Overview

At Office Depot Inc., the Services Advisor is a part-time role, providing -total solutions- to our customers encompassing Technology, Services, Furniture and Print offerings. The associate will quickly build and maintain customer relationships and become a trusted advisor by utilizing training of Technology products/services and print offerings.

The Services Advisor will demonstrate a passion for the brand, technology products, furniture, print, and other services/products offered to our customers. The Services Advisor will utilize Office Depot Inc.'s proven sales principles to proactively engage customers, to drive the sales of our total offerings, and properly assess customer needs to ensure satisfaction in every interaction.

The essential functions of this position may require you to consent to periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a third-party.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Provides exceptional customer service by educating customers about Office Depot products and services. Effectively utilizes communication tools to request assistance anywhere on the sales floor, and to coordinate the appropriate service, and customer engagement throughout the store. Performs duties such as cashier, logistics support, stocking, restocking, down stocking, inventory control, cleaning the store and protecting company assets. Ensures the completion of damaged and defective/buy back merchandise through the RCC process.

  • When not assisting customers, performs merchandise-related activities to ensure merchandise presentation guidelines are met through implementing plan-o-gram changes and updates, merchandise set and price changes. Sets weekly ads, including price changes, and any associated updates to store signage.

  • Proactively acknowledges and engages every customer to ensure a positive customer experience. Utilizes and understands the selling program to promote the sale of the best solution as well as additional product and/or services solutions. Maintains awareness of planned advertisements and promotions.

  • Able to evaluate the customer's needs to determine what additional offerings or services that a customer may need in addition to determining if a customer should be referred to the Contract Sales organization.

  • Works to continually develop personal selling skills and specialized product knowledge. Drives Technology, Tech Services, Furniture and Print sales by supporting all related current programs, new product launches and special initiatives.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and practices; and supports company loss prevention efforts.

  • Successful completion of Tech, Print, and other applicable training and continued education in these areas is expected, up to and including designated certifications, if required.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred

  • Minimum 1 year experience in related field

  • 2 Years Sales and/or Customer Services experience preferred

  • Must possess the ability to use technology and print equipment applicable to role, and to access information necessary to complete daily responsibilities

  • Must possess ability to process information/merchandise through POS register system

  • Basic computer skills

  • Must possess strong selling skills

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Description

Overview

The Delivery Driver is responsible for delivering customer orders in a productive, time sensitive and customer sensitive manner on a daily basis. This position is responsible for demonstrating safety, quality, and operational expertise. This position is responsible for proficiently performing at least two delivery related activities (e.g. multiple route knowledge, demonstrated expertise in delivery process and procedures, ability to train associates in delivery functions, LEAN captain, Safety committee, etc).

Primary Responsibilities

- Load, unload and secure product; to ensure customers receive clean and damage free merchandise

- Delivers product to customer locations meeting established delivery goals. Collect and track customer returns within a specified time frame.

- Operate delivery vehicles in a safe and lawful manner. Responsible for the vehicle and its contents

- Complete daily route and all appropriate paperwork. Communicate obstacles in Tier meeting that prohibit us from meeting our established goals.

- Complete daily pre and post trip checklist

- Actively seek to support implementation of and contribute ideas and suggestions for continuous improvement to the delivery processes.

- Communicate customer feedback to sales and/or supervisory personnel. Contribute ideas and suggestions for improvement utilizing LEAN practices

- May be assigned to participate on LEAN or Safety committees

Qualifications

- High School diploma or equivalent education preferred

- Minimum 2 years experience in related field

- Minimum of five years of commercial driving experience, with experience in the delivery of small packages preferred. Depending on state CDL may be required.

- Previous Office Depot experience a plus

- Previous customer service experience preferred

- Experience in the use of pallet jacks, hand trucks and forklift preferred

- Valid driver's license

- Accident free driving record reflected during a rolling 36-month average

- Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL), only required for operating delivery vehicle exceeding 26,000 lb. Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW)

- Department of Transportation (DOT) qualification

- Experience using POD or tablet device in the scanning of customer products.

- Familiarity with scanner and GIS devices preferred.

- Ability to communicate both verbally and in writing, using the English language (English competency)

- Basic product knowledge

- Knowledge of operation of power/mobile equipment

- Ability to understand addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division

- Geographical knowledge of the delivery service area

- Ability to read and understand a map

- Ability to up sell

- Ability to transport single cartons up to 75 pounds as needed

Overview

At Office Depot and Office Max, every leader is responsible for growing total sales and services within the location. The Print and Client Services Supervisor is a full-time role and the person in this position will have ownership of the Print and Client Services area while simultaneously collaborating with the management team to drive customer satisfaction, community outreach and in store events for small and medium business. S/he is expected to quickly build ongoing client centric relationships and become a trusted expert by utilizing Office Depot's advanced selling skills and certification programs, and product knowledge in Print and Services and throughout the store to meet clients' needs.

Is responsible for overseeing the daily activities of print services: providing guidance, training and direction within the Print area to ensure clients experience the highest level of service.

Print and Client Services Supervisor will also be a 'Key Carrier', and while functioning in this role, will be considered the Client Engagement Lead. Primary Key Performance Indicator (KPI) is customer satisfaction and related results, such as Net Promoter Score (NPS). Demonstrates a passion for the brand, print services and solutions, and other products and services offered to our customers.

The Print and Client Services Supervisor will utilize the Company's proven sales principles and take the opportunity to develop Sales Advisors, Service Advisors and Solutions Advisors with these same principles. The essential functions of this position may require you to consent to periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a third-party.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversees the Print function to ensure efficient operation while driving overall store sales.

  • Operates and trains associates on all equipment within the Print Services area to maintain efficient production and ensure client orders are completed correctly and on-time, to include determining if RPC (Regional Print Center) should be used, per established guidelines.

  • Effectively utilizes communication tools to request assistance within the Print Services area, and to coordinate the appropriate service for all customers throughout the store.

  • Responsibilities as an External Key Carrier include but are not limited to ensuring the safety and security of the building and associates during the absence of the management team. Performing opening or closing responsibilities. This includes driving awareness of key performance indicators, providing leadership to improve results, activation/deactivation of the store's alarm system, and processes for opening or closing the store.

  • Routinely reviews cash handling, cashier and merchandise error logs, register voids, tax exemption and all related cash office audits.

  • Consistently maintains store and print department appearance to company guidelines and keeps a neat, clean, well-stocked environment. Adheres to all standards related to signage labeling and merchandise presentation.

  • Drives positive customer satisfaction levels and provides effective training to associates to enhance the customer experience. Collaborates on community outreach initiatives and coordinating in store events with small and medium businesses to increase foot traffic and client/customer retention.

  • Works to continually develop personal selling skills and product knowledge through sales and service tools provided.

  • Ensures compliance with company policies, procedures and practices; and supports the company's loss prevention efforts

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent education preferred

  • Minimum 3 year experience in related field

  • Experience and/or training in related field

  • Experience in Print Center Operations preferred

  • Must be the subject matter expert in the Print Services area

  • Must possess advanced selling skills

  • Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills, which are necessary to establish a selling relationship with customers

  • Must be adaptable to a changing environment

  • Must be able to coach and train others in a professional environment

  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Must possess the ability to use technology applicable to role, and to access information necessary to complete daily responsibilities

  • Must possess ability to process information/merchandise through POS register system
