Full Time- Salaried
The Area Manager (AM) is responsible for ensuring reliable and accurate inventory counts in support of and at the direction of the District Manager. This role plans and maps out inventory events and processes to ensure all Perfect Event standards are met. The AM is responsible for coordinating and executing on-site inventory events and serves as the point person for the Inventory Associates during a given event. The AM directs other employees through their daily tasks and interacts with customers to make sure that they are receiving exceptional service. The AM assists in interviewing, hiring, and training associates to build capacity. The AM plays a critical part in retention and stability within the hourly workforce-living the example of our SPIRIT values. The AM must assist in the ownership of delivering an exceptional final product to the customer.
Essential Responsibilities:
Demonstrates safe behaviors at all times and ensures the safety of all associates
Successfully completes all inventory pre-planning tasks to ensure operational excellence
Leads on-site inventories at various customer locations, utilizing standardized processes to achieve operational excellence (accuracy, productivity, efficiency, on-time completion, etc.)
Manages inventory flow plans, effectively directs and guides Inventory Associates and Inventory Supervisors during the inventory process
Assists with the planning and execution of District travel and equipment logistics per leadership
Assists with candidate flow, hiring, development, training, onboarding, and retention of employees
Consistently works to build bench strength in their District through high quality mentoring, training, development and coaching of hourly employees
Exhibits exemplary customer service, including but not limited to, professional and timely communication, sense of urgency, and ensuring operational excellence
Maintains positive relationships with customer management and employees, always enhancing our reputation in the marketplace
Ensures Inventory Associates and Inventory Supervisors are educated on event procedures and have a path for continuous development
Oversees execution of inventories; ensures accuracy, productivity, efficiency, and on-time completion objectives are met for each inventory performed
Takes ownership for compliance with all Company policies, procedures, and initiatives
Builds bench strength in the District by identifying talent and providing training and feedback to develop Supervisors, Pharmacy Inventory Associates, Drivers
Actively participates in weekly leadership meetings
Assists leadership with the assessment and development of hourly employees, through communication, engagement and coaching
Leads by example at all times; ensures all associates are demonstrating SPIRIT values at all times
Supports District and Regional Leadership in additional tasks that include, but are not limited to: recruitment, training, job fairs, equipment acquisition, vehicle maintenance, etc.
Identifies and develops, through coaching and counseling, high-potential employees to build organizational bench-strength, including identifying and/or recommending candidates for promotion
Qualifications
Required Qualifications & Skills:
Associate's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education
A minimum of five (5) years of experience in an Inventory role, or similar retail position, that exhibits professionalism, sense of urgency, soft skills, and the strong ability to work with others
Strong people and team management skills with a proven track record of recruiting, hiring, and developing talent for future bench strength
Strong motivation to be successful in honoring all commitments to our customers and employees, through excellent service and conflict resolution skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Strong time-management skills
Ability to work flexible schedules with varying hours in support of the District and customer commitments and in various environments such as warehouses, outside industries, etc.
Exhibits strong work-ethic while focusing on team-oriented goals and collaboration in a fast-paced environment
Must be willing to submit to a pre-employment investigative consumer report, pre-employment drug screening and/or MVR check
A valid driver's license, proof of auto insurance, and/or meeting the Fleet driver requirements may be required depending on the District or Region needs
Working Conditions:
This position requires frequent travel via automobile and air and the ability to adapt to changing working conditions, such as standing and sitting for long periods of time, as well as frequent walking. The ability to use both hands and wrists for repetitive motions; the ability to frequently be in low level positions, such as squatting, kneeling, or crouching; the ability to use a ladder Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. Must be able to work 10-12 hour shifts regularly. Frequent travel is required via plane or automobile including overnight stays (100% of the time).
