What does this role look like?

- Implement Prime contract strategies consistent with LM Space Business Area and LOB strategic imperatives.

- Provide highly visible leadership to approximately 30 contract personnel across numerous geographic locations to ensure the team develops flexible contracting strategies to support the needs of the LOB and LM Space goals.

- Partner with LOB and Space functional organizations to ensure contracting activities are vetted across multiple stakeholders including Legal, Supply Chain, Operations, Finance, Controller, and Compliance functions.

- Ensure each contract and proposal action is reviewed and approved consistent with the Delegation of Authority and that all documentation is complete per command media/policy.

- Develop, support, and maintain customer relationships to ensure positive and constructive interactions.

- Act as an advocate for diversity and inclusion and create opportunities for positive employee engagement.

- Manage and provide leadership for activities associated with contract management responsibilities including but not limited to:

o Proposal preparation and contract negotiations

o Assessment of terms and conditions to ensure the corporation is protected from unusual risk while sustaining or improving the future financial goals

o Representing complex contracting issues to executive leadership

o Coordinate and drive to resolution key business issues with legal, risk management, corporate contracts and LM Space leadership

o Contract closeouts and interface with Supply Chain leadership to ensure relevant contracting requirements are communicated and incorporated.

Although this position does support some teleworking; the preferred candidate will be located near our Lockheed Martin Space facility in either:

- Denver, CO,

- Herndon, VA

- Valley Forge, PA

- Sunnyvale, CA, or

- Pleasanton, CA

and be expected to work in the office as needed and as appropriate.

Basic Qualifications:

To be successful, you will need to possess these basic qualifications:

- Bachelor's degree from an accredited college, or equivalent experience/combined education

- Extensive US Government (USG) customer interface with prime or sub-contracting experience across large programs.

- Leadership of prime contracts or subcontracts organizations with the ability to identify strategic prime contracting solutions that support LOB goals, initiatives, and customer collaboration.

- Demonstrated Leadership experience supervising diverse teams and senior leaders, ability to demonstrate Full Spectrum Leadership competencies.

- Significant experience in the drafting or interpretation of terms or policies, mentoring staff in contract negotiation and administration practices, and advocating for strategic business approaches as it relates to USG, commercial and international contracts with a strong understanding of the FAR and DFAR.

- Demonstrated ability to financially analyze terms and conditions and develop a coordinated business case approach to negotiations.

- Requires a valid US Passport and ability to travel internationally for extended periods to team and customer locations.

- You will need to be a US Citizen, andcurrently possess and be able to maintain a US DoD TOP SECRET clearance,to support this government contract, as well as successfully pass a drug and background check, in order to meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.

Desired Skills:

To be successful, ideally, you should also have:

- Master's degree or higher,

- NCMA Certification,

- Experience working on strategic complex prime contract issues with both USG, international, and commercial customers,

- Negotiating and executing large dollar, complex International Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) contracts, Joint Ventures, and Offset/Industrialization Agreements

- Proven exceptional strategic communication skills, both written, verbal, and presentation, to effectively communicate business cases to all levels of peers, suppliers, as well as program and executive management, with an ability to persuade and motivate action.

- Experience managing geographically dispersed teams.

- Top Secret Security Clearance w/ recent (5yr) polygraph

- Demonstrated experience interfacing with Executive Leadership with the ability to communicate effectively and succinctly complex contractual issues at an Executive level

- The S&W/CTA portfolio and associated leadership team is primarily based at our Sunnyvale, CA facility, with a smaller team located at the Denver (Littleton) facility. The preference will be for this role to be located at either of these Lockheed Martin Space facilities with a requirement to spend a significant amount of time at the Sunnyvale site.

- All other locations listed or remote/telework are possible options, however, candidates are encouraged to consider potentially >50% travel expectations and significant time zone differences needed to properly support business needs which includes a large classified portfolio.

Ability to Work Remotely: Part-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work part of their work schedule remotely and part of their work schedule at a designated Lockheed Martin facility. The specific weekly schedule will be discussed during the hiring process.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 9x80 every other Friday off

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Washington or Washington DC is $180,000 - $300,000 . Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

Benefits offered: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Short-Term Disability, Long-Term Disability, 401(k) match, Flexible Spending Accounts, EAP, Education Assistance, Parental Leave, Paid time off, and Holidays.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
