PRACTICE SPECIFICS:
The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients ranging in age from adolescent to elderly. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others.
Weight Management is a multidisciplinary department that looks to treat patients of size through a variety of ways including medical and surgical paths. The Weight Management team is made up of CMAs, RNs, advanced practice clinicians, physicians, bariatric surgeons, Dietitians, PTs and Behavioral Health specialists. We are a growing department that stresses preventable health and support patients in their personal journey to make healthy choices that fit their lifestyle. The person filling this role will have their own patient base practicing with a physician as well as independently.
Anticipated Schedule:Monday - Friday: 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. - 100% in a clinic setting seeing adults in an outpatient capacity.EDUCATION:
Master's or Doctorate degree in Nursing or Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program
LICENSURE/CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:
Current licensure as a registered nurse in Minnesota (if applicable) Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Minnesota Current certification in CPR National certification, in applicable area Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice
