About the Role

We are looking for a hardworking, innovative and collaborative Sr Solutions Manager, HR Technology to join our team supporting Payroll configuration. In this role, you will support the Workday Payroll solution in the US and the HCM/Core payroll setup for global payroll integrations. The ideal candidate will be proficient in Workday Payroll for US, including hands-on configuration experience in a large-scale global environment. Proficiency in Workday Time Tracking and/or Workday Absence would be a major bonus! The successful candidate must possess excellent problem-solving and analytical skills while demonstrating impeccable communication skills. You should be detail oriented, self-motivated, proactive, results-oriented and able to successfully partner with key stakeholders, project team members, and fellow HR Tech team members. This role can be 100% remote from anywhere in the U.S.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, architect, troubleshoot and maintain Workday HCM and Payroll configurations in support of Workday Payroll in the US and global payroll sent to 3rd party vendors via integrations.

  • Support payroll-impacting configuration changes made across other HR Tech workstreams including core HCM, Compensation, Advanced Comp, Benefits, Absence, etc. and integrations with other systems such as Oracle ERP.

  • Experience leading / managing future state design and process improvement projects focused on HCM and Payroll business functions.

  • Own and design the payroll system requirements and supporting business process changes by conducting gap analysis between business needs and Workday capabilities, performing regression testing where appropriate and recommending solutions or enhancements.

  • Act as a project manager over complex Workday HCM and payroll implementation(s) and oversight of end-to-end support of testing including documenting test plan, conducting unit testing, facilitating User Acceptance Testing and regression testing

  • Serve as workstream lead for Workday upgrades - collaborate with other HR functions/WD Workstream Owners to plan for upgrade, build test scripts/UAT plans, testing/validation and deployment for new functionality

  • Work with M&A Lead to support new business acquisitions and ensure successful integration into payroll system

  • Manage the day-to-day workflows and operation of case queue coming through ServiceNow HRSD

  • Experience leading and performing Workday application control reviews and risk assessments to ensure compliance with deep knowledge of segregation of duties concepts, sensitive access, and experience in user access security across Payroll SKU

  • Identify process and infrastructure needs to support change and consider broad range of internal/external factors when making decisions

  • Partner with the Payroll Team on system and process improvements to streamline payroll operations

  • Create/maintain documentations for support processes that impact Workday operations; ensure job aids and SOPs on system configuration and business process administration within Workday Payroll area are up to date

About You

  • Subject matter expert in Payroll system administration

  • Minimum of 5+ years of experience in HRIS/payroll administration, with a focus on configuring and maintaining payroll systems (3+ years of Workday Payroll for US experience is required).

  • 6+ years payroll experience

  • 4+ years of Workday payroll work experience

  • Workday Payroll implementation experience leading Workday payroll implementation projects within large matrix enterprise

  • Knowledge in requirements gathering, designing, prototyping and testing of Workday Payroll solutions according to specs

  • Advanced knowledge in Workday payroll configuration

  • Advanced knowledge in creation and maintenance of Workday earning and deduction codes

  • Advanced knowledge with pay component related calculations (Conditional, Logic, Instance Set, Aggregate, Comparison, etc.)

  • Proficient with Workday tax configuration

  • Proficient with Workday year-end tasks and processing

  • Proficient with Workday Payroll Accounting Configuration

  • Proficient in EIB processing and troubleshooting

  • Proficient in Excel

  • Proficient in Workday reporting for Payroll/ Financial Accounting (Composite, Matrix, Advanced Reports)

  • Basic/Intermediate integration knowledge to help troubleshoot errors & provide requirements

  • Basic understanding of Workday Security as it relates to the Payroll module.

  • Experience in payroll processing lifecycle within Workday (pay inputs, calculations, retro processing, complete, settlement) and pay calculation troubleshooting

  • Basic understanding Workday's business process configuration

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to frequent change

  • Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Be a problem solver! You must be able to find solutions to difficult problems that arise in Workday with ample research skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience launching, configuring and maintaining Workday (required); with deep experience in Payroll and supporting experience

  • Proven experience in configuring and troubleshooting payroll setups in Workday, including tax rate updates, W2 corrections, and integrations with third-party systems (e.g., ADP).

  • Workday Pro Payroll Certification (highly desirable)

  • Global Payroll Experience

Pay Range: $135,000-$165,000 + bonus potential
