IT SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR

SpaceX is looking for an Atlassian IT Systems Administrator to participate in driving the adoption, maintenance, and expansion of Atlassian tools at SpaceX. We are heavy users of Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and OpsGenie. Candidates should have experience in administering complex environments, migrating systems from other tools to the Atlassian product suite, and building high-quality system in support of business operations. You'll have the opportunity to use your skills to build systems that will support rocket and spacecraft development and human spaceflight! The person in this position should have strong overall technical skills, excellent customer service skills, and superior organizational and prioritization management skills. The ideal candidate will be flexible and flourish in a fast-paced and challenging environment.

RESPONSIBILITES:

  • Design and support custom Jira workflows, fields, dashboards, and reports

  • Work closely with IT systems and database teams to assure administration of the Linux servers and MS-SQL environments supporting the Atlassian tools

  • Support Jira software, Jira service management, and Confluence administration including creation and management of custom complex projects, workflows, schemes, custom fields, and security schemes

  • Establish and promote best practices for the usage of Atlassian tools

  • Serve as one of the subject matter experts as well as develop, test and deploy upgrades for Jira, Jira service management, and Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and OpsGenie

  • Meet with stakeholders to perform requirements gathering, business process workflows, and process improvements for new and existing projects and configuration

  • Create and maintain detail technical and user facing documentation

  • Help guide and maintain the organization of data in Atlassian tools

  • Support and resolve issues with Atlassian Suite

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in computer science, engineering, IT, information systems, math, physics, or other technical discipline with 2+ years of systems administration experience; OR 5+ years of systems administration experience without a degree

  • 2+ years of experience with Jira software, Jira service management, and Confluence (on prem or cloud)

  • Scripting experience with Groovy, Python, or Java

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Bamboo, and OpsGenie administration experience

  • Excellent understanding of Jira workflows, schemes, and existing plugins in the Atlassian marketplace

  • Experience customizing and working with Jira via scripting languages or system customizations

  • Familiarity with database and MS-SQL administration, and demonstrated competency in writing SQL queries

  • Comfortable working with mission critical and sensitive systems, with a sense of urgency appropriate to the responsibilities

  • Excellent communications skills with the ability to communicate with internal/external customers, vendors, management etc. in both formal and informal situations

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Willing to work extended hours or weekends as necessary

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:

Pay Range:

IT Systems Administrator: $85,000.00-$115,000.00/per year

Your actual level and base salary will be determined on a case-by-case basis and may vary based on the following considerations: job-related knowledge and skills, education, and experience.

Base salary is just one part of your total rewards package at SpaceX.
