilitating Program Increment Planning Events (PIPEs), including logistics and technical preparation
Providing technical execution oversight to the test team throughout each program increment starting with identifying test plans through Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Independent Verification & Validation (IV&V)
Providing leadership and coordination to shepherd baseline releases from development code cutoff to operational deployment completion.
Assessing skillset needs and collaborating with leadership to staff program openings
Participating in proposal efforts including Basis of Estimate (BOE) and technical volume writing
Coaching teams, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Project/Program Leaders in agile practices
Basic Qualifications
BA/BS or equivalent experience and 8+ years of prior relevant experience or Masters with 6+ years of prior relevant experience. 4+ years of experience supervising or leading teams or projects.
TS/SCI with polygrap level security clearance required to be considered.
Previous Release, Project, or Program Management experience
Ability to understand technical concepts and communicate them effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences
Leadership and staffing experience
Experience working with a SAFe Agile software development team, managing project deadlines (ideally in a Scrum Master, Product Owner, or Development Lead role)

The Associate Engineer will assist in the development of work packages for OH, UG, URD, Make Ready and Street Light projects, and use customer GIS and WMS systems such as GE Smallworld, Bentley Expert Designer and Maximo. The candidate may have the opportunity to experience both office and in-the-field settings at customer sites, and will be trained in customer engineering and construction standards. The associate engineer will perform structural analysis, guying calcs, cable pulling calcs, coordination of protective devices, and calculations of electric demand and fault currents. Primary Responsibilities
-Manage files from various sites, processing all clearance activities and accesses for various DOD government agencies.

Primary Responsibilities
Functioning in an electrical environment rated below 600VAC in the following areas:
Control Systems. Enclosure/panel assembly and wiring, especially HMI and PLC controls.
Power Systems. Power quality, medium voltage components with sensitivity to ratings, specification, size and operational characteristics.
Equipment Testing. Knowledgeable working with 480VAC, 120VAC and 24 VDC circuits; electrical components such as transformers, relays, switches, current sensors, motor starters, and meters. Able to understand and complete factory acceptance test procedures.
Field Support. Working in the field to install, start up, troubleshoot and test equipment to assure proper functioning
Mechanical Assembly Skills. Familiarity with small hand tools

Initial training under current lead electrical technician to move into lead role upon his retirement. Training includes understanding electrical systems/instrumentation of Leidos Pittsburgh OEM products, understanding of Quality/ISO requirement for documentation, and the ability to service our facility's shop machinery.
Understanding electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, electrical enclosure/panel fabrication detail drawings including bills -of-material, 4-20mA instrumentation, and PLC controls.
Follow build-to-print drawings for electrical panel fabrication and wiring, cable assembly fabrication, and electrical device assembly and wiring. Must be able to complete and document point-to-point testing.
Participate with engineering to establish realistic equipment delivery schedules and provide direction/support to fellow technicians. Ability to multi-task and meet/exceed delivery dates is a must.

We are seeking an exceptional and motivated Geospatial Data Scientist to work alongside world class engineers and researchers supporting the mission of the U.S. Department of Energy's (DOE) National Energy Technology Laboratory (NETL) in Morgantown, WV or Albany, OR. This work will involve a multi-disciplinary, scientific, and technically oriented national laboratory team, with participation alongside other data scientists, engineers, geologists, and computer scientists that produces technological solutions for America's energy challenges.
Location: This position is based at the NETL lab in Albany, OR or Morgantown, WV. Only candidates near (or willing to relocate to) the Albany, OR and/or Morgantown, WV area will be considered.
The successful candidate will conduct high-impact research focused on accelerating carbon management, mitigating methane emissions, characterizing and evaluating energy infrastructure, and critical minerals.
Accelerating Carbon Management - Current carbon transport and storage efforts are focused on developing federated, dynamic databases and machine learning informed, geospatial data-driven tools to inform safe injection and transport operations for CO2 across the country.
Mitigating Methane Emissions - Current methane mitigation efforts are focused on identifying and characterizing marginal, orphaned, and undocumented wellbore infrastructure through the development of national databases comprised of federal, state, and tribal resources, standardized for analysis.
Evaluating Energy Infrastructure - Current energy infrastructure integrity efforts are focused on evaluating oil and gas transport and storage infrastructure using stressors spanning the natural-engineered system (e.g., land cover, meteorological data, connected infrastructure) at a national or regional spatial scale, to inform multiple machine learning models to inform local predictions.
Critical Minerals - Current Critical Minerals efforts are focused on developing processes and technologies that enable the commercial production of critical minerals from unconventional sources in a cost effective, environmentally neutral, and sustainable way. Specifically, project goals are to identify critical mineral reserves in the US, develop and test new and advancing technologies to extract and concentrate critical minerals from these sources, use modeling and analysis to assist in rapid process optimization for technology commercialization.

Primary Responsibilities:
Support the identification, acquisition, processing, and integration of non-spatial and spatial data using Geographic Information System (GIS) software and Python scripting.
Provide advanced Python scripting support (i.e. develop new scripts, de-bug, expand existing scripts).
Identify credible data sources through extensive literature reviews and online research, then acquire and process data for further analytics.
Support quality assurance and control of geospatial data products and associated metadata prior to public release following FAIR Principles.
Support scientific, spatial, and statistical analytics, as well as utilize appropriate artificial intelligence and machine learning algorithms to support energy research.
Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team, including geologists, geographers, chemists, computer scientists, environmental scientists, and other researchers to assist each other in accomplishing project related tasks.
Build and maintain relationships with internal and external clients.
Lead in the writing of science-based methods, results, and data interpretations for publications in high quality, scientific peer-reviewed journals, and technical reports.
Develop and present results for oral presentations to staff, stakeholders, and at professional conferences.
Provide weekly and monthly technical updates to research team members and project management.
Provide leadership and expertise on projects including delegation to team members and communication of project milestone status to management.
Capable of working independently to achieve day-to-day objectives.
Required Education, Experience & Other:
Master's degree in Geography, Environmental Sciences, Data Science, Petroleum Engineering, or related field. (PhD preferred)
2+ years relevant work experience programming in Python for non-spatial and spatial data acquisition, processing, and analytics.
Proficient in non-spatial and spatial data management, handling, and analytics using GIS software, PostgreSQL, and Python libraries (e.g., arcpy, gdal, pandas).
Advanced Python skills with ability to program new scripts and modify existing scripts.
Expert in ESRI products (i.e., ArcGIS Pro, ArcEnterprise).
Experience selecting and applying appropriate spatial and statistical analysis, as well as artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms.
Experienced in data analysis, report development, scientific writing, and presentation of results.
Experience in communicating science to a range of audiences (e.g., academic conference, technical audience, or high-level management).
Experience identifying, acquiring, and processing credible data (including tabular and spatial data) and metadata from online sources.
Experience collaborating on a dynamic team.
Leadership skills coordinating multiple teams and projects.
Must be able to meet the requirements for gaining access to work on the NETL campus.

Preferred Qualifications:
Expertise with artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) algorithms for spatial and statistical analysis.
Experience working with energy regulator and infrastructure datasets including production and service records, such as permitting, inspection, and maintenance records.
Advanced knowledge and experience related to energy infrastructure (e.g., wells, pipelines).
Experience developing ESRI Web Applications, including Experience Builder and Dashboards.
Experience working for a U.S. national laboratory or as a research site-support contractor.
Salary Range for this position: $95K to $110K
