Job Summary: We are currently seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Software Operations and Maintenance Engineer to guide our talented team in providing comprehensive operations and maintenance support for our deployed software suites. The successful candidate will be pivotal in steering research, design, and development initiatives for both computer and network software, along with specialized utility programs. With a strong foundation in computer science principles, engineering practices, and mathematical analysis, this role requires a strategic thinker who can address user requirements through innovative software solutions.
The Lead Software Engineer will:
Spearhead a team dedicated to the operations and maintenance of software deployments, ensuring the provision of efficient and effective support.
Conduct thorough research and employ innovative design methodologies to craft and refine computer software and network programs.
Oversee the evolution of software functionalities to better meet user demands, ensuring enhancements are in line with the latest technological advancements.
Collaborate closely with hardware engineers to ensure seamless integration between hardware and software systems, yielding optimized overall functionality.
Define and refine specifications and performance benchmarks, guaranteeing the delivery of superior software solutions.
Engage in rigorous analysis of user needs, devising tailored software solutions that address these requirements effectively and efficiently.
Manage and maintain databases within designated application areas, ensuring data integrity, security, and accessibility.
Either independently or in coordination with a team, guide database development, focusing on structure, troubleshooting, and performance optimization.
Lead the exploration and implementation of new products, as well as the significant enhancements of existing offerings.
Oversee all stages of product testing and integration, from initial concept to final release, ensuring adherence to industry standards and program objectives.
Qualifications
Experience Requirements:
- Overall Experience : Candidates must bring a minimum of eight (8) years of professional experience in the software development field & hold a Bachelor's degree.
Additional years of experience can be considered in lieu of degree
- Technical Proficiency : Out of the required experience, candidates should have at least two (2) years of hands-on coding using C++, C#, Java, and JavaScript.
Agile Methodology : A minimum of five (5) years should involve developing software within agile project environments, specifically on teams composed of at least ten members (two teams of five or more).
Leadership Experience : Candidates should also possess at least five (5) years of experience in leading significant software development efforts comparable in scope to those outlined in the Task Order (TO). Note that the aforementioned experience criteria can overlap and be fulfilled simultaneously.
- Certification Requirements:
Candidates must hold a Certified Secure Software Lifecycle Professional (CSSLP) certification issued by the International Information System Security Certification Consortium (ISC).
- Required Clearance:
Must hold an active Secret clearance
