Team or Function Overview The Multi-Craft Technician will interact extensively with the Plant Engineer and Production Manager and Maintenance teams to enhance the day-to-day operations of the plant. Multicraft Technicians support the RAS (Recycle Asphalt Shingle) operation and provides all day-to-day maintenance support for the plant.
Essential Duties
Specific responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Multicraft maintenance duties with a strong skill set in electrical.
Familiar with all test equipment and common devices both mechanical and electrical.
Ensure both preventative and reactive repairs and maintenance tasks are completed in a timely manner to ensure continuous operation of RAS line
Enter and update maintenance records in Maximo to accurately record hours worked, job completed and maintain correct spare part inventory
Communicate with other production operators and leaders in a positive manner
Complete and follow all required permits for the type of work being performed
Must be willing to continue training and stay current on GAF's HMI, PLC and troubleshooting requirements
Assist in setting the daily priorities and direction for the group.
This individual will interact extensively to enhance the day-to-day operations of the plant.
Tests and puts into service all electrical equipment that has been repaired, moved or recently installed; wires and maintains all buildings and structures including lighting fixtures; and troubleshoots all primary III phase (up to 480v) and secondary electrical systems and control circuits.
Participates in diagnosis of actual or potential problems and in the necessary repairs.
Participates in test runs of new and repaired machinery, lubricates and performs preventative maintenance on all equipment and performs piping work such as fitting and bending.
TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS
Interprets all electrical schematics and prints, and recommends updates to prints to reflect any modifications to equipment and maintains, installs or repairs all communication cables or wiring.
Have operating knowledge in the plant to include water, oil, compressed air, and fire protection systems.
Pneumatics and Hydraulics
Fabricates parts as required using common hand and machine tools, makes power cable splices and works in the vicinity of energized electrical components.
Tools: Have good working knowledge of mechanical tools, hand, battery operated, and electric driven and safely use the correct tool for each job.
Commitment to produce and maintain a safe work environment for self and team and report and correct all deficiencies hindering that commitment.
Knowledge of the National Electric Code
Knowledge of electrical theoretical basics to include Ohm's law, AC and DC motors, semiconductors, and combinational logic
Proficient PC/Google Workspace
Knowledge of and installation/problem solving experience with; common switches and sensors such as proximity, photoelectric, and mechanically activated devices
Pressure and differential pressure switches
Electric and pneumatic valve actuators
Pressure and level sensors in process applications
RTDs, thermocouples, and electric transmitters
Handheld electric metering equipment (multimeter, ammeter, frequency meter)
AC fixed speed motors (single and 3 phase), including motor control circuits
AC and DC variable speed drives in standalone and system-line drive applications
Common industrial lighting
480, 240, and 120V power equipment, including transformers, circuit breakers, and MCPs with ratings and applications
Proficient documentation abilities
Physical Demands
Must also be able to meet the minimum requirements below, with or without reasonable accommodation:
Able to lift and handle 10 to 50 pounds.
Ability to climb and work at elevated heights.
Under This Roof, We Require
Minimum five (5) years electrical/electronic education and/ or equivalent industrial experience
Knowledge of NFPA70E Electrical/ Arc Flash Safety principles
Ability to travel up to 25% for the first 6 months

RSLogix experience
Familiarity with Allen Bradley PLC preferred
Knowledge of Industrial Network protocols (Ethernet, Controlnet)
