CDM Smith is pursuing a Program Manager to join our established team of accomplished professionals. The position includes serving in an Owner's representative or advisory program management role with a strong emphasis on civil infrastructure and public infrastructure programs. As a member of our team, this individual will provide technical expertise to the firm, and leadership to a staff of program representatives and project support staff. The individual will plan, direct, and coordinate projects including evaluating, assessingassessing, and developing recommendations for the planning, design, construction, operations and maintenance function of client facilities.

This position is located in the Southeast region, with a strong preference in Florida.

Responsibilities:

  • Working in alignment with practice leaders, sales leaders, project managers and project technical leads to manage and direct the CDM Smith team including sub-consultants and contractors.

  • Developing program standards for client organizations.

  • Developing contract and amendment language. Advising project teams and assisting Client Service Leaders in negotiation of contracts and amendments.

  • Ensuring adherence to strategic direction and framework of the client's program.

  • Adhering to discipline, quality, and health- and- safety standards.

  • Providing guidance and expertise to project teams.

  • Providing leadership and assisting with identifying cost-effective ways to procure new services.

  • Supports proposal development and proposal managers by developing budget, scope and schedules for proposals.

  • Effectively cooperating, communicating, and collaborating with all stakeholders.

  • Providing regular technical and financial reporting to the client, funding, and regulatory agencies, and to CDM Smith internally.

  • Managing staff in developing program standards (program controls and systems, procurement, permitting, cost estimating, document management, risk management).

  • Overseeing design and construction.

  • Coordinating with lead practitioners, quality managers, and key technical specialists.

  • Identifying project, program management, construction management and/or design-build opportunities with existing clients that may lead to other opportunities for CDM Smith.

  • Managing and developing staff by providing regular feedback and coaching.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree.

-15 years of related experience.

  • Domestic and/or international travel may be required.

  • The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands.

  • Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a Business, Engineering, or technical discipline; MBA/MA degree strongly preferred.

  • 10 years of leadership experience in project management, program management, construction management and/or design-build management.

  • Demonstrable experience with program management and delivery of capital projects.

  • Must have technical problem-solving skills at the program level.

  • Must have working knowledge of program and project risk management concepts and tools.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.

  • P.E. registration preferred.

Skills and Abilities:

Expert knowledge of corporate governance practices, organization design principles, accounting principles, finance, supply chain management, and organization management. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Ability to understand highly complex technical, professional and business materials.

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
