Amazon seeks a Senior Financial Analyst to be a key member in our Device Science Optimization (DSO) team. This role will have heavy impact and high visibility to essential, business-critical processes, and will require interactions with managers and senior managers within DSO Finance. This is an exciting opportunity to join one of the most innovative and fastest growing businesses of Amazon, in a role where you will have regular interaction with executives and various business units across the organization.

The successful candidate will be a self-starter with strong interpersonal and communication skills, data mining and modeling capabilities, keen attention to detail, sound logical reasoning, and the ability to manage multiple projects effectively.

Key job responsibilities

  • Present financial summaries and business insights to senior management

  • Track initiatives that span multiple business functions

  • Derive meaningful insights and recommendations from large data sets

  • Provide short and long-term financial planning & analysis for team operating expenses

  • Create and implement scalable mechanisms over various financial projects

  • Develop scalable processes to drive the overall business goals by closely managing business financials

  • Manage and develop scalable financial tools and reports that align and simplify monthly business reviews, annual planning and forecasting exercises

  • Build financial models, perform project based analyses, and present findings to management

Basic Qualifications

  • 3+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, economics, or a related analytical field (e.g., engineering, math, computer science)

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience

  • MBA, or CPA

  • Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards)

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $56,900/year in our lowest geographic market up to $128,800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
